"Noise is a reminder. It's some food for thought. I see it more as an optimistic video than pessimistic. Especially the last 10 seconds of the video, when you see the beautiful forest and the landscape, it should fill you with hope the real world is still out there.
This video is not a criticism about technology or cell phones. Me, all the bandmembers, we love technology. We wouldn't ever have done this record without technology. We love our cell phones, the Internet and all that, but it's a criticism for the addiction that these things cause in human beings. 'Addiction' is the word.
It's such a shame that we have all these wonderful tools that we can for the good, to spread true information and to be connected to the world. I love the idea of social media, I like Twitter, that everybody in the world suddenly has a voice; we have a voice. We can immediately get out there. It's just a matter of what you put out there. And that's what the video is all about."

I have a different favorite band... But Nightwish lyrically has it all down! My other band is Edenbridge. I just love how ethereal and spiritual it sounds.

It is surprising and impressive that after all this time their songs continue to be as thought provoking and relevant.
The end of this video hits me. Two decades ago I'd itch every day to go for a run in an oak woods on the shores of Lake Michigan. I can't explain it in words, but every time I went there, I felt grounded and connected to something greater than myself. I've since surrounded myself with screens that tell me about the world. I don't watch the worst offenders, but I know that I've lost so much just by leaving that old forest behind. That old woods was telling me all that I needed.
You know the true irony of this video? I'm watching it on my phone.

I wont say they lost, more like evolved. Like if you listen albums from early (Tarja) you will see the difference. They music evolves around the vocal they have.
@@cv43480 i agree, it's not the same but you can still hear their uniqueness, like as soon as you hear any of their songs you immediately get "Nightwish vibes". Even with Anette it was a lot more different than Tarja since Tarja is more operatic but that Nightwish sound always stayed

@@cv43480 Im not sure that's true. I mean I agree that their sound is evolved and thank god for that, who would want to listen the same style across 20 years. I'd say its more evolved in the symphonic department but devolved in the metal department. I still love their music, but sometimes I miss the heavier metal sound they had in the first 2-3 albums.

This is one of the best songs I've heard in a long time. Long term nightwish fan here and they never disappoint. Theyre as amazing and poignant now as they were when I was a teenager. Thank you so much for your creations and talents. If this song doesn't make you drop your phone and look at the sky I don't know what will....

I just realised that I have never watched any of the official videos of Human Nature to this day. Somehow I just never cared for them, the music is so immersive I never even got curious about the videos.

Yup.
I discovered Nightwish with Oceanborn, it was my introduction to a more symphonic type of music and a sound that seemed very unique and "magical" at the time.
I Inmediatley became a fan and went to their first show here in my country that same year. Was like a revelation for me in terms of music.
Wishmaster came along at no time and only accentuated even more my love for this (for me) new style of music.
A few years later they released Century Child (which I was eager to listen to) with a new member, Marco. At the time, the album was not easy for me to assimilate, it sounded more trash metal on some bases, outside of the more melodic and fast paced power metal sound that I had recently gotten used to; so I thought it was this new bass player's fault that he brought that style with him. Then that same year, they came with the tour and of course, as always, I attended. I ended up finding Marco's singing a bit too garish and interrupting Tarja's harmony for my liking, which made me more reticent towards him ...,
Fortunately, sooner rather than later I realized how wrong I was about him and how talented and important He is to the band; how that change that I couldn't immediately assimilate really was an evolution towards a more compact sound, and I ended up enjoying Once as one of my favorite albums from release to this days. And also have loved every one that came after.
I have absolutely admired Marco as a singer and bass player ever since and feel a bit embarrassed that it took me maybe two years to assimilate Him and that "new sound" that I absolutely adore now.
Nightwish underwent many significant changes over the years, and in my opinion, they always evolved from those. So even though I feel sad, I hope they overcome this one too, because I want them to continue, even though it is a great loss.
I will miss you Marco, and I hope that one day you'll feel comfortable being part of the band again, because I am a fan of Nightwish and I am also your fan. I wish you the best, whatever path you take!

Зло - те, кто выступая за какие бы то ни было идеи(не зря там сразу два эко-активиста одновременно пританцовывают, один против ядерной энергии, другой за неё) лишь прикрывается ими ради подпитки социального статуса. Пора завязывать с иллюзорными замками-Эголендами и выползать в реальный мир, становиться луддитом при этом совершенно излишне.

Nightwish! My favorite band!
This video always reminds me of what I want to share as an amateur singer and makeup artist. There are just so much fake people on social media, pretending to be something they're not. I just want to remain true to myself, share my real voice, my real job, and be as real and as organic as I can, and maybe inspire other people to do the same. We don't need any more lies out there

I've noticed I highly prefer the album version of the song. The doubled beginning like an echo before the voice is missing here as well as a repeated middle section that I feel works great for the song. But these things are a worthy sacrifice to watch one of the best music videos of the year.
