Can you make silicone figures with your silicone molds? Or would pouring more of your silicone into the silicone molds cause the the silicone to melt into each other?
You two made me smile huge! Haha! Thanks! ❤️🙏🏻✝️
My favorite part was when you tested the ice cubes to see if they worked.
Love all your tips I have learned so much
Cutting part was not explained well to achieve perfect outline of the shapes
Hi, I purchased your 2 part silicone . I have a springerlee cookie design from switzerland that i've wanted to make out of chocolate so i built up the sides with a cookie cutter and poured the silicone into it , so now basically i have a silicone cookie that i have to make a silicone mold of . my question is , do i need a mold release agent that is non silicone and food safe so that they wont bond together as they are both silicone ??? Thanks for your informative, the possibilities are endless ! and thanks in advance for your time in answering my Q's , Erica :)
Hi Erica, Yes you will want to use a release agent. We do not have a specific brand to use but select one that will work with silicone to silicone.
Where to buy materials for food grade silicone molder

If you also added some edible glitter to the diamond ice, so when it starts melting it will slowly mix with the drink ( and will look like a shiny diamond)
that would be cool!
Where could I buy the product? Thanks for answering
Hi there! You can purchase Mold Making Material here on the ArtResin website: www.artresin.com/collections/mold-making-material
Can I use the silicone you used for the mold to make teethers for babies?
No, while it is food safe, it's cannot be used for teethers. It's meant to be flexible so that it releases easily from a casting, so is nowhere stiff enough to withstand chewing/teething. Thanks for asking!
Love how the baseball bat ice became a stirrer - Thanks for the great tutorial!
I have a question: Is the silicone safe to be use as a teething toy for a baby?
Mold Making Material was designed to create your own mold, I would advise against using it directly for a teething toy as they may be able to bite off a piece and ingest it.
Can i ask what kind of brand food grade silicone you us

How long did you leave the fondant in the fridge?
Because of filming, I'm pretty sure we left it overnight, but it shouldn't need that long ... just until it's firm enough to pop out of the mold. It really depends how thick the fondant layer is.
Where can i buy the product? Thanks

I meant molds to sell
Do you have a video on ice cream Popsicles?
Hi there - although we didn't cover ice cream or popsicles in our tutorial, you can definitely place the molds in the freezer for frozen items (like we did to create ice). It might be easier to release an ice cream or popsicle from a flatter mold so you can pop it out (like the dinosaur in our video)
I'm concerned ice cream or a popsicle might break trying to pull it out of a deeper mold (like our bunny mold or the baseball bat mold we used for ice)
Why is it blue in this video but clear on the website?
This blue silicone to make molds to pour the clear artresin into. Mold making material is blue :)
That's so awesome!
what type of materials are recommended to use when creating the molds? (like the unicorn heads you glued down) Can it be any material or should it be like food or something hard and non-porous? Would air dry clay work even though it's not food safe? I've never made a mold before so I just want to make sure I do it right?
You can pretty much make a mold out of anything. Complex or highly textured items are more difficult so choosing smooth, simple items is easier to start.
I'm a european american, so i need a safe method to cook my fastfood. I don't want to die fast but very slowly.
We do not recommend cooking in this mold, use it for cold or room temperature only.
Excuse me do I just use any gloss spray ? Or does it have to be food safe kind of?
What are you using the gloss spray for:?
@@Artresin sorry for taking long to respond, if its a skin safe product ? ( also I cant find any mold release erasol, is there any good non erasol product you’d recommend that I could import ? ) ( happy new yeaaars)
unfortunately we do not have a recommendation--we don't really use it ourselves. @@mathkor89
Where do i buy these materials?
Mold Making Material can be found here :)

