Listen people, she's a mother of two teenage kids, i'm sure the last thing she wants is to go viral again for a bad performance, cause that won't simply impact her anymore. It irritates my soul that Mariah's shows are always ignored if nothing bad happens. Think about the infamous christmas performance, she had amazing shows that followed, and showcased amazing vocals, but no one cares. Mariah probably knows at this point that everyone is waiting to see her fail, i remember seeing the comments on a video of her performance with Ariana and Jhud, the most liked comments were telling her to retire and that she sounds awful. Why would you want to bother singing live when people will constantly compare you to your 20 year old self and say you should stop doing what you love because you aren't the same? We know she can sing, she is using new prerecorded vocals, and she has posted little live rehearsal snippets for us. But her voice is unreliable, it always has been, but now she is pretty much gauranteed cracks and a nasal sounding tone when she sings for extended periods, and when everyone is watching you only to see your downfall, why would she give them the satisfaction? I don't think Mariah will ever get to the point where she's comfortable enough to give a completely live performance again. As a lamb, i'm completely fine with that, if she wants to be a 100% studio artist now, there's nothing wrong with it. She has given us a lot for the past 3 decades, and still has a lot more to give in the studio, i'm just happy she's still in the music scene. What i want from her now is to experiment vocally, try new genres and explore the lower register of her voice more. True lambs will continue to support all her endeavours!
I think if anything she'll do a song fully live but besides that I doubt we're getting 80% live shows also she's probably trying to preserve her voice so she can keep recording songs in the studio because she has been working on mc16 and the butterfly lounge and maybe some jazz songs
Very well said and I agree wholeheartedly with you. I am going to comment, mainly to others, because my Aries energy is burning fiercely right now. To all those that say Mariah needs to do this or that, she doesn't owe any of us anything. So, we get can get over ourselves and appreciate that we still have a wonderful legend still among us. Please allow me to provide some context. I saw Mariah perform her Xmas show at MSG, night 1. I paid a bit of money for the airfare, hotel, taxis, and that show. Vocally it was not a good show. Though she plowed through the performance, her phrasing was tense, broken up, and you can hear the pain in her throat. She still kept the ambiance of the holiday season very festive. So, I appreciated the show but I was very let down. It was WAY different from the night 2 prerecorded special that aired on CBS. Then, I got out of my head. How fortunate was I to have the opportunity to attend the show, to have musical greatness present before me, and to be at MSG at Christmas, a magical place at a magical time of year. I regrounded myself and thought that she had an off night. It's okay. Fast forward to last night, 4/13/24. I'm actually here in Vegas right now, for the weekend, celebrating my birthday. It was yesterday and I attended that performance. I absolutely enjoyed myself. There are some live parts and there are some prerecorded vocals. I'm happy that there are a lot more modern prerecorded vocals from the ones she used in years past. You could hear the crowd singing along to her songs and there was a great amount of applause after each performance. Vegas is very good for her. She is comfortable in her element here. I am happy to never see her be frightened again on awards shows or at festivals. She doesn't need to do those, it's okay. The colors used throughout the show were gorgeous. It definitely gave classic, old Hollywood vibes. I felt like I attended a very classy event. We had a great mix of songs, some of which were rare or obscure. I was also surprised that the show did not end on Hero or We Belong Together, as many have in the past. Throughout the show we are taken on a guided journey, narrated by Mariah. All in all, it was a great show! I fell asleep with a huge smile on my face and it was a great birthday (a cause for celebration). Sure, like many of you, I'd love a D5 in this part and a whistle there but it's not up to us to decide that. Whether sung live or prerecorded the vocals were strong, connected, and, most importantly, sounded very healthy. I'm very excited for this chapter in Mariah's life. The last few years were tough for her but she seems like she is in a good head space.
We all love her. But it’s disingenuous to have people pay hundreds of dollars to see you stand and mouth words to a song. She has all available resources to improve on her vocal condition, and if she chooses not to use them, that’s within her right but you can’t stop people from complaining.
Out of the entire show, she’s actually singing for a grand total of 52 seconds. And given her history of cutting and pitching up studio vocals (not to mention AI nowadays) we can’t even be sure that the new prerecords are genuine 😬
I don’t know about y’all, but her voice is in a really good place, just like it was during Christmas concerts last year. It makes me so sad to see 99% (literally) of the concert being lip-synched. I completely understand lip syncing hard parts of the songs, but all of it? 🥺 In the tiny moments that we’ve got to hear her voice live (the end of “I’ll be there”, or the pause in “Vision of love”), she sounded absolutely gorgeous and the notes sounded very reach and easy for her to produce. That’s the magic of live concerts, which, at the moment, is taken away from us. I’d rather hear her not making any big tricks with her voice, than not hearing her live at all. 😞
@@vladmihai66 it's just so mind boggling to me. Her voice seems to be in a very healthy place right now. It's very resonant and solid despite her not even pushing very much at all.
