- First let me apologize for the shaky camera work and editing, was just learning to use the new camera and how to edit. I promise the quality will get better. In this video we explore parts of the ghost town of Kellettville, Pa. A old lumber and railroad town on the banks of Tionesta Creek. Like, subscribe and add your comments.
Thank you for making these videos
thank you so much for these videos, Kellettville was my hometown,, Debbie Nason Kirchartz
My grandparents and great grandparents are from Kelletville
I like how you incorporated the old photos into the video for a then and now look at the locations.
Thank you for this. I grew up in Kellettville. My parents owned the Kellettville Tavern (now Cougar Bob's). My father told me it used to be a school house.
I done some exploring down in that valley bout 20+ years ago where that kiln was, found a brick that sed FALLS CREEK PA, got home later and looked up where that was its over NEAR DUBOIS, it was early summer and very thick and swampy I recall!!!
Terry...it would be nice to know some history of the Queens area, keep up the good work, you do an awsome job
My grandfather was the pastor at the Methodist church. My dad was born in the manse in 1921. We grew up in Mercer and I don’t think my dad was ever back there again.
Love your history 'lessons'
I am not in the US but love to watch old towns and their stories 👍🤗
Family camp in Forest County. Fish there at camp ground. Also salmon creek. Thank you.
Thank you for making this video and for sharing the history. I’ve fished the Branch for years and always wondered what the concrete pillars and walls were the remains of.
I almost purchased a property very close to Cougar Bob's a few years back.
What a great video, so informative and I like that you actually walked the various sites too.
Thank you for sharing, much love. xx ❤
Thanks Terry! I've watched and enjoyed every video more than once
nice to know that people appreciate my videos. Thank you
Thanks for the video. Have a camp not far from here. Looking for metal detecting locations. The last area you mention where the Italian immigrants lived is of interest. Cellar holes may be a good place to start.
There's an old foundation about a mile upstream from the Tionesta creek and Bear Creek confluence. I'd like to know what that was.
That was the boiler house for a sawmill. The Bear Creek area will be the subject of a future video.
@@forestcountyoutback7540 thank you sir. I've heard everything from homestead to gold mining town. Lol
Terry, somewhat familiar with Kelletville area, where are the remains of the Kiln, by the confluence of The Branch and Salmon Creek?
On the Branch about 50 yards or so upstream from Salmon Creek, directly opposite are the remains of the kindling wood factory.
@@forestcountyoutback7540 thanks!
Terry, would you know where the Methodist Church was in Kelletville?
The road through the campground was Church Street. The church was at the end of road in the area where the pavilion is now. There was also a picnic grove just past the church where Old Home Days was held until 1971 until the Corps refused to allow it. I have a photo of the church, I will look for it and post it maybe tomorrow.
Awesome video, I camp walk to Cougar bobs every time I camp in the forest. Old salmon creek road is a great walk since they closed the road. I walk by a little place returning to the forest that you might know. Going down The Branch Rd away from 666 past the campground right after the bend below tannery hill there is a little run down old house there with a sign that says Indian spring. Any info on that little place?
Don't believe it is a original Kellettville house, just an abandoned camp.
