Why would lean help seat a set of piston rings? I agree with the second guy, try to prevent cyl wash from excessive rich mixtures. However a "lean" burn has nothing to do with seating the rings. More than anything the cyl wall prep for the type of ring and how they are installed has all to do with ring seat. On a freshly honed block the cross hatch looks like little "hills and valleys" if you could view it with a microscope. The idea is to fire the engine ready to go and let the ring package "seat" by taking off the sharp edge of those microscopic peaks. Often things are not right and instead of knocking them off the rings pretty much "roll over" that relatively sharp peak from the hone. When that happens the rings will eventually seat but take wayyyy longer to do. And even then it's kind of like a scuffing action. All engine builders have their own procedures to setting up a scenario for the rings to seat. Some will spec a certain grit hone for a certain ring, then swab the cylinders with clean paper towels and ATF. Then install the rings "dry" meaning they use just a light amount of ATF on the rings only. Don't hurt to squirt some drops of oil on the skirt when installing, but avoid the piston dump into a jug of oil. Mind you the procedure I just mentioned is only for those machine shops and builders who dial in a certain grit hone on a sunnen or equivalent type of machine hone, for a certain brand and type of ring. I've seen this procedure practically "seat" the rings on the engine stand as it's rotated by hand for dropping the distributor. I know I went into a big deal about ring science and all I wanted to really say is that a "lean" engine is not necessarily ideal for seating piston rings. Guys, 700+hp burnout shit box = no major issues and zero leaks.
12k to 60k+ dedicated race car = leaks, breaks and a slew of various failures and issues.
What friggin luck, twisted needs to share it Mullet, Ruby and Leroy. I hope I get a chance to marvel at Mullet up close again and maybe Ruby and Leroy one day too. Yall are awesome.
Hell yeah brother!! 😎 🇺🇸 🦅 DO IT FOR DALE! #3 ✌️
Does anyone realize Cleetus is going to make burnouts as popular in the USA as they are in Australia!
Hell yea brother! Got my orders in i hope i can get a turbo to put on my foxbody cobra or my gt500!
*If you can afford to buy those cars especially a gt500 then you should be able to afford a turbo as well 🤷♂️*
Seeing that safety gear makes me smile GOOD WORK CLEET!
hearing MONTH OF FREEDOM is such blessing
I still believe you guys should add a second extension to the drivers side exhaust pipe and paint it to match the headers
George just makes it man, I gotta laugh with him I can not help it I surprise myself when I lol
Hell yeah brother can’t wait to see what you put that new ford motor in
Leroy or mullet.
@@spensinthevalley3099 the internet would burn down and it would be GLORIOUS

Nothing better than a Big Block. No effort No stress that motors just chilling.
That was insane. Couldn't believe how much those tires were flexing on the dyno haha. So a stock 8.8 Crown Vic axle can handle all that power? looked exactly like the one I got under mine. Wild man.
As long as he doesn't hook up he'll be ok. 8.8s are pretty stout units.
yeah stock tires were acting as a fuse. with a real tire id bet the 8.8 pops and that can be dangerous with a c clip axle.
That exhaust needs some flappers on it to complete the look.
Forreal!
Get more tractor flaps lol
Dang brother I’d like to get one of them turbos hell ya
Why the hell are you talking like that?
I hope this leads to more big blocks in the fleet 👍 also, you should throw a good handbrake in twisted tea
Love the sound of all them cubic inches! Sounds like freedom!
Good Burnout All the wheel speed.
I would still add some extra bars off the roll cage down to the rear suspension points. All that flex will bite someone when they least expect it.
This is message number 113 of "I want Cleetus to buy George a new truck" campaign.
Cheers
George has a truck, he’s just putting together an engine for it….
Cleetus didn't pay for it though, my campaign dates back to when Cleetus and George raced and Cleetus rubbed George's daily. Not cool
Put that motor in George's Blazer and run NA class. (with a scramble button for a lil' giggle gas) I Iike how the mic on the camera is like, "Nope, I don't get paid enough for those db's"
Little bit of cheating huh?
@@billmadison2032 n/a means nitrous assisted, no cheating here.
A "little shot of nitrous" is NOT a scramble button.
But I get what you are saying.
@@bbdl7042 redefining shit to suit your limited brain power doesn't make you right N/A has always been naturally aspirated.
@@williamstamper442 yup it's just one nitrous button somebody is a poser trying to be cool,.he tried to correct himself only to look stupid
I mean, I get being excited by 700hp, regardless. But it IS TEN LITERS.
Glad I'm not the only one thinking this 700÷10.3= 68hp per litre nothing too special
This is after drive train losses and NA...........boost does wonders and how much do you think that thing is making at the crank? For an NA engine, it is doing good and probably at a level that would live for a while.........you do remember that these guys aren't exactly nice with the abuse and lack of maintenance, right?
@@CGT80 yeah she's probably loosing a good 80hp. Yeah I guess it being a low performance engine they might get a little bit more life from it honda in the 90s were doing 110hp+ a litre though
@@roycesmart8019 s2000 made 120 hp per liter.
There's something really beautiful about a corporate sponsorship being on the side of an old Crown Vic. It's like the business world is saying "yeah, those cars are still cool" and paying respect to them.
And if I'm honest, it's money well spent, I never heard of Twisted Tea and now I'm thinking about finding it in a store.
It looks mint with the taller pipe so please weld another extension on the exhaust so they match. 🤙🏽
Without a roof, when you hit the loud pedal, hard, won't the pumpkin try to tickle the radiator?
Crown Vic is Panther platform, thus body on frame. Gonna be some twistin' but it's not as bad as you might think.
You can already see the body wrinkling in front of the back tires.
That dam thing needs traction bars. The frame is not happy, It was looking like a piece of liquorice a few times!!! Wow the power is sick! It is gonna dominate !!
Yep I saw that, looked like it wanted to fold in half😂
Lol all my fellow Illinois people know, South Elgin is not pronounced like "L-g-in" but rather "El-gen" 😂 well, not a big deal...but c'mon Cleetus! You even messed up saying Illinois! The S is silent man c'mon now 😂
This!
The wrenching and car progress is where its at. Keep at it.
Sometimes you get the candy bar sometimes you get the wrapper… hahahhha. Freakin love George
Woo!
Can you get a bigger dyno screen on the wall? The tiny laptop is too hard to see.
I wonder how good mpg's it would get 🤣
Love that your hopping in a fire suit even If it’s just for 1 skid. Safety first ❤️
love to see your hard work pay off. you guys deserve this one! you created a ripper
