I knew you had amazing taste but am SO GLAD that Thirteen is on your list! It's my second favorite film of all time and I think it's one of the absolute most under-appreciated movies of the 2000s. Even as a gay man this movie managed to relate and stay with me for years for countless different ways and is the film I feel defines my teenage experience the most. It's an absolute 10/10 film for me (not to mention gave us babies Nikki Reed, Evan Rachel Wood, and Vanessa Hudgens.)

Hey Sarah, have you seen Arrival? I love that movie, so beautiful, and such a great message. My all time favourite horror/chick flick is Alien/Aliens. I consider Aliens more of a chick flick, because it is such a power house of amazing women. So rarely see love for Thirteen but it is one of those films that has stuck with me since I first watched it when I was also 13 (we must be pretty much the same age - there are a lot of overlaps in our favourite films and like you say, you tend to favour the era you grew up with). I have a lifelong love for Evan Rachel Wood and Nikki Reed because of this film. I remember watching it and simultaneously feeling like I wanted to be them but also feeling very unsettled by it all.

Hi, I'm new to your channel, haven't seen old videos yet. Though horror movies are not my favorite genre, "Crimson Peak", "Scream '96" and "Bram Stoker's Dracula" are among my favorite horror of all time. In the category of non-horror we do share favorites: "Joker" it's a masterpiece, I watched the whole Oscar ceremony just to jump of happiness when Joaquin was finally recognized as the genius that he is; "The Martian" is one of my comfort movies, I also cry when "Starman" by Bowie is playing but that (to me) is related to the fact that I miss him and haven't been able to play his music since his death (or his movie Labyrinth) 😢. "Interstellar" is a cinematic master class, those critics who hated it, they don't know what they're saying. I also cry a lot during that scene when McConaguey is watching his grown up children on video. It kills me every time cause I have a non-existent relationship with my own dad, it's so sad to watch. Also, my number one favorite actress Jessica Chastain is in both movies 😁. I'm curious, don't you like "Arrival" ? It's right up there in my top sci-fi movies with "The Martian", "Interstellar" and "Gravity"
