    Wow. First of all you deserve more views, great vid. Second, when you talk about the car being a bit sketchy on the highway, is it a big difference from stock? Like, is it still drivable on the street? I am planning on keeping my car as a daily and still be able to use it at track events.

    • @shortgirllongcar
      @shortgirllongcar  2 месяца назад +1

      Thank you! It is a pretty big difference from stock, I would say it's doable but takes more mental energy to drive with how quick the steering is. If you are worried about this you could consider doing the "medium" angle setting. This will make the car drive much more like stock while still having enough steering angle to have fun with.

    You have Strano lowering springs, on the rears. Strano front spring rate is 550 in/lbs, rear spring rates are 150 in/lbs. The Bilsteins are ok, but those strings are usually paired with Koni Sports.

    The mechanical engineering detail is great. Are there videos of the fabrication? What software is being used to illustrate the suspension, and the CAD work?

    • @shortgirllongcar
      @shortgirllongcar  2 месяца назад +1

      Ashlen used Solid Edge to both design the parts and illustrate them in this video. Unfortunately we did not record much of his fabrication process for these parts but he's already working on his next big suspension project and we are going to do a better job documenting the process next time!

    • @shortgirllongcar
      @shortgirllongcar  Месяц назад

      Thanks! The lug nuts are nothing special, I think the brand was Circuit Performance off Amazon. They've held up decently though and were open ended which I needed for the ARP wheel studs

      Seems like a good bolt-in option to get more reasonable springrates. However we like that how you can adjust ride height and spring preload separately with the BCs along with them having more springrate options

    Have you had any alignmnent issues since installing these control arms on the car since these cars are known to messing in there alignment due to the adjustment being a slide style and not a cam lobe style for the front suspension

    • @shortgirllongcar
      @shortgirllongcar  Месяц назад

      We used to have this issue but don't with the current setup. When I had the Spohn lower control arms with metal sleeve spacers we would find those bolts slightly loose after drift events. Back then we welded washers to the subframe to keep them from moving around in the slots. We now have machined misalignment spacers and torque the bolts to 100 ft/lbs. Haven't seen them come loose with that setup even after several drift events.

    My daughter had an 01 ss, was recently stolen by street take over thieves, and wrecked.
    I bought that car new hahaha. Couldnt find another 01, original owner car with less then 55k on odo for under 20k haha. She couldn't afford a 2015 z28 that came up for sale. However she was able to buu a base model 6cyl, 2015 camaro original owner, stick shift not auto, with very high miles habahaha. Shes gotten zl1 and z28 body knock off parts, 6pt cadillac front brakes, dual 4pt rears L and R rear brakes. Its sitting with a few pieces of pvc for mock for interior cage shes going to tuck some parts as out of way as possible. Heart is a yanked 6.2L hellcat redeye motor. Custom dash cluster that loads a hellcat style banner she made on photoshop. Bride japanese seats. Shift knob from my wifes silvia s15 spec r, a titanium nismo knob. Everythings mocked or sitting. She hasnt drawn/designed her wheels yet. She is wrapping up a cummins swap nomad wagon that will haul her small rennovated airstream bambi, yamaha r1 or sportster to events.
