    I am in awe. I have never been the biggest fan of English lute music, however, you have given Dowland a new voice. It seems a new voice that really speaks to me, thank you. I really am looking forward to your recording.

      Thank you!!! That means a lot to me... and I also think there's still much to explore and express in this music.

    Brilliant! Are these your own embellishments or did you take them from a contemporary manuscript?

    • @borzuljan7713
      @borzuljan7713  4 года назад +3

      Thank you! The embellishments are roughly based on the Folger Ms version, but I might take out some and add some others every time I play it ...

    Terrific performance! Next to 'Lachymae' this is probably Dowland's best known piece. I couldn't begin to count the number of times I've heard it by lutenists good and not so good (in the latter category, I've even had a bash at it myself). This makes me feel like I'm hearing it for the first time--and fairer than that I cannot say.

    Bor's past experience in jazz and Middle-Eastern music lights a fire under all his lute playing. There's is simply no greater living lutenist ! We await more recordings - Byrd, Bach, and maybe a collaboration with the fabulous Vivid Consort ?
