hello! I wanted to know if you had already done a review of the Argentine horror movie TERRIFIED (2020) I would like to know your opinion about the movie.
Hey, just needed to say... Manson has NOT been proven guilty by Evan's claims, or of the other women that jumped on the bandwagon. I believe that his lawsuit against her for defamation will speak truths. I've done a lot of research about the claims, and it seems like BS. Otherwise, great video!
Mother! made me SO uncomfortable. My husband and I had just gotten in a dumb argument on the way to the theater and the movie just weirdly amplified my emotions.
100% agree on Jeepers Creeprs. There’s a suspense movie I haven’t seen and will NEVER see, not because it’s a bad movie but because it’s one of my BIGGEST fears. It’s called Awake (2007) It’s about a man who goes into surgery and while he’s supposed to be unconscious, he feels EVERYTHING that the doctors are doing to him and they unfortunately can’t tell that he’s in pain feeling everything. Based on a true story. I just refuse to see it lol
I remember watching this film on TV some years ago and it was really uncomfortable to watch... Definitely a one-time watch, I don't know how I could handle the whole film
Ive seen that one many times now and every time I still feel the suspense. Definitely loved the relationship between the mother and son, that's what makes it easier for me to watch it
I had to have surgery and was anxious about it so my bf at the time took me out to see a movie the night before to take my mind off it. The first trailer was for Awake and I was like okay I'm never watching that!!! 😬😅
Thank you for speaking out about Jeepers Creepers, MM, and Lost Prophets. Hollywood has this seedy side where pedophiles are able to continue to work with children. It's disgusting. I support your decision completely!
Jeepers Creepers is honestly one of my favorite horror flicks of all time, but then I didnt know about the director before. I was shocked to find out but I still love the film, I must admit.
There seems to be a lot of Weinstein backed movies that you hadnt realizes until a rewatch and seeing credits for. Like Carol, LOTR fellowship, etc. The revelations can still be shocking especially given the scope of the influence these people have had on certain movies across decades
I'm sorry you're getting some invasive/infantilizing comments about your pregnancy and love of horror. You are fully capable of taking care of yourself and knowing your own limits, and it's no one on the internet's business to be questioning what you should and shouldn't do while pregnant. I wish you and the baby well!!
I literally only asked because of my own experiences 🙄 it wasn’t meant to be invasive or infantilizing, I just wanted advice for dealing with the second-hand stress that naturally comes with the horror genre. Not everyone is trying to be rude when they ask a simple question.
Sophia h is obviously someone who has asked one of the questions pertaining to pregnancy and wanted to clarify her intentions. There was nothing to be sorry about for people asking questions in a respectful manner. Sarah didn’t seem to be offended by or take the questions as invasive, just more perplexed which makes sense as she’s a first time mother.
Just had my baby 6 weeks ago. Considered watching it when the new one came out but I'm glad I decided not to. Pregnancy definitely affected my love for horror/true crime and I made sure to steer clear of certain movies and cases that I might find triggering.
I just came upon the channel, and I'm glad you brought this film up! I was pregnant many years ago when the film had come out on DVD maybe? I went to a deli I liked frequenting, and on this night, there was a new manager on the floor, and he had this film playing, while people were just casually trying to eat their roast beef sandwiches and such. I was so disturbed both by the choice in film for the venue, but also because I was flippin pregnant and what the heck is this, in front of my mac and cheese!? No way would I watch it again, too many conflicting emotions.
girl dont feel bad!! im glad u know what u need and are able to find it!! sensitivities change throughout life anyway, and there are tons that i loved and i just cant do them again. its very sad but thats part of life and being this into anything
i especially understand bc when i was younger child things were uncomfortable but not week ruining... now i cant even read/hear news about anything with children. it cuts out a LOT of movies for me. SA honestly rarely belongs in movies in general much less horror, and i also totally skip anything that has scenes with it tbh
Love that you mentioned Jeepers Creepers on this list. I too saw the first one at a time where Salva’s crimes weren’t common knowledge or widely publicized and were something that required lots of online digging to uncover. It was some time after the release of the second one that I found out, and at that point completely separated myself from anything Salva ever did (or ends up doing in the future). I don’t own any JC movie in my collection, nor will I ever support one. As a single parent of one somewhat young child and one very young child, this is a hill I’m willing to die on no matter how many toxic internet trolls who aren’t bothered by Salva’s repugnant past try to insult me about it.
I completely agree with you on the separating the "art from artist" I'm just reminded of how gross they are whenever I consume any kind of media that they have now tainted. Also "No judgment" and that's the reason I'm here because so many other people who love films and/or horror are just toxic. I love your videos!
