I've gotta say it...this year was the beginning of my Nightwish fandom and I'm a little sad that Wacken 2013 is over. This show will be forever cherished and I have you wonderful people to thank for that! So in honor of 20,000 subscribers and the Nightwish Train, I present to you my journey with Nightwish Live at Wacken Open Air 2013 from start to finish!!

Nightwish Wacken 2013 is the best live performance by any band ever, in my humble opinion. Thank you for this Mr. Rock n Roll.
I'm an old fart so I got to see Pink Floyd live ... I'd say Nightwish @ Wacken is #2, but a very close #2. :)
Dimmu Borgir live in Oslo with full orchestra is pretty close. Flawless epic performance
Best concert ever for me was Big Brother and the Holding Company with Janis Joplin at the Electric Factory in Philadelphia in 1968. But i didn't get to go to this one live.

How good of a band is Nightwish? Yes.
Can u do their documentaty of Floor's arrival of" lets learn this setlist in 48 hours?" You will know how Floor became a metal goddess.
Excellent suggestion. I second that one. Would love to enjoy that one with you, Mr R & R. You'll have to set aside a bit of time as it's long, and find a version with English subs.

She was a metal goddess before that! She was already great from AF, but in ReVamp just before her burnout we were really already starting to see her reach those next levels. And then she just keeps breaking glass ceilings we didn't know existed since coming back.

Wacken '13 was the most epic live IMHO... It just showcases Floor's power in every aspect and it will go down in history! Thank you for sharing the journey!

I'm also quite late to the Nightwish party but this band got me completely hooked. Watched several concert reaction video's now. They bring so much energy on stage that you feel mental exhausted but it is so addictive.
Heath I love your reactions so much that I subscribed. I discovered Nightwish when this concert came out, and I was just as blown away as you. I am a major rocker throughout the late 70’s, all of the 80’s rock bands and 90’s, I have literally been to hundreds and hundreds of concerts and have met many of those bands. I have one wish before I die, and that is to see Nightwish in concert. I think Wacken 2013 is definitely the best live concert ever. They are stupendous. I never get tired of them and this concert, I can watch it over and over and over again. I really enjoy your reactions more than anyone else I have seen Heath, keep it up!!!

12:17 I actually miss those faces. Those expressions. Jukka was just like Floor: he didn't just drum the songs, he relived the songs every time. Kai may be a better drummer technically, but it seems like drumming is just as exciting for him as peeling potatos. Jukka put way more emotion in his sound.
Jukka reminds me of the Muppet drummer, flailing away but always on beat.

On a serious note: I love your infatuation with Floor (since I share it...), it's very entertaining, but I also love that you don't let that get in the way of your mature and sincere reaction to the darker masterpieces, such as The Poet and the Pendelum and the obviously heartfelt respect you have for Toumas' genius. Thank you for treating my beloved Nightwish with care and respect as well as humour.

the one thing i will never get over about this show. one of the greatest concert performances of all time, and she's up there essentially singing covers of songs originally written for, and recorded by, Two Different People! Doesn't sound like it, does it? unless you had heard any of the original versions, it would never occur to you, would it?

Wacken 2013 ain't over. It's forever immortalized on blu-ray to watch anytime, although I may never watch mine again because I watch too many reaction videos, and I think I'm all Wacken 2013'ed out, lol. More variety, people!!

Don't feel bad that Wacken is over. You still have some great concerts to look forward to. I personally loved the Tampere show and now the Buenos Aires show. Wembly was good, but the bass was a tad high in the mix for my personal preference.🤘👍

Welcome to the magic, man! I've been with Nightwish ever since a friend, may the gods bless him for it, put Ghost Love Score (the original one, with Tarja) into my ears. And Floor is just apex awesome. I've got this concert (and the other major live shows...) on my phone. Every time i travel, i put them up. Watched this one so many, many times...!

Wacken concert is a nice one indeed mostly because of the energy it creates, but if i am to sit down and take everything in i enjoy wembley 2015 more.
I have all concert recordings with Floor on BluRay. Wacken, Wembley, Tampere and Buenos Aires. All four are fantastic.
@XiphiasX10A For sure, though I would say that the song "Storytime" is the odd exception that actually does _worse_ with a powerful singer like Floor. The pacing of your breathing gets all out of whack if you have to take a breath after each phrase! You know how strong a voice Floor has, but the way the phrases are spaced out you can only take a breath every other one if you're singing "pop-style" and relying on your mic for power, like Anette. You can hear just how winded Floor gets by the end, breathing in between each phrase, and never getting to expel the 2nd half of her lungs so she's sitting there with a chest half-full of dead air... to anyone who's had to sing that way it feels like breathing through a straw. XD So score one for Tuomas, knowing his singers well enough to write Anette the perfect one for her style that not even Tarja or Floor could handle comfortably!

You really should try the End of an Era concert, Tarja is amazing, if you want some of the old Nightwish.
