Annual "full power" test of the AHAB (All Hazards Alert Broadcast) system of Modulators along the Washington State coastline. The "Wail/Attack" signal is sounded for three minutes with voice announcements before and afterwards. As always, the test is done at the same time as the annual "Great ShakeOut" statewide earthquake drill and coastline tsunami drills.
This year's "full power test" was conducted differently than in the past. The siren now "clicks" instead of producing static when it activates (did not know about this until I was editing this.) Secondly, the Spanish translation of the voice announcement utilizes the newer voice heard during "routine" tests followed by the usual "static" sound. Finally, a Russian translation was added in.
This siren is located at Squalicum Harbor off South Harbor Loop drive next to a set of public restrooms. It was installed in November of 2017. I'm planning on returning here next month for the routine Westminster Chime test.
Skip to 1:29 if you don't want to listen to the message
4:20 is the final wind down
What made this test scary was that little blue strobe light on the top of the siren
Strobe light sirens are actually quite scary
I don't think strobe light sirens are scary
How
You recorded this a day in the future? Also is there a large Russian population in Washington? Seems a strange choice for a third language.
At least 1,500 immigrants from the Soviet Union migrated to Whatcom County years ago. That might explain it.
Im pretty sure attack and wail on the modulator mean different tones, this is wail and attack is the just traditional siren noise if you get what i mean
I played this video, and my cat is looking out all the windows for a tornado............🐱🤣🤣🤣🤣🤔❗
Great video
Wow this is my first time hered it saying Spanish
It was Russian, but still, first time I heard it speak a different language.
Looks like a police car with that blue light
is it okay if this is used in a video?

I don't really like sirens that have strobe lights
Why not have every langage? Eventually, someone somewhere is going to have no idea what's going on.
I sometimes wonder why they didn't choose French-Canadian instead of Spanish considering that Whatcom County borders Canada.
The first one was spanish.
Is spanish european
The second announcement sounds like Russian.
That's what it was.
Oh
I don't know why it was speaking Russian, lol.
