Do you recomendado this same process for storing a finished piece for long term? Ive had the problem of wrapping my fully curred piece to store until it gets purchased. To then find that the resin ended up with marks from the wrapping. Is there a way to avoid this? Is the temperature of the room the problem? Is there a easy way to fix this or do i have to pour a new resin layer?

Yes, we do :) If your resin has ended up getting marks on it because of the packaging, you can try a hair dryer using it in an ironing motion to warm the resin slightly so that the marks can self heal. If that doesn't work, then sanding and applying a fresh coat of resin is your best option.

Thanks for the video. Do you think bubble wrap would be ok after the piece was already wrapped in parchment paper? I have a ton of bubble wrap for free

Absolutely, as long as the parchment paper is the barrier between your piece and the bubble wrap your piece will be fine :)

I have actually seen a video for packing resin art which does use bubble wrap and it made me cringe since I had already seen this video. :P I think for my current line of resin art I am working on I am going to double box them. I can safely assume that if I have an inner box around the art then I can use bubble wrap in the outer box correct? I also plan to add a Fragile sticker to each one. :p - Heidi

Yes :) As long as the bubble wrap isn't touching the resin you can certainly use it for added protection when shipping :)

@@Artresin Good to know. :) Mine will actually be resin sculpture not art on a canvas etc. The resin is my canvas. They are also relatively small. So far none bigger than 12X12 but that could change as I can make my forms any size I wish. :D

Would bubble wrap be OK if you were shipping vases, tumblers etc?

I still would not use bubble wrap as it tends to mark the resin, you could wrap it in glassine for the first layer or two and then package with additional cushioning like foam or fabric.

Is wax paper or tracing paper ok instead of glassine?

You can use butcher paper, parchment paper or Kraft paper. I would stay away from wax paper for fear of any of the wax transferring onto your resin surface.

how would you be able to package a resin notebook?

Hi Trish, we recommend following the same advice. Using some glassine or parchment paper to protect your resin artwork or book cover. Add some cushioning for protection and then box it up and you're ready to send it.