Separating the art from the artist when the artist is a pedophile is objectively wrong. You’re giving money and support to a pedophile for no good reason except for your own selfish entertainment and enjoyment.
Agreed. There are two areas where there is NO redemption for me with an artist. One, pedophelia, and the other domestic animal abuse. I will not support nor watch and/or listen to anything these deviates create.
I have a toddler and can no longer watch Pet Sematary because of THAT scene. Pretty much anything where a child gets hurt is a no go for me now, and I still love horror. I also haven't been able to go back to Handmaid's Tale since I got pregnant over 3 years ago.
I saw Hereditary the day I found out I was pregnant and it hit me REAL hard and it's still the scariest movie to me. I read the In the Tall Grass novella while pregnant, also a bad time. And a friend just described a screen from Witch when I was 6 weeks along and still have yet to see it. Being pregnant and then having a child changes ones perspective dramatically.
Hereditary is the most disturbing movie I've ever seen. My anxiety was already through the roof, even afterwards it stayed in my head for days. I couldn't imagine being pregnant, carrying your child and just...watching that. I guess it may be the instinct to protect yourself and the child.
Just had my first baby in July & during my pregnancy my grandmother kept telling me I was going to actually curse my child because I was going to see X in theatres while visiting my family in Vegas. I watched Ghostland for the first time during my pregnancy and it was one of the best films I watched this year lol during pregnancy I had more of a strong aversion to sex scenes in films and tv and would actually gag . But I’m surprised you mentioned Mother! Because that was one I couldn’t bear to watch during pregnancy and even now postpartum. It gives me such anxiety my breathing changes
@@stephaniealicea9782 It's more infuriating than scary, to be honest, but that's just how I personally feel about it. I found myself wanting to beat pretty much all the characters (apart from Jennifer Lawrence, obviously) to a bloody pulp.
First of all, congratulations on your first born 🙏🏻 ….now, why were you “surprised” she mentioned ‘mother!’? I think this was one of the more obvious movies on the list, so I’m confused lol!
@@stephaniealicea9782 You should ignore us all and watch it for yourself. You need to pay attention throughout the movie and it’s a psychological horror (borderline thriller) and the movie had me thinking for a while. It’s not an easy watch and I do not wish to rewatch. It does make you think about everything concerning what happens in the movie.
@@stephaniealicea9782 It’s basically a horror/nuisance take on Christianity I think (characters are supposed to represent god, mother nature, Jesus, and mankind). Very interesting but definitely not something I’ll watch again. Also, slight spoiler and major trigger warning: There’s a scene in the film where a baby gets brutally torn apart and partially eaten. The death is off screen, but it’s gorey nonetheless. I think that’s the reason why most people avoid this film. That could’ve been why Jennifer Lawrence was disturbed by the film too (since she’s also a mother).
I just want to say, I never really watched Horror before I started watching this channel. I'm really branching out now with old horror or PG13 or light r movies. Thank you for making me feel like watching light horror is ok, that I don't have to love it all to still like horror.
Hey that’s how I started watching horror. I don’t think there’s any right or wrong way to approach horror. People have different tastes and different things that are too triggering. I watch a pretty broad spectrum of horror these days, but there are still some types of horror and some specific movies that I won’t watch.
I love watching bad horror movies. They manage to scare from time to time, but seeing the bad CGI/ writing/ acting/etc really helps calm me down. Like (this might be a bit controversial) “Annabelle: Creation”. I watched it with my cousins and we had a few laughs because the “hurrdurr, horror movie characters are stupid and my dumb decisions”, but we still had some moments where we were scared shitless! Also, maybe it’s just me, but before I watch a horror movie, I like to watch behind the scenes footage (like watching them put on make up or see how they filmed stunts). It helps me feel less scared and appreciate the small details the make up team and film crew out into the movie. “Oh, I know how that scene was filmed. They used wires to lift that character! It looks so cool in the movie!”
You can watch whatever you enjoy. Don't feel pressured into watching anything you're not com with. On horror channels, inevitably you will get those people who will try to tell you that horror must be brutally extreme and disturbing, and if you don't enjoy them you should "stick with Disney movies" or similar types of comments. Just ignore them. They are usually teens or people who are desperate to prove how tough they are to everyone. People can enjoy whatever they want.
