I grew up in Cypress and Tomball in the late 60s through the mid-80s. Tomball is nothing like it was back then. It was a pure joy then. The original Klein's grocery store was near the railroad. It had a feed store behind it. The new Klein's grocery store was built, and I remember they had pancake suppers in the parking lot. Mr Klein hired kids for their first jobs. He knew everyone's names when they walked through the doors of his store and shouted a greeting to them all by name "Hello Mrs. Highinbotham!!!". As a kid, i remember getting a "safety pop" from the cashier every Saturday my mother did the grocery shopping. There were really fun parades on main street and fireworks at the high school. I also remember tge yearly trail ride though town all the way out to Cypress and the farmer's market under the big oak tree at the intersection of 2920 and 249. Broke my heart when that beautiful oak tree was cut down... they called it progress!!! Now, Tomball is just another overcrowded, high traffic, congested, expensive extension of Houston.
I bought a house there in early 2021....man what a nice place! They just completed a huge freeway and I think I made a great investment moving from Los Angeles!
What a great and informative video. I live in Richmond, moved to Texas 10 years ago. Wish I had a video to watch like this before I made the decision to move.
This place looks amazing if I do move there, my dads getting an interview in two week that will decide that, If you look up Arcadia it is a run-down historical place with the Round Barn but we got good stuff like Pops
Hii!!! We are thinking about moving to Tomball, I have two daughters who would go to high school, I know they have very good schools in Tomball, but I have been told that Tomball for children who go to high school and even older, life is a little boring. We come from a culture where we are used getting together a lot with friends, both parents and children, and it is a lot of fun. What do you think about that? Social life for teenagers, Do you also recommend life in Tomball for families with children in high school and college?
I don’t think their social lives would be boring at all, Tomball is booming and the schools are massive with tons of kids for them to become friends with and plenty of extra curriculars to get connected. I think Tomball would be a great place to be a high schooler
Yo this looks like my type of place, I love Native culture and used to live on a reservation and I think am native just never figured it out but I got the skin, if you look in my pfp my best friend is Native he is on the right.
