      No, the time they filled up that car with gas instead of oil and left it parked next to the pump and tank was beyond sketch and full blown ludicrous. This would have flashed and been out pretty quick. That tank of gasoline would have left a crater the size of his house

      Toluene and diesel is what ran on their turbo F1 cars on in the 80s.
      Toluene for the octane and bang and diesel for a longer burn time on the power stroke.

    You should retry a HP pull with the original octane fuel after the brake clean to see if it cleaned the injectors and created better atomization of fuel, to get more HPs!!

    I genuinely love this type of video, it reminds me of the good old days of Cooper and Cleet with the C7 doing turbo exhaust whistle tomfoolery.     I would love to see how a propane conversion would hold up to a race track. There are lots of propane conversions out there, but how would it hold up to the McFarland Science team stress test.

      Propane is a great fuel for internal combustion engines. Only real problem is that it has way less energy per given unit of volume than gasoline. And unlike methanol it does not have the same cooling effect. I've seen 10 sec drag cars on propane in the past. This has not really been a thing lately but sure, I wouldn't mind seeing some testing done and a Mcfarland science test.
      They could use the Shyster for this. It's got a GM 4.3 V6 so if it blows up there are 10 million more out there

    They do make reusable break clean sprayers where you just buy the fluid, put it in the container, then pressurize it with an air compressor, which might be a more cost effective and less wasteful option. Also might save a few brain cells lol

      Exactly. You can get the same effect from a can of hair spray or even cooking oil spray. It’s not always the fluid being dispensed as much as it is the propellant.

      It's also the best fabric cleaner you'll ever use..ever wonder why the good stuff (non-flammable, carcinogenic, chlorinated brake clean) smells like an old school dry cleaners from pre-1990s?
      It ain't a coincidence..
      Had a ball point pen explode in the pocket of a white uniform shirt when I was working for NAPA in the early eighties, chlorinated brake clean took every last bit of the ink out, no stain, no mess..
      Stuff works a treat on car interior stains..
      The flammable shite is useless. As one would expect from a "safe" nanny-state mandated version of a product.

      I’ll tell you right now, tip small amounts of distilled water into your throttle body while the engine is idling. Use enough so the engine coughs and farts but doesn’t stall, repeat a few times or until performance improves.
      Basically steam cleaning your bores and valves so an oil change afterwards is probably not a bad idea.

    You should go for the 55 gallon drum of brake clean. It is expensive, but overall, way cheaper than many cans of brake clean.

    So with the brake clean fuel test you should try the different temperature paint reducers. Ppg has Dt 860 Dt 870 Dt 885 Dt 895 and Dt 898. Will each temperature of reducer have a different octane rating possibly? Who knows you should try

    The next McFarland science project needs to be some tires mounted horizontally on trailer spindles mounted bumper high on front and back of a good running crown Vic and wall ride all the way around the freedom factory track. Might have build a wall out of k-rails across the track entrance and exit at the start of turn 3. I want to see wide open throttle all the way around with sideways tires on wall and make a new track record!!!!

      WD is really flammable. It's the propellant that's used to force the oil out.

    Propane or natural gas could be a good fuel to try next. It’s been used successfully in some production vehicles, but it would be fun to see a regular vehicle ran on it. Or maybe try camp fuel bottles from the sporting good store. 😛

      Canada has a ton of current model vehicles that run on NG, and you can get LP or NG conversions for just about any vehicle. Just lower fuel mileage and little lower HP.

      Propane/Compressed gas conversions were extremely popular up until the 1970s because it was much cheaper. My family ran their farm equipment originally on compressed butane, then switched to propane for all their tractors and trucks.

    Worked on the old military trucks, that had a " multifuel diesel" engine. Had a fuel density compensator, in the fuel system. Brakekleen, perfume, Jack Daniels, whatever , would run in it, just add enough motor oil, transmission fluid, or gear oil, accordingly.

    You can buy brake clean by the gallon/barrel and fill up pump pressurized spray bottles. Much cheaper than buying cans by the case load.

    Once ran a 1998 Ford explorder 2.5 miles on brake cleaner to get to my boys house when his fuel pump went out. I sat on the radiator support while he drove about 10 mph. Full break clean injected through the throttle body did the trick. Replaced the fuel pump, truck ran for years to come.

    I think you should try running it on stock (animal) Iodine says extremely flammable on the label should be available at most farm supply shops in 20l (5 gallons)