This is awesome! I've been looking for molds to start making shaped baked goods, and now I don't have to spend a ton of money on buying molds when I can make my own! (might still have to buy a lot of the mold making material, but that's better than having to buy individual molds). I'm curious, what brand of mold making material do you guys use or suggest?
We use Mold Making Material brand, it is a two part silicone. MMM cures in about 3-4 hours and is food safe once cured but we do not recommend using your molds in the oven. Once you make your molds, they can be used over and over and over again! Here is a link to purchase: www.artresin.com/products/mold-making-material
@@Artresin thank you for your reply! I appreciate the information
@@Artresin what about using the molds in freezers? any temp limit on the cold side?
@@melissalombardi4086 no, your standard household freezer is safe :)
Is it safe to use to reline dentures>
ArtResin is an epoxy resin that was designed as a self leveling sealant for Artwork. While many artists have found other uses for it I would not recommend it for cosmetic veneers, dentures, dental appliances or repairs.
Can these mold silicon adapt with heat if the food I fill in , need water bath ?
A cold or warm water bath would be fine. Mold Making Material is best used at room temperature, but can withstand being placed in the fridge or freezer, or temperatures of up to 400°F/200°C. Please note that the product is not meant for cooking or for baking items in the oven.
@Artresin In fact, yes I want it for baking but I use volcano steamer than oven but even if I used oven I will make water bath for it , not baking at higher level than 200 °
@@ahmedzaky8060 I can't speak for other silicone products, but Mold Making Material was not designed for use in the oven so I can't recommend this.
A water bath on the counter is fine, but we can't guarantee the mold won't get damaged if exposed to a direct heat source.
I would follow the label directions for the product/brand you are using :)
Would love gummy recipe! Please
loved it
I have had the absolute hardest time with this. Lol.
I poured water in my container, thought I'd be able to use 1 batch for 1 mold. Turned out I needed more.
So I used 2 batches. And now the items are floating to the top.
With 45, min of working time....I don't think this is ever going to work.
She said after stirring for a bit.
2 min, 3 min, 30 seconds?
I stirred it and it looked blue pretty fast .
I'm so disappointed that my chocolate project for my wedding is falling apart at step 1. 😂
Are you making a silicone mold to cast chocolate? Is the problem in making the mold or casting the chocolate?
@@Artresin making the mold. It's ok now I think a couple of my molds are tilted a little deeper. They will just be harder to wrap. Or I can try to shave the chocolate.... But man was this tough.
What did the squirt into the molds with the basters? After they talked about cleaning.
For that example they were making ice cubes in the mold so they used the pipette to add the water.
Hiiiii!
Thank you for sharing this videos with us.
May i use the molds to shape resin or it’s only for food ?
Beast regards
You can use Mold Making Material for casting epoxy--it works great! If you intend to use your molds for epoxy, do not use them for food. Keep your food molds aside just for use with food. Have a look at some of the projects we have made in epoxy using MMM: www.artresin.com/blogs/artresin/mmm-making-a-mold-of-a-king-tut-figurine?_pos=2&_sid=bda590889&_ss=r
Would you be able to make a mold of a hot wheels car using this?
yes! It would be a good idea to fill in some of the voids like around the wheel wells etc with some plasticine so that your mold won't have deep areas that make it hard to remove from the mold and more solid when cast.
When doing the two part sets, after the silicone is finished curing what temperature can the mold go up to without problems? I would be looking to melt down my failed 3d prints into my own custom molds to salvage the scraps so it would be going in the oven.
Did you ever give it a go melting filament into these?
@@eevul no i haven't
Can i use this stuff to make molds that are safe for the oven to make waffles and what is the heat resistance on this mold stuff
Mold Making Material is intended for molding only. It can withstand temperatures up to 400F to create hard candy for example, however it is not intended for baking, cooking or prolonged heat exposure.
Woooo...mam I need ur help , I also make resin coasters bt resin not dry in 3 days and then mold r Aldo west plz guide me how to I demold resin
If your resin has not cured within 3 days, it means there was a problem with either the ratio or the mixing and it won't ever cure. You will want to scrape out the wet resin from your mold carefully , then you can wipe with paper towel and isopropyl alcohol to remove any stickiness.
@@Artresin thank you so much mam... actually resin not dry yet ,and I m try first time ...can u plz give me ur contact num mam
Hi. I am new to this and found some of your vids really interesting to the point I wanted to try and do this one. BUT I have a question about how to clean your mixture up if it has been knocked over after mixing. Any advice on what to use to clean it off my work top and tools please would be a fab help as iv tried and failed to clean it off none disposable items.
If your mixed Mold Making Material has spilled after it has been mixed you can just wait the 3 hours for it to cure, then just pull it off the surface it spilled onto. The silicone should not stick to most surfaces so it should be a simple clean up.
@@Artresin Ya I did that, but it was stupid of me to not put a boarder on my surface lol and it was rolling over the side onto my washing machine and dryer, so I couldn't leave it. ( Like I said Really Really new to this lol, learn by my mistake hey ;) ).
I got most of it back into a tub and pored it back in once I could manage it.
I did manage to save just about enough to make the mould which turned out fab today, even if it was a little short as it just about covered it. The object must have risen because it took me a long time to get the skim it made off (basically it was all enclosed )
I don't do things by halves me and it was a big object. (go big or go home i say ;). It is an expensive hobby so rather than make small moulds I went for a big 21ins long open spaces one hahahah.
I'm glad it turned out for me though and shocked it did after the mishap.
As for cleaning the surface, It is more about getting all the broken bits up now after trying with soapy water when it happened. Made it harder to clean and it is still not quite fully gone yet. But I will get the scarper on it to make sure I haven't left any.
Thanks so much for all your tutorials and you fast reply.
Look forward to watching and learning more soon.

Would the silicone be able tobe used in the crockpot?
Hi Pam, we would not recommend using MMM silicone for cooking or high heat applications.

You can cast hot candy or melted chocolate however we do not recommend Mold Making Material for oven use.

Hi Bhavna, if the resin in the mold never cured, just wipe it out with a paper towel, once most of it is out you can spritz with alcohol to get sticky residue off.