@@oliver_liew Totally agree. I hate people that assume that if you don't enjoy or haven't watched the most extreme horror cinema, you're not a real "horror fan"
I totally understand the change in your tolerance for certain horror. My bday is Halloween, so I’ve always loved horror movies. I can’t recall if I was sensitive about pregnancy/body horror while pregnant. I don’t think I was. However, after my baby was born things changed. I absolutely had no ability to tolerate any horror/movies involving young children being hurt or scared. It took me until my daughter was about 8-10yo for that visceral disgust to fade completely. As my daughter got older, and I slowly exposed her to certain horror movies she now loves them too! She’s 17yo now and we just went and saw, “Smile,” together. She also raved about Barbarian, but I haven’t seen it yet. So, congrats on your pregnancy! Maybe you’ll get lucky like me and end up with a buddy to watch horror with in a few years! 👻😄
I think it’s great to understand one’s limitations, and I appreciate your honesty in sharing especially given you’ve already gotten some comments about it. You’re also very considerate in how you get that horror you’re no longer into would appeal to others. Thank you for sharing, and good luck with the pregnancy!
I am a huge horror movie fan. I love horror, always have and always will. Your intro reminds me of when my grandmother told me to stop watching horror movies while pregnant. I kinda listen to her and only watched thriller/ easy to watch/silly horror movies, stayed away from disturbing, psychotic and demented movies lol. I love my grandma and she was kinda of right.
The guy who did Jeepers Creepers did a movie called Powder before the JC films. Now I did watch it, trying with an open mind but I knew his history going into it. And you can tell his interests he is into and I won't even go into it. If you've seen it, then you know. But I will never watch Powder again or any of his other films. Not even if you paid me. Look I'm all for giving people a second chance but there are some crimes I can't ever forgive.
I couldn't watch horror while pregnant, but I love horror all the same since I've had my kids. I actually would binge AHS while I fed my first baby. 😅 I still can't do horror movies with kids and am more sensitive to SA now. However, there's so many good movies without that stuff. It's different for everyone!
I love that you recognize and set your boundaries. Even though I’m not making content for a channel, it helps me not feel pressured to watch horror movies outside my own boundaries.
When I was pregnant back in 1985 the return of the living dead came out. I was working the front box and with all the screaming and moaning with the zombies it was so creepy and scary. That was the first movie where the zombies could talk and run as fast as living people. I was so freaked out every night lol🌸
I can totally relate to this video, I never hear anyone else mentioning how pregnancy affects their love of horror movies lol. I remember with my first pregnancy I tried watching Excision and couldn’t even finish it. Love your videos and congrats on your baby!
One horror movie that continues to give me chills is Inside the original movie. I love every horror movie and don't get disturbed by anything, yes j already watched human centipede 2, a serbian film, etc. But didn't get disturbed by them but I did feel scared over Inside and how vulnerable a woman can be.
I would throw Roman Polanski in there with Victor Salva. He made some really good horror too (Rosemary's Baby, Repulsion, etc), and it was undeniably infuriating when I found out what Roman did. It also seems like some people want to give Roman a pass compared to Victor. Victor's movies were B movie material, but Roman's movies were "art". They're both garbage people to me though.
You’re not alone at all. I can’t separate art from the artist because we vocalize our agreement or indifference with our money and support. There is no movie or song I like enough to throw money at a bad person.
I'm glad you brought up the Jeepers Creepers controversy(reality) because I hadn't known until, I think, this year! I also draw a hard line with things like that. The idea of separating art from the artist shouldn't be a hard one with topics like these.
Since I've had my daughter, I cannot watch certain horror movies anymore! Even A Quiet Place 2 where I thought the baby was in danger, I really couldn't handle it! It's so bizarre how kids affect you, I never used to flinch and now I'm so sensitive to it all
I always find this topic so interesting, because one person's "never watch again" can be another person's absolute fave. For example, I really like Dumplings! Seen it multiple times, and I'm so happy that it's unlikely that Hollywood will ever touch it. They better not🤭🥟 The movie I haven't been able to make myself watch twice is Midsommar. Awesome, very cool, but has my **specific** triggers in it so I saw 1/4 of it behind my hands lol. I want to change that this year...I think I can do it
I love those videos you make especially. I remember your video about movies you'd never watch or most horrible, and you talking about how people in the horror fan community are so judgy about people who only watch 'softer' stuff, or no exploitation horror etc. and I've always felt bad about that bc there's a lot of stuff I can't watch. And I felt so validated and less alone after that. so thank you for talking about this! And also addressing MM etc. I love that. I also CAN NOT and will not seperate art and artist (esp. when they are still alive). So, to sum it up, thank you and lots of love 💜💜💜
When I was about 8 months pregnant I went to see the first Annabelle movie in theatres not really thinking anything of it and it wasn’t super scary or amazing but that scene where she was stabbed in the stomach shook me lol. I literally looked down and my stomach then looked at my husband and we both just said damn 😅 Ever since having my two sons I struggle with anything to do with kids and violence.
