Diana is one of Conan's staff. If you look at the driver's license card at the end of the bit it shows she's actually in her 30's so it's not 100% real. But Conan's staff has amazing chemistry with him and each other. That was one of his best decisions, to start doing comedy bits with them like a real life version of The Office. Watch him hunt down his assistant's Gigolos mug.

Its actually real. You don't need license in cities. Public transport is a thing.
In LA everyone doesn’t drive. LA traffic is Stoooooppid. So you’ll mess around and be in traffic for hours trying to get to work. Public transportation and even walking are ideal for a lot of situations.

I taught driver's ed for 10 years. Definitely a brake, that we installed after we picked the car up. No gas, but when my boss used to teach, they had steering wheels, too.

Conan ended his talk show I believe last year. Right now he has a podcast called “Conan O’Brien needs a friend” very funny. He is working on something for HBO but has been very secretive about it and taking his time. To his credit he was one of the best American talk show host but ended his time because if I remember correctly he felt cable is losing its viability and that streaming was the future and is choosing to embrace the format.

Love this. During the 90s, the zoo I worked for in PA, signed on to be Conan's "animal people" , in New York, for several years. We did over a dozen appearances there and Regis, and a few for Jay Leno in LA. Conan was the coolest and most normal host ever. Regis was awesome as well, don't ask me about Kathie Lee, you are not to make eye contact or speak to her in anyway.
Many videos of Conan with his staff - especially with Jordan Schlansky are good, and "Steven Yeun & Conan Visit A Korean Spa". Also the ones with his assistant Sona, like when they went to H.R.
Taking driver's lessons will lower the insurance rates for a new driver. It's very expensive to have drivers under 21 and passing a driver's course helps lower that cost.

So many people forget, or don't know, that Conan graduated with highest honors (magna cum laude - the top 5% of his class) with a degree in history and literature from Harvard! Not only is he so funny, but unbelievably intelligent!

Hopefully I'm not getting too redundant with this story, but my last "professional" pizza delivery was to Ice Cube's house (and Ice Cube himself), in Tarzana, CA., March, 1996 (I know, because I quit and got married a few days later, and my 27th wedding anniversary just took place). $12.50 for a two-topping medium pizza. $15.00 handed over, keep the change. He used to come into the pizza parlor, too, with his wife and 2 kids, and he drove a black Mercedes station wagon...with mag wheels.

I knew someone that had glass marbles to throw at another cars windshield during road rage moments. The glass marble is like a rock that breaks on contact and leaves little evidence, glass mixes with windshield glass. Crazy.

That really is Diana Chang and she did work for Conan. I had a working relationship with Team Coco and The Conan O'Brien show and Diana was the person I received emails from and who supplied me (and our pop culture media site) content and advance links of the show to promote. In 2019, I was invited by the Conan show to attend a taping of Conan Con (where he filmed his show over four days in San Diego during San Diego Comic-Con with Comic-Con celebs) as a member of the press and for promoting the show over the years. Diana sent me the invite via email. I think I was there the third night of filming - the show featured Orlando Bloom & Cara Delevingne who were at Comic-Con to promote their new series 'Carnival Row.' We were also given a custom Conan Funko Pop!, which he had four different Pop!s to give out (one for each day's show). A few minutes prior to the show beginning and filming, Diana sought me (and my two guests) out, personally introduced herself, and handed us our Conan Con swag bag. That is definitely her ☺
Probably the funniest line I ever heard on one of these Conan / Ice Cube / Kevin Hart ride-alongs was when Kevin was insulting Conan for his lack of an a**. He said the pockets of Conan's jeans touch in the back.
Oh yeah, I love taking this ride with this crew. That's the kind of car our driver instructer had.

At 2:48 that's EXACTLY what my drivers ed teacher told me. I drove only once for him and he said I didn't need any more driving time. That was 45 years ago.

Eastern Europe comment here: Student driver cars here have all 3 pedals mirrored (clutch, break gas). And yes, we mostly drive manuals. If you get your license on a manual car you can drive an automatic as default, but not the other way round.

In the 90’s in NY we had a trailer behind the high school with a screen up front and like 10 driver seats with a wheel, gas and brake pedal. The screen would show pov footage of a car driving and we had to pretend we were driving. We also did real driving with a teacher, don’t think they had a break.

When I took driver's ed in high school, the car we drove had a brake on the passenger side as well. Makes the instructor less nervous with new drivers.
That brake mechanism can be easily installed to any car, it's just a cable that goes from passenger side to driver brake pedal arm. It doesn't have to be manufactured on that car, it's an add on

Conan is the best, I don't know if he is on anymore because I don't watch those late night talk shows anymore, but when I did I remember when their was a comedy writer's strike and Conan's show was the best, and it turned out his show was the most watched show during the strike, and the thing I loved the most was that Conan sang with a guitar a country song in a awesome country outfit, it was awesome, I will say it again, Conan is the Best, shortly after that if you wanted to see him you had to pay for a subscription for some app to watch him, and he did this funny thing with a dime where they spin flicked it to see how how it would spin and each time he would try to make it spin longer and the audience loved it 🙏

When I had drivers ed. they had cars like that. Btw, we didn't have to take it. It was an elective. I think they should bring it back! The amount of people out there that don't seem to know the most basic rules of the road is astounding!
yes it is true that driving instructors have a brake to keep people from doing really dumb stuff
however... when I took driver's education they did not have a brake and you just knew that they were not happy with your driving by the screaming... lol

In my country, Denmark, to get a driver's license you will have to go to a "driving school". The teachers are trained driving instructors and you have to have 4 lessons on a closed track, to get used to the car and how to stop and go and work the gears. (It's always manual gears), before you even get to drive in traffic. Then comes 29 lessons of theory and 16 lessons with actually driving in traffic with the instructor next to you. (All lessons are 45 minutes).
Then comes 4 lessons on a track again - this time with lessons in cornering, breaking and evasive maneuvers at different speeds on both dry and wet surface. (Parts of the track has an surface made of epoxy, which is flooded with water, to make it slippery).
And finally there's a test in the theory stuff and a test in actual driving, while a censor from a government agency sits next to you. The instructor isn't in the car during the test.
Those are the minimum requirements. You can easily have more lessons, if the instructor deems it necessary. The whole thing usually cost 2.000-3.000 US $.
Btw: The instructor has a gas pedal, a brake pedal and a clutch in his side, as well as his own mirrors (inside the car, so he can watch the face of the driver, to see if the driver looks around at the right times/directions, and outside the car so he can see if the driver overlooked something/somebody).
No steering wheel, but a display that shows the speed of the car and if the left or right blinker is on.

Uhmm, actually the drivers in pretty much all cars have their own brake.
It's the passenger in a drivers ed car that gets an extra brake. Although I think in some cities I've driven in they've mastered the art of using the horn instead of the brakes.
