    Surfing internet to find tips and learn how to be a good barista. Good place to be. This guy is so good and always smile. I enjoy watching while learning a lot. Feel like im so good r n. But deym looks so easy but so hard when i do it. Lol. Any advice for a guy who was hired in a small voffee shop with no experience and no related course. Im an i.t guy but i fell in love making coffee. Working here for two months now but all i can do is rosetta but many times it fails. Thanks in advance dritan! Watched many of ur videos so maybe all i need is more practice right. Sorry so long comment.

    Absolutely incredible! Do you know how much froth ends up being in your lattes? We use clear glasses where I work and am having trouble keeping the right amount of froth on top....

    • @dritanalsela
      @dritanalsela  7 лет назад +1

      Hi April, thanks for your comment :-) My Lattes have around half a cm of foam.. that's how we do it here in Germany :-) My Cappuccinos in turn always have a Minimum of 1 cm. Ending up with the right amount of foam is really a matter of practice. To be able to Control the amount, I always work with 2 jugs.. so I can mix my milk back and forth. :-) You do that too already?

    • @aprilp614
      @aprilp614 7 лет назад

      Dritan Alsela hankyou for your reply! Ok, that's the same amount as here in Australia so that's definitely helpful! I find that when I 'attempt' latte art I end up with too much foam in the cup but watching your videos has shown me how to fix that!! no, I only use one jug, that's just what I was told when I started...

    • @dritanalsela
      @dritanalsela  7 лет назад +1

      Hi April, happy to hear that the video has been useful! Well, I think you should try with two jugs.. it really helps controlling the consistency of the foam :) If you do, let me know how it goes ;-)

    you can do latte?

  • @paulli7696
    @paulli7696 7 лет назад +5

    hi dritan why do you keep pouring the milk into multiple cups?

    • @paulli7696
      @paulli7696 7 лет назад

      I mean back and forth between pitchers

    • @kchappelle
      @kchappelle 7 лет назад

      I think he does that to get the right density of milk foam. If the foam is too thick on your pouring pitcher, you can pour some off.

    • @dritanalsela
      @dritanalsela  7 лет назад +20

      Hey there, yes. It's indeed a way to keep the milk moving. If you don't, the foam separates from the milk and you end up loosing the nice microfoam/crema which you need.

    • @clairemhle1
      @clairemhle1 7 лет назад +3

      It's mad skill that you can froth milk for multiple latte and still be able to manage that micro foam. I can't even make it smooth for one. "Thumbs up"

    The tall glass is a latte right? The drinks in the mug with a pattern are flat whites that's how costa coffee makes them anyway, So I never understand why all these vids are called latte art

    • @dritanalsela
      @dritanalsela  6 лет назад

      Hey Luke, the ones in the tall glass are called Latte Machiatt. And concerning the other question: Latte Art does not refer to art on "Lattes". It's the general term for describing the "milk art" regardless of the drink. So milk art on a Cappuccino or Flat White is also "Latte Art" (=milk art) Hope this was helpful

      @TheLukazade137 6 лет назад

    don't the espresso shots 'die' after 10 seconds?

    • @BulliezInc
      @BulliezInc 7 лет назад

      Alyssa Vang not completely . I would say 20 sec max , depending on many factors .

    • @urbndecay1861
      @urbndecay1861 7 лет назад +1

      Crema when it comes out of the portafilter is composed of the oils and CO2 that is created though the process. As time passes the C02 is lost which is why if you wait too long (10, 20, + seconds) it will look more like an oil slick. You can see this really well when for example you pour a 60 second old shot into water for an americano. When you pull shots directly into a cup there is much less CO2 loss from the disruption that happens when pouring from a shot glass into a cup, so if you shoot directly into a cup you will have much more time (20 - 25 seconds depending on setup, equipment, grind, roast, etc. etc).