I hear you! I saw it in theather years ago when I wasn't pregnant. I recently saw it again a few months ago and the scene that really got me was when she hits the Annabelle doll on the crib, throws it, looks again and sees her baby lifeless on the floor. I grabbed my 6 month old daughter and held her tight after that scene. Seeing babies/kids get hurt in movies gives me a whole new reaction now that I'm a mom myself.
I’m not a mom, but I do have a brother who’s 8 years younger than me. When he was still a baby, I couldn’t stomach seeing babies in pain or crying in film because I would think of my brother. Sometimes, I’d run over to check up on him. Edit: I love horro, but anything involving young children getting hurt is a big no for me. There’s a scene in Doctor Sleep where a kid gets tortured and his screams felt so real and gut-wrenching, I had to skip ahead.
Hey Sarah ! Have you done "Crowhaven Farm" yet? It's truly one of the most frightening films I ever watched as a kid (Actually a TV movie). In the highest grade of tv horror movies, more like a Witchy chiller-thriller. Kinda hard to get hold of in the UK but should easy be able to view it on any media in US...🤔
Definitely a very interesting scenario you find yourself in, I’d never thought about the physical and psychological effects of horror content on a pregnant person, so you’re in for a wild ride! Anyways I was wondering, don’t you think, a couple years from now, when you’re not pregnant anymore and all the “experience” has passed you’ll be able to watch all of these again? Or are these “NO” for life? I couldn’t imagine thinking “I’ll never watch these movies I enjoyed EVER again” so very curious on what you think of it? Maybe someday you’ll be able to handle them better? Or it’s a hard no? 😮
Not sure how she’ll feel but for me at least these feelings eventually wore off. I didn’t want to rewatch/watch anything like Mother! or Goodnight Mommy (Austrian film) while pregnant/for awhile after. But now almost 3 years later I’m back to enjoying all themes/sub genres of horror. I think it comes down to hormonal changes, or at least for me it did. Your mind and body seem to just naturally find certain things more repulsive when pregnant and it’s difficult to separate art from reality.
I know from my aunt whos oldest is 8 years old now that she has never been able to enjoy horror movies like she used to since she's had children. She was a massive horror fan before pregnancy.
Im happy that it wasnt just me 😅 I used to be really deep into disturbing content and would, could watch anything in high school. I got pregnant and went to see the first quiet place film in theaters and had to leave at around 15 minutes because i couldnt handle it -.- I left sobbing. Then i beat myself up a lot over it, like years of me beating myself up for not being able to handle things anymore.
Mother! is the movie I never want to see again either. It's incredibly upsetting to see this one character go through such unimaginable horrors and acts of depravity with absolutely no positive resolve whatsoever. I get what the film was going for but it's not something I would ever put myself through ever again.
i watched mother because of ur older video talking about the most disturbing movies, i defo agree that its very overwhelming and an introverts nightmare
While this is definitely not horror related, this does remind me of the story my mom gave me when I was a baby. Back in the day before VHS became a thing, sometimes Disney would re-release their movies into theaters and my mom took me to see Bambi when I was a baby (I am her first born). My mom hadn't seen the movie yet either. Well that famous death scene actually traumatized my mom and made her cry (she was only 21 at the time so she was still young herself). My mom was a lot more emotional when pregnant and still had those issues after becoming a mother, she did say there were certain things she couldn't watch anymore.
I had the same experience with Mother. I actively seek out disturbing movies, specifically horror, so it was right up my alley. However, it got to me on a completely different level. I think only a couple other movies made me THAT physically and mentally anxious, and not in an enjoyable way at all. I actually had to stop it at one scene to catch my breath. I would like to revisit it at some point, since it's been quite a few years, but I don't know if I'm ready to put myself through that again.
I have my own (short) list. 1. The Girl Next Door. Extremely disturbing in a way I don't like. A real downer. 2. Trauma (2017). It's the Chilean film. I'm surprised it isn't talked about as much... yeah, this was too much. I watched it all the way through, and I don't regret it, but I have no need to subject myself to that again. 3. Hmm I don't think this counts as horror, but it's horror adjacent. Irreversible. Not only was it disturbing, but I HATED it. I applaud the techniques used, but it made it impossible for me to understand what was happening.
