This was one of the hardest areas to get across, to fellow mgrs in my PMP classes. People like to work with leaders who LISTEN, and not just dictate. I ran three projects, with a listening and encouraging attitude and got more done. Two out of the 3 projects, went on to become examples for the school and promoting future students. And 2 of our side projects was purchased by outside interest and that went Gold. It really isn't about me, it's about them. Thank you

Your approach to leadership, emphasizing listening and encouragement, is commendable and clearly yielded impressive results. Creating an environment where team members feel heard and valued fosters collaboration and innovation, leading to successful project outcomes. Your humility in recognizing the contributions of others underscores the essence of effective leadership

So its basically a team work, should not be the one who just loses temper at critical situation cause that'll turn teammate's hatred onto us, and should always be a good inspirational speaker cause that'll boost everyone's confidence.(Didnt have my notebook to write, so here u go).. Thanks Adriana... PROJECT MANAGEMENT ROCKS!

Motivation: @2:20. One cannot 'motivate' anyone; what managers must do is not DE-motivate their team. A manager CAN create a positive work environment with meaningful activities and tasks assigned to the team, then CAN encourage them as a team and as individuals. The great risk of a manager's behaviour is that it is too easy to demotivate people.
    .
All good tips, though. One tip I'd add is that you make it clear that you want bad news, and no one gets in trouble for bringing you bad news. YOU NEED TO KNOW asap when things go bad; then you have the chance to fix them, and help people to learn and grow. If you create an atmosphere of fear and rejection, you will end up knowing nothing, people will quit and the project will fail. Then you will too.

Agree with all you stated. I would add bring a calming voice and a everything is "figure-out-able" mentality.
2nd I would say to call out anyone who goes above and beyond their call of duty.
Document achievements weekly and encourage the team to contribute to that document (like a google doc). Both internal and external kudos.

Absolutely, maintaining a calm demeanor and fostering a "can-do" attitude are invaluable traits in leadership. Recognizing and celebrating team members' efforts not only boosts morale but also reinforces a culture of appreciation and collaboration. Implementing a system for documenting and acknowledging achievements enhances team cohesion and motivation. Your insights highlight proactive strategies for cultivating a positive and high-performing team environment.

@englishjosh, check out my pinned video I have on TikTok (Adriana Girdler) where I talk about a few books related to psychology.
You can get your PM certificate at anytime, but are you referring to your PMP? Getting your PMP does require so many hours of project management experience along with some other requirements. You can check out the PMI's website for those detail.
If you are looking for a PM course check out my online course called SLAY Project Management. In this course I walk you through the entire project process from start to finish to make sure you know exactly how to manage your project. It also includes all the templates you will need to keep you on track with your projects! You will also have access to the SLAY Project Management Facebook group where you can ask questions and share your wins with other Slayers! Here is the link to check it out adrianagirdler.thinkific.com/courses/slaypm
