These old millsites are good clean fun to look at and daydream about the old days. When reading Beers Historical Record about my old hometown Kittanning, i learned that even small streams you could hop across had mills on them. All of those streams now end in drains at the top street in town, 3/4 of a mile from the river.

At around 17:00, that piece of metal submerged in the creek, could it have been a section of rail? Accidenly left over when they dismantled the bridge? BTW. very informative videos. Went and found the ruins of a couple of mills in the Salmon Creek/The Branch area based on one of your posts. History Nerd here!

Thank you SO much for this video! Carl Wassink sent me the link to this and one other video of yours because Levi Clough was my grandfather and I am researching his life. I have only recently started to delve into his Railroad endeavors! He was a very interesting man. One thing - Levi and his son, Levi, Jr. (my father) always told people how to pronounce “Clough” by saying it rhymes with “rough, tough, and enough!” Thank you again for your work - it is fascinating!

I'm not an expert on any of this, but this was probably a significant place to native Americans back in the day. There may have even been mounds and or treasure in this area. Search for out of place artifacts. Our world is much more strange than the people at the Smithsonian institute want you to believe it is. There have been cataclysms in the past that have wiped out whole civilizations. Some of those civilizations were quite advanced. They weren't only cutting lumber and making shingles back there

This was one of my father's favorite fishing spots when I was a child, my younger brother and I came many times with dad to spend a day or two fishing along the stream Fox Creek. Also came here for deer when I was in my late teens. It's nice to see it again and I'm amazed it still exists, I was there in the late 50s and 60s. Thanks, for bringing some old fond memories!

In the early 70's I spent summers with the Schaal family that owned the lumber mill on Little Hickory rd. On several occasions I would get dropped off near the farm on camp 9 rd . I would hike down the trail to the furnace, explore around and fish the stream back to the mill , easily a 6hr adventure . The last time I saw the furnace was 1979 ish , it was still in very good shape . Over the years I've searched for any trace of the furnace with no results until today . Thanks for a cool trip down memory lane ! Now if you can shed any light on the bridge abutment on Creek rd at Newtown Flats and the timbers embedded in the creek that would be fantastic ! Thanks again & stay safe out there .....