Irreversible is on my never watch list, even though Climax by the same director is one of my favorite disturbing movies (Climax also has some pregnancy horror)
I was still happily watching horror movies while pregnant but then once my child was born I wasn't able to watch most horror until a year or so later. It was wild. I was so upset by everything.
Can I respectfully ask why? I don't understand how horror movies have anything to do with being pregnant. If it's a horror movie that has things related to a pregnant person, then I'd understand. Otherwise I don't understand. Can you please explain why? Is it just because how some horrors can be disturbing, and how it affects certain people? Sorry for asking 😅
My horror watching changed as a Dad after the kids were older. I got rid of my Horror VHS as the covers were very graphic. My wife watched whatever she felt like when pregnant and no harm was done. Later as the kids got older they figured out what horror they liked. Awesome Channel.❤
I've been just rewatching your older videos lately cause I've been bored and boom, you upload a new video, exactly what I needed! Thanks for the frequent uploads! :D
Mother! made me so uncomfortable but, in a beautiful way. Then literally as soon as I got pregnant and had my daughter I get goosebumps every time I even think about it. I can’t ever watch it again.
Sooo glad you're bringing up Jeepers Creepers again. I learned about the directors past through your video back then and had nooooo idea before! Ever since I told so many fellow horror fans about it and nobody knew about it. So important to spread awareness, I think a lot of people out there are unknowingly watching the movies since it's apparently not a well known fact at all. :(
As an aunt, I can't imagine ever watching Dumplings and I've never been pregnant. Kid stuff has always disturbed me but now that I'm an aunt, it's on a whole other level.
My “never watch again” movies would be sleepers, and the girl next door. Both are unfortunately VERY true, and very depressing to know that humans could do that to other humans.
I honestly don't understand why it's considered transphobic that one of the villains in Incident In A Ghostland is trans. There are no critical remarks about trans people in the movie. One of the killers just happens to be trans. Can a trans person not be a villain and/or a killer in reality, nor portrayed as one in any movie or show? Are they only to be portrayed as good characters in all movies and shows? If trans characters were predominantly portrayed as villainous characters or even just bad, unpleasant people in general in most movies and shows, then that would be a big problem and would be transphobic. But this isn't the case at all. So why is it considered transphobic for one of the antagonists in this movie to be trans?
When I heard the title ‘Dumpling’ I think ‘That makes me think of that wild short I saw a while back’ and then when you mentioned The Three Extremes I realized I’d actually seen that collection! I forgot the name of the collection.
My ex insisted that I watch Dumplings, and I appreciate being forced out of my comfort zone, but he didn’t warn me AT ALLLLL. Only movie to make me a throw up a little in my mouth
Honestly, pregnancy horror is a genre I will probably never touch. Maybe it's that I'm ace, maybe it's cause I have a slight fear about childbirth, maybe it's something else entirely. I just never liked the idea of that. It feels... wrong to watch.
I think the most disturbing part of movies like Inside is the fact that actual crimes like this have happened/were attempted. Even tho I'm not someone who can be pregnant/have kids, the fact that it's based in reality is enough to scare me. I'd go one step further to say that any horror movie that has a deep basis in reality where I feel like myself or a loved one could end up in the exact situation are the ones that really scare/disturb me 😅
I saw Mother! on an airplane. I hadn't heard anything about it and was genuinely rocked by it and on the verge of an anxiety attack- which is a reaction I seldom have to movies. Being stuck in a small seat with a bunch of strangers trying to hide my distress was the absolute woooorst. I do still love the movie though. I think it's heartbreaking and I unfortunately resonated heavily with the relationship dynamic.
If you're open to a horror-comedy about pregnancy check out Prevenge! It's a British film about a pregnant woman whose unborn child tells her to do evil things...the lead actress/director made the film whilst 7 months pregnant! Of course, check out TWs
INSIDE is a brilliant film...but I'd never recommend it to someone who was pregnant. BTW- the movies Found and The Poughkeepsie Tapes disturbed me soooo much. Like I loved them and I think they're both movies every horror fan should watch. But damn, I don't think I'll ever re-watch them.
I think I will never watch Aster again. It's weird. I can't even put my finger on what it is that unsettles me so much . Midsommer was so different from Hereditary, and yet, it's the same ambiance, like an aftertaste, that I couldn't get rid of for ages. In the theatre, I felt fine, but the films repeated on me like I'd swallowed a whole garlic clover raw, but for months .
I played "Amnesia" 1 while pregnant with my 2nd. Admittedly, I paused and saved at moments when it became "too much", but I am a lover of horror, since I was 5, and for me I knew what I could (and could not) handle at the time. We are all different, we know our limits. ASK me to play Amnesia now and I'd tell you "hell no", I tried and couldn't make it past 30 mins, 10 years later. A true testimony to the fact that we all change, and age doesn't make a different at all lol.
