    As someone who has owned this game since it first came out in early access many years ago, I've always played it for a bit and stopped, then came back to it a few months later, and stopped, and so on. I've always loved it but my city planning has always been poor to say the least and I end up screwing myself over. Watching you play in realistic mode has given me some fresh inspiration and will be back on it again tomorrow night i think. Good work

    the biggest thing with this game is literally the modding aspect, i for example have 1104 mods working at the same time on workers and resources, and it never crashes, this game is the most moddable game i have ever seen

    • @lordmetzgermeister
      @lordmetzgermeister 26 дней назад

      It does crash from time to time but that's regardless of the amount of mods installed.

    • @valyshknee4203
      @valyshknee4203 26 дней назад +2

      @@lordmetzgermeister no no no it does not, only mods that do have conflict with the actual game files or refuse to load, such as the GDR poster mod adding in 1990s fictional DDR posters and the mods marked non-compatible

    There is few way to make money in game: easiest way is buy ingredient at custom, make product, and sell it in custom, another: set a farm and make alcohol/cloth and sell it. Set a farm with 6/12/18 big fields, conenct it with large silo. (also you can buy corps on border but it make huge traffic ) , but to process all you need ppl so you need to build city :)

    This game is so in depth I am getting overwhelmed, even on easier difficulties. Just started yesterday, so maybe it just takes time.

    This game opened my mind and I was able to love this game so much, obviously in the beginning I was skeptical but with each community report, updates, and that noise clicking in my head, of each time the developer added something I have thought about years ago back in the days when CS came out, I was losing faith because years passing, and no real big city builder game competitors, Cities Skylines was like that one we all loved because it surpassed Sim City, and added a lot of things that was limited in the history of SC, but after years Cities Skylines became comfortable with everyone, a fan base so involved to make it great, the community help the game to reach a unthinkable success, modders saved it...not going to give credit to devs because after 8 years they dropped Cities Skylines 1 for the sequel and not thinking about all that stuff we still wanted, devs just got unaware of the real situation, and the sequel is a mess, didn't add anything new to previous city builder games, and the game had a absurd lack of variety, content, and no sand, no new mechanics for tools, anything to make our lives easier, not giving a f about the modders who will take years to fix CS2 and they may will make another sequel trying to get our trust 🤡 ....
    And here's Workers and Resources Soviet Republic, a game who got a lot better because it was early access, a city builder game only functions better if the community can get involved to help the game to improve though the time, WRSR managed to go it, has tons of features that Cities Skylines will never dream of doing, and change the mindset of people who are used to Cities Skylines will never get used to this game because they would never tolerate to wait for things to realistically to get build, which explains why the game is not that big on steam because the meta implanted on people's minds is that Cities Skylines is the best city builder ever, and they can't give a chance to WRSR 😢 This game deserves to be way more recognized by people, there's no big marketing to make this game more famous, most of the people when think about city builder games they think about Sim City and Cities Skylines 😭 for all the city builder enjoyers we all can agree that WRSR made a lot of improvements, mechanics that makes it unique, imagine a city builder where you has to get gravel so you can do gravel roads and you have to wait rhe construction to be done, and also vehicles who will do the job, and they also need fuel, so you have to get combustible for your citizens and workers so you can profit, this game is definitely complex, not made for everyone, it's all because people want city builder games like CS, they wants roads built in seconds, zone buildings and have no control of sizes and height, not being able to change buildings with modular mechanics, having a map with tiles, no life and not real simulation in the cities.... Workers and Resources Soviet Republic for me it's like AI technology, we just got into it, we know the potential, all it needs is to be well utilized and by the right hands, and Cities Skylines represents the creation of Internet, which it was a big hit, people wanted it, everyone knows and uses it, and people managed to create a lot of other things using Internet, and Sim City represents the first Computers, it was the best thing ever to be created, changed everything in the world, for better and also made room for the next advancements...
    Computers were all looking ahead for AI technology, and we're living this era, Workers and Resources Soviet Republic is the first step in the right direction, and the next city builder game is gonna be the future of the genre.... Cities Skylines 2 isn't because it's too similar to the old one and become of what happened it will not succeed anything because if there's more city builder games people will go after different things, Cities Skylines 1 is no longer in the run, the sequel fell behind trying to take over.....I doubt they will get ahead of the curve with WRSR in the way and the developer planning for his next game of Workers and Resources and I'm extremely excited for this day, even more than GTA 6 release.

    Love this game! @bballjo and @PartyElite are both doing excellent, different realistic mode starts right now.
    Pressing F1 once turns on the grid, pressing F1 twice turns on snap to grid. No more "trying" to align with it.
    F2 is the topography, which is much better for respecting your terrain than the grid colors.
    F3 for underground when constructing pipes/underground wires.
    F4 for road/rail snapping--when road planning is being wonky try turning this off and see if it's better.
    There is a quickbar at top (all the down arrows under game title) that you can add frequently used buttons (literally almost every single button, including side-bar ones) for quick number 1-0 access. Very useful for roads, paths, or anything else you find yourself having to navigate menus lots or forgetting where they are--like distribution offices for me, I can never remember where they are, even after hundreds of hours.

    Looks just like what I saw back in ‘82. Fresh concrete in the USSR looked terrible the day it was poured because they produced their quota for The Plan whether they had enough sand, aggregate, or cement to get the mix right. I’m a sucker for the soviet nostalgia!

    a shame this deep simulation "city builder" is so ugly, but i guess that it makes sense given the context, i would have liked to see more "brutalist architecture", those buildings in the current game look mostly hyper generic and bland

      Please take a look at the workshop. It lifts the game up to another level.. buildings vehicles landscapes and special POVs from the eastern block.
      at beginning it was a one man project, now they are 3-5 people before getting a publisher. For such a little team an inpressive job, especcially in the sum of different game machanics

    Thanks for covering this Raptor! This game can be dialed up to 11 in difficulty with the max realism settings. It's a really excellent game that is like no other city builder I've played but can be really challenging. I'd highly recommned Bbaljo for tips and tricks on how to play. For new players starting on v1.0 I suspect it will be a little overwhelming in terms of complexity but if you like that kind of game then it's hard to name a game better better than this. www.youtube.com/@bballjo
