- Welcome back to another video! We've all heard the phrase "gear doesn't matter" and this camera is proof that gear doesn't matter when you want to start learning photography. We recently got this camera from a thrift shop and we were surprised with the images we were able to capture using this gem! The old sensor and lens produces images that resemble pictures shot on a 35mm film.
Pentax isn't as popular of a camera brand as it used to be, but their reputation can be traced all the way back to the film days. We also shoot on analog Pentax cameras for our personal projects from time to time and their optics are some of the best - and still highly regarded (Takumar Lenses) to this day.
This Optio RS 1000 is very small, lightweight, and inconspicuous which Kate enjoyed using for small family trips like on this video. Since we bought this one, it's always been in Kate's bag or purse. She doesn't leave the house without her tiny personalized camera. Our experience with this camera is nothing short of awesome. What are your thoughts about these old P&S cameras? Let us know in the comments. Cheers!

NICE PHOTOS!!! 😮👏
Thank you!
I assume there will be more and more of these types of cameras becoming available as many people switch to phones only. My pocket point & shoot use to be a Lumix LX5 but I sold it to help fund a Ricoh GR. The Ricoh is small and has a great lens (and functionality) but the zoom of the LX5 was very useful sometimes. Enjoyed the video.
We’re seeing a lot of these older compact cameras getting donated to the thrift stores in our area. Thanks for sharing your thoughts! 🙂
nice review
thank you!

❤️
Nice colors, but a shame about the blown out highlights on landscape shots.
Could you please give us more detailed information about how you edited the photos in lightroom or even give us your custom preset please? Thx and nice photos!
Thank you! We are planning on making more tutorials in the future, please stay tuned!

@@mk.weddings thank you po
You’re welcome! Stay tuned 😊
awesome! what camera did you use to film this?
The good old Lumix GH5 🙂
@@mk.weddings Which picture profile did you use on the GH5 ?
what the heck? why is the photo quality so vibrant and clear?
Right? Our favourite thing about it is the lens characteristics. The way it flares and the halation is very reminiscent of the film days.
*Note: the JPEGs were all edited with our custom preset.
It's very over sharpened. Worse than an iPhone. Looks terrible IMO
Thanks for sharing your thoughts! 🙂

Some shots seems to be from film cameras! 😮
Agreed. It could be the older sensor technology
Hi!!!! kababayan!!!! hahaha just wanna ask if all photos you showed are raw? or edited na?
They’re all (lightly) edited JPEGs.
Name of lightroom preset??
We used our own custom presets.
