      Thanks! I was quite pleased with that green as well. The foil does a decent job, just needs time to be worked thoroughly

    Great job on the foil … I struggle with the wrinkles … I can never get my edges to lay down enough … even after uv resign or epoxy I can always still feel the edges … it drives me nuts…. I’m gonna try the technique that you done here… thanks so much for sharing!! Happy thanksgiving!!

    • @havenlures

      Happy Thanksgiving! Yeah some lures don’t foil as well as others. I chose a relatively flat sided lure for this video. Looking back it may have been more helpful if I foiled an S Crank body instead. My only suggestion would be; start in the middle, as you work your way up and notice the wrinkles starting very early (low down the side of the body), get the scissors and make little stress relief cuts right down the middle of the wrinkle until you get to the flat part. Buy the cheap tape, it’s just as shiny as the expensive stuff but thinner. Hope this helps!

    Try with thinner foil like from chocolate and gluefor varak-angels milk. Seams are almost invisible.Thats for baits like on your video with "carving"-relef .Vent foil is good for stamping the relef is more visible.

    Have you ever done a holographic or foil technique for plastics.i always wonder how swim baits or shad type lures such as the Tsunami or storm company manufactures these

    • @havenlures
      @havenlures  8 месяцев назад

      I have not dabbled in the soft plastic realm yet but I love that look. I think it’s just a piece of cellophane placed in the mold before pouring/injecting. Unfortunately I don’t know much more than that

      @@havenlures I have checked some u-tube videos out since asking you about this process. I worked on a charter boat as a first mate than later got my Captain's license. We fished on the Chesapeake Bay and it's tributaries primarily for Striped Bass, or what we here in my home state of Maryland refere to as "Rockfish". Anyhow a Fellow Captain was really putting it on the rest of the fleet and kept it a secret about a certain shad he was using. A Tsunami Holographic six inch shad without the lead head built into the shad body is what the shad ended up being. What a game changer this was. It's no be secret now it's probably something else.Chartreuse was the best color.

    What's a good gun to use on this hobby?

    • @havenlures
      @havenlures  6 месяцев назад

      I mainly use the Iwata Revolution CR (roughly $120 CAD) and Creos 270 (around the same price) and I’ve been very happy with these. They’re durable, easy to clean and, in my opinion, do a good job all around. Master airbrushes are a cheaper option and I own a couple of those as well. They spray well but not as durable. Thanks for the question and I hope this helps. If you have any more questions please don’t hesitate to ask!

    • @awakenedtotruth8419

      @havenlures Bring us along if it works out. I used erasers to polish copper electronic circuitry, and they are good for clogging within their porous rubber. So keep a sheet of copy paper or brown bag near to rub out the contaminants unless it works to your favor.
      I was captivated watching the lure come alive. I wasn't expecting the airbrushing. I liked & subscribed 👍🏿🔔

    • @havenlures
      @havenlures  8 месяцев назад

      Ahhhh! I see, so the eraser is doing double duty. Smoothing the foil and giving it a polish too. Does it matter what kind of eraser you use?

    what thinner to clean the resin on the brush?

    • @havenlures
      @havenlures  8 месяцев назад

      For UV resin I can use it many times without issue. Because it only cures with UV light I can just wrap cellophane around it to keep dust off and it’s good to go next time. With 2 part epoxies they’re just one time use.

    Can you use uvls instead of the resin

    • @havenlures
      @havenlures  8 месяцев назад

      In my experience, UVLS doesn’t build up high enough on the lure to cover the seam. Resin goes on nice and thick with one coat. That being said, with enough coats, I’m sure it COULD work. But it would take a very long time to get a result you’d be happy with.