I saw Incident at a Ghost Land a while ago, and it was really well done, but it’s obviously VERY disturbing. I actually rewatched this movie which I never do because it was just so different, so it’s definitely understandable as to why u ain’t watching this movie again. That first twist was so insane, but yeah…it’s a lot.
The American version of inside was definitely tame compared to the foreign version. It was a one time watch for me. I like the foreign version so much better.
I’m still mad at this one youtuber who made a video about disturbing films that just casually showed the ending of Inside right when I was getting really interested to check it out. Dude didn’t even talk about the spoilers but just casually showed that in the middle of all the other clips in the background. I should still probably check out the movie though.
I think "should you be watching horror when youre pregnant" is a somewhat fair question, considering what your body goes through while watching a horror
I mean I personally don’t feel a ton of emotions watching most horror since I’ve seen so much. and some anxiety maybe felt in a theater setting isn’t going to trigger an early birth or anything lol
Honestly, "Emelie" is unwatchable to me, as a mother and as someone who has dealt with infidelity, it triggers me to the core. I have never had a movie cause me to stop the film and go out for a smoke cause it was too much.
This was such a good list! I'm not a person that wants children but I find it really interesting the way that pregnancy can affect your preferences for things like horror movies. It'll be interesting to see how your opinions change once you do have a tiny human
With movies like mother I found the subtitles are helpful for getting the meanings. For example the characters aren't called by their actual titles in the movie. So while you can see in the credits it's easier to get out pin the first watching if you know who they're supposed to be while the movie outs playing
Back in the day I watched "Humanoids From The Deep" when I was about six months along with my son. Probably not the best idea. Also trigger warning for weird rape. B grade movie. But it still rattled my friend who was also very pregnant.
Ahh that's a bummer about Jeepers Creepers, I didn't know that about the director. I only ever watched it for Justin Long, but he's got other horror movies I can watch instead.
One synonym I like for "disturbing movies" is "extreme cinema." It may be common for movies to show situations that would be extreme in real life, but in the context of the horror genre the label becomes much more specific.
Omg your so right about French horror truly brutal and horrific too 😳😳😳😳 I’m sorry but I can’t stand that movie, Mother because of the ending. Saw it once and never again 😡😡😡😡 To be honest with you, I don’t think 🤔 I can ever order dumplings again 🤢🤢🤢🤢
i like how while you wont rewatch these movies again you still mention what is good about them. show appreciation for the art. while for different reasons I have come across horror flicks that were a one time watch only. either too disturbing or crappy plot or bad ending etc.
I appreciate your opinions and can totally understand. We watch horror films for fun and entertainment, if you can’t get that from a movie there’s no point in watching it no matter how good it is or how many people love it. It’s great that we all have different tastes and comfort levels in media.
I still tell people about mother to this day because of your channel even though I know I’ll never be able to watch it because it’s fascinating in concept to me from your description but literally too terrifying to fathom sitting through in entirety
I tried watching Human Centipede 2 when I was pregnant and had to turn it off. For obvious reasons. And I watched less horror than usual during my pregnancies, because my overall anxiety was through the roof.
I'm so with you on not being able to separate the art from the artist. I can never watch Jeepers Creepers either, even though I loved that movie. Same with other shows/bands/books/etc. I kind of envy those who can still like something even knowing the one who made it is a terrible person. I just can't.
Mother makes me feel claustrophobic even just thinking about it, i loved it because of the metaphor and how amazing the performances were but it’s just so hard to sit through almost like you can’t breathe. I understand you on jeepers creepers, i like the original but when i learnt about the creator it changed my perspective on all of it, i can still seperate the film from him in a way but it always crosses my mind when i hear about the franchise. crazy how hollywood protects disgusting people.

Calling Mother a love/hate film makes total sense. It’s SO anxiety inducing. I understand how it could trigger people. I love the themes it explores.

I think I'll skip that one. I think Stephen King wrote a short story similar to that, but it was an autopsy. Haunted me for days.🤯😱
Oof, no, been through that, a few times. I don’t have full sensation but I am aware of what’s happening to me during surgery
That’s with every company. Not just Hollywood
Wait MM is a pedo?
Jeepers Creepers is honestly one of my favorite horror flicks of all time, but then I didnt know about the director before. I was shocked to find out but I still love the film, I must admit.
