      Thank you Youthman! It’s just an inexpensive lapel mic but you were correct, it made a big difference.

      @@blazermdx Biggest thing (even with inexpensive mics) is the proximity of the mic to your mouth. You don't get the reverb like you do with a camera mic so your dialogue is much clearer.

    Great video. Dude when you put the amp on your speaker, my heart dropped! LOL Audyssey sounds pretty cool listening at 2x speed. :)

      @blazermdx  4 года назад +1

      Yeah, if the amp was any heavier and the amp didn’t feel as solidly built as it is, I would have used that Energy center as a lift.
      My room is so small, I am having to get a little creative to get decent angles:)

      @@blazermdx I gotcha. I would have put a towel underneath it to protect the speaker and the bottom of the amp but that's just me. I'm SUPER OCD when it comes to those things.

    I like the video. I am a little confused about the goal though. You are setting up three relatively small speakers with no Sub, so it makes sense that Audyssey detected the fronts as large. I think if you only hooked up tweeters there it would still say they were large. The center channel was probably detected accurately for its freq output. If you told the system that you had a sub, but didn't hook one up, I bet it would set the crossover of the fronts to 80hz. And the level setting is only trying to balance the outputs of the three channels, not hit a specific volume if I understand it correctly. So based on your results I would say that the output of the Marantz channels are more consistent, not lower. I am a bit of a new enthusiast, and my recent experience is with a Yamaha receiver and its room correction setup. If I am incorrect, please help me understand. I am considering an amp like this to power my klipsch r820f's, r34c, and r51's. Its probably overkill for the center/surrounds, but I feel like the towers could use the power, especially with music. BTW Im running a Yamaha aventage 1080. I may go with a 3ch Emotiva for just the fronts, any thoughts comparing the two?

    Great video, at timeline 9.45, you have said hooked up correctly, could you please give me a short break- up that part, I am trying to use my Yamaha rxv-3220 as a power amplifier, to drive my front speakers with my new Denon avr 3600H, I would also like to know, how to set the volume level on the Yamaha. Thank you.

    • @blazermdx

      I’m no expert in using two separate receivers to power speakers within the same system but as long you use the Denon as a processor and the Yamaha as the amplifier, the Denon would handle all the setup calibration.
      I have my Denon 3300 connected to the Marantz amp using RCA’s.
      I would advise joining one of the audio forums, like AVS, where I know people have done what you are trying to do.
      Is there a reason you aren’t just using the onboard Denon amps for the power?

      @@blazermdx Thank you for your reply, and I appreciate your advice, I wanted to hook up my front and if possible the center speaker to my yamaha amp, because I was reading in different forums and youtube videos, that driving all 9 channels with a low output amp (105w in my case) will create more distortion at higher volumes, and moreover, the specs these companies show are based on two channel driven, so by assigning main front to another amplifier will leave less stress on the Denon!

      You are reading correctly. If a 7.2 receiver says it puts out 120 watts, that’s usually 2 or 1 channels being in used. When you take that 120 watt rating and use all 7 of the receiver’s internal amps, that 120 watt rating can drop drastically.
      I love That Home Theater Dude! I’ve been a subscriber for a while now. That Emotiva amp would be a better option for you, to make sure your speakers are getting robust power. Be careful though, most high quality amps use All Channel Driven ratings but I’m starting to see some manufacturers only provide 2 channels driven power ratings.
      The good news is that most rooms inside most homes, don’t need a ton of watts to get louder than it’s safe to listen. I just like the peace of mind having a dedicated amp, though I likely don’t need it in my small room. But who in this hobby doesn’t like overkill:)

    Your db score shows that Denon receiver has slightly more power than Marantz power amp. No wonder you hear no difference. :)

    • @blazermdx
      @blazermdx  4 года назад

      Yeah, saw that. I just don’t think Audyssey is a goon indicator of amplifier output. This was more of an experiment than anything.
      With that said, it sure would have been nice if I noticed a difference, after shelling out the $800. I will A/B the receiver with some more power hungry speakers down the road.
      Thanks for stopping by!

      @@blazermdx Thank you, good video! Correct, it's a approximation. I myself have Marantz SR7013 (2x125W 8 ohm) running 5.2.4 config. Harman/Kardon speakers with only 83 db efficiency. Was thinking myself buying MM7055 for ground 5 speakers and let SR 7013 run 4 atmos speakers. BUT I can run at max 65 volume (-15 in db?), it gets too loud (small room)! So I would like to test it like you did, but I think it would be wasted money. :)

      @blazermdx  4 года назад

      MrDante10no Tje 7013 will be my next receiver. You have great taste!
      This amp was more of a future proof item more than anything. A larger room, with more speakers, having the extra juice is probably a good idea, for the 5 main channels.
      Glad I helped save you some money. Haha

    • @MrDante10no
      @MrDante10no 4 года назад

      @@blazermdx Yes, SR 7013 is a great receiver, payed 1500 US$ here in Europe with 5 year warranty. Just make sure to buy Audyssey app for 20$ and let Audyssey correct only up to 200 Hz (base frequency). Thanks to app you remove the "veil" over speakers. Here in Europe we have native Auro 3D blu rays and they sound spectacular, even better than Atmos and DTS-X. I have front and rear hights because in Europe it's very difficult to set up ceiling speakers. Btw, Auro 2D surround upmixer sound best for stereo sources and RUclips, better than Dolby Upmixer. :)

    so...is there any difference?

    • @blazermdx
      @blazermdx  4 года назад +1

      I put some notes in the description but basically, I didn’t really notice a difference between adding the Marantz vs using the amps in the Denon.
      With that said, my room is only about 11’ x 15’ and I normally only watch movies in the -20 to -15 range.
      This addition was to see if I would hear a difference and to future proof me some, when I move and get a dedicated theater room.
      It seems on par with the Emotiva, B&K, Parasound Amos I have owned in the past.

      This is just an amplifier, so it doesn’t have HDMI or ARC.
      With that said, I have this amplifier hooked up to a Denon X3300. The Denon hasn’t had any ARC issues at all.
      Sounds like you are having ARC issues?