You do know a lot of movies from The Weinstein Company that people still watch & support even after what Harvey Weinstein did
There seems to be a lot of Weinstein backed movies that you hadnt realizes until a rewatch and seeing credits for. Like Carol, LOTR fellowship, etc. The revelations can still be shocking especially given the scope of the influence these people have had on certain movies across decades
I get "how does being pregnant change your view?" but "SHOULD you be watching horror?" is a bit ridiculous, lol
Was it? This whole video was about restriction
@@sophiah.9119 sorry but i have no idea what you're talking about? respectfully, this comment wasn't about you.
@@sophiah.9119 did they @ you ? Cause pretty weird that you’d assume they’re referring to you when she has thousands of followers 🙄
@@sophiah.9119 awk maybe word things better? Also they didn’t even @ you lmao
I feel like the first orphan movie could also be potentially triggering/sensitive to people who are pregnant, especially that first scene.
ABSOLUTELY
Just had my baby 6 weeks ago. Considered watching it when the new one came out but I'm glad I decided not to. Pregnancy definitely affected my love for horror/true crime and I made sure to steer clear of certain movies and cases that I might find triggering.
People?!?! Only women can create babies you freak
@@Pickle_Pants_McGeethat’s really weird, i hate when people have no sense of the space they’re in and what’s appropriate
Incident in a ghostland main actress had an accident while filming that scarred her face. She sued the director and production company.
girl dont feel bad!! im glad u know what u need and are able to find it!! sensitivities change throughout life anyway, and there are tons that i loved and i just cant do them again. its very sad but thats part of life and being this into anything
i especially understand bc when i was younger child things were uncomfortable but not week ruining... now i cant even read/hear news about anything with children. it cuts out a LOT of movies for me.
@@strawberryflower.forgetmenot I know, that's essentially what she says, and I agreed
Agreed. There are two areas where there is NO redemption for me with an artist. One, pedophelia, and the other domestic animal abuse. I will not support nor watch and/or listen to anything these deviates create.
It's a shame that Hollywood is full of pedophiles, and we will never truly know how deep it goes.
Watch dominion!
Waiting for the last members of Led Zeppelin to die so I can listen to their music without them directly profiting from it ✌🏻😙
DC I agree with you so much!!!
News flash: Hollywood is run by pedophiles
I've never been pregnant and Hereditary messed me up so much, I'm never gonna watch it again.
Yeah that movie was something else and I don’t think I can ever watch it again. Albeit I did actually enjoy and it’s one of my favorites oddly enough
Hereditary is the most disturbing movie I've ever seen. My anxiety was already through the roof, even afterwards it stayed in my head for days. I couldn't imagine being pregnant, carrying your child and just...watching that. I guess it may be the instinct to protect yourself and the child.
Yeah the thing in Hereditary that gets me is hearing the mother wailing over the daughter. I just can't hear a bereaved mother cry
I've never seen Mother and yall legit made me feel like I should never watch it lol
@@stephaniealicea9782
You should ignore us all and watch it for yourself.
Also, slight spoiler and major trigger warning:
There’s a scene in the film where a baby gets brutally torn apart and partially eaten.
It looks so cool in the movie!”
watch whatever you can handle and it's good to know your limits. fuck what everyone else thinks is "extreme". you do you.
Also that Ghostland movie, the child actress got injured during the shooting. Think she has a scar on her face now :/
I think it’s great to understand one’s limitations, and I appreciate your honesty in sharing especially given you’ve already gotten some comments about it.
The Collector (2009) has probably my favorite alternate ending of any movie ever put on a DVD. It's hilarious.
"Sensitive Sarah" is great! Embrace it... Dig that your video offerings have a touch-of-VLOG lately... Wishing you well.
Powder is the movie where he was charged with it. the lead actor the boy was the one and he never really recovered or acted again. just sick.
After changing enough power-pooped diapers, nothing scares me any more.
I love that you recognize and set your boundaries. Even though I’m not making content for a channel, it helps me not feel pressured to watch horror movies outside my own boundaries.
I love The Collector and The Collection. 2 of my fave movies
When my mom was pregnant with me, the first time she felt me move was when she watched Saw for the first time. She started me young :)
They're both garbage people to me though.
period.
I don't think I could watch Pan's Labyrinth again because of the ending.
😢
It's a brilliant film, but so sad.
They better not🤭🥟
The movie I haven't been able to make myself watch twice is Midsommar.
So, to sum it up, thank you and lots of love 💜💜💜
love you sarah! you’re videos always make me feel so comforted and safe. i’m so happy for you i know you’re gonna be the best mom ever ❤️ 🫂
I like your list and TOTALLY RESPECT your boundaries!!! 💖
Im happy that it wasnt just me 😅
I used to be really deep into disturbing content and would, could watch anything in high school.
I got pregnant and went to see the first quiet place film in theaters and had to leave at around 15 minutes because i couldnt handle it -.- I left sobbing.
Then i beat myself up a lot over it, like years of me beating myself up for not being able to handle things anymore.
it’s okay! it’s just cinema, there’s so many movies with less upsetting content
Mother! is the movie I never want to see again either. It's incredibly upsetting to see this one character go through such unimaginable horrors and acts of depravity with absolutely no positive resolve whatsoever. I get what the film was going for but it's not something I would ever put myself through ever again.
Judging someone for watching horror while pregnant is just bizarre to me. like what
i watched mother because of ur older video talking about the most disturbing movies, i defo agree that its very overwhelming and an introverts nightmare
I would like to revisit it at some point, since it's been quite a few years, but I don't know if I'm ready to put myself through that again.
yes the camera work by the director was brilliant in making you actually feel that anxiety
Collector needs that trilogy 🔥
right we were so robbed of that third movie
The changeling is one of my faves but now having a child of my own it‘s harder to watch because of the little boy and the daughter.
My ex insisted that I watch Dumplings, and I appreciate being forced out of my comfort zone, but he didn’t warn me AT ALLLLL. Only movie to make me a throw up a little in my mouth
I watched nightingale when I was pregnant and man that scene with her husband and baby still haunts me.
I feel you. After I had my kid, watching any movie regarding a de@th of a child causes me a lot of anxiety. Hereditary was a blow to the chest.
BTW- the movies Found and The Poughkeepsie Tapes
disturbed me soooo much. Like I loved them and I think they're both movies every horror fan should watch. But damn, I don't think I'll ever re-watch them.
9:22 we call that "shock horror" :)
@@PossessedbyHorror true
I continued to watch horror when I was pregnant, my daughter was OK, never saw any problems watching horror when pregnant!!
I’m shocked you found the collector to be disturbing at all Kinda thought it was just a typical horror movie
Should you be watching horror while pregnant? What? 🤣 That's hilarious.
Like Tusk? Lol that movie traumatized me. He's also in a movie called The Wave, I reccomend it! Not exactly horror but pretty good.
I watched Men at the cinema while highly pregnant, I think I actually gave birth a week later or something. It was a wild ride!!
One synonym I like for "disturbing movies" is "extreme cinema." It may be common for movies to show situations that would be extreme in real life, but in the context of the horror genre the label becomes much more specific.
I saw that you have the movie Darkness Falls in your movie collection I love that movie it's awesome could you do a movie review on it sometime.
I totally agree about the collector! I think it is a great concept but it was so disturbing to me that I will never watch it again.
about the true events...The Collectors. ;-)
Omg your so right about French horror truly brutal and horrific too 😳😳😳😳
I’m sorry but I can’t stand that movie, Mother because of the ending. Saw it once and never again 😡😡😡😡
To be honest with you, I don’t think 🤔 I can ever order dumplings again 🤢🤢🤢🤢
i like how while you wont rewatch these movies again you still mention what is good about them. show appreciation for the art. while for different reasons I have come across horror flicks that were a one time watch only. either too disturbing or crappy plot or bad ending etc.
I thought NordVPN was a horror movie for a sec after looking at the timestamps names 😭😭
I appreciate your opinions and can totally understand. We watch horror films for fun and entertainment, if you can’t get that from a movie there’s no point in watching it no matter how good it is or how many people love it. It’s great that we all have different tastes and comfort levels in media.
Absolutely agree with "Incident in a Ghostland". I went in knowing nothing and it really bothered me
I still tell people about mother to this day because of your channel even though I know I’ll never be able to watch it because it’s fascinating in concept to me from your description but literally too terrifying to fathom sitting through in entirety
I'm not a Mom or Pregnant but idk if I could handle Inside, Mother!, or Dumplings. Those all sound terrifying
"An introvert's nightmare..." Nice!
Nocturnal Animals was not at all was I was expecting and I will definitely never be watching it again
I tried watching Human Centipede 2 when I was pregnant and had to turn it off. For obvious reasons.
And I watched less horror than usual during my pregnancies, because my overall anxiety was through the roof.
I KNEW YOU WERE GONNA SAY MOTHER! 😭 it’s one of my favorite movies of all time but totally understandable that you would put it here
I'm so with you on not being able to separate the art from the artist.
I love Dumplings 😊🥟 But I understand. I do think the short film Box from Three Extremes is better though
