- Winter is coming and we have a lot of little projects to take care of in this video, working on ALL the channel cars, the jaaaag, the fords, the chevys, the pontiacs, the vaaaans, recovering the seats in the torino, getting a 70 ford truck to run again, and fixing coolant issues on the silver dollar chevy.

I appreciate this episode. No one in the car "RUclips community" really talks about regular maintenance... Cuz it's kind of boring! But you're doing the real work here sir, and you make it entertaining. Thanks
Let me introduce you to…. DD speed shop & Zipties & Bias Plys…. not that I’m certain Peg ever DOES any maintenance but I’ve heard him ponder looking at the oil at least a couple times
I have a derelict fleet of 3 and I hate doing this kind of thing, but it has to be done unless you want to change freeze plugs. it is nice seeing someone with a miny junkyard go through the vehicles.
First time I ever saw someone worry about antifreeze strength. Florida has all the car content and they run water and vise grips probably doesn't care of things freeze.
@@patrickancona1193that Idi should be up on a pole somewhere as a statue
Oddly enough, some of my more popular videos cover regular, routine maintenance 😂
I really like to see that you don't just slap something together and then abandon it, this was really nice to see. It also made me realize I need to check my coolant in my vehicles pretty bad.
This is honestly the kind of content i want. you're not mindlessly spouting the same three lines over and over again thinking it's funny like a lot of the brain-rotted car people here on youtube. You don't throw the veil over to hide what is going on in the background. You are one of the few who can be entertaining without having to stretch out the most mundane of tasks and adding fake excitement.
Thankyou for not caving and falling into the rut of "RUclipsrs"
I hate that stuff so much.
Yeah VGG does the same crap over and over, PBG is my favorite car channel 💯 💶
"ball warmer"....I busted out with a roaring laugh, you guys are a comedy team deluxe!
And now we know who the REAL car guys are. Thank you for MAINTAINING your builds and revivals.
Lots of comments like this, I appreciate it. But frankly the damn things aren't worth much if the blocks all crack 😂 simple matter of necessity
JD is getting quite fluent in mechanic and comfortable in front of the camera.
yeah its really cool to see kids interested in old cars and actually wrenching on them.
@@mromatic17It's becoming a rarity to see a kid like him that's all there, he's very well knowledged and seems like a kind fellow.
@@ThePower1037 ohh yeah I'm trying to teach my 13year old about cars and trying to get him into the hobby. hopefully he gets it more.
@@mromatic17 get him into cars and he will never have money for girls, drugs or alcohol lol
@@arcticelectric thats very true! my first car was a 1994 camaro z28 and I spent every dime of my 5.60 an hour taco hell job money on all my cars. Now I drive old shitty trucks and they are more reliable and actually save money with them.
Don't apologize for the content. This is totally relatable.
Ah yes, pole van garage. Great wrap up video on all the projects. Would be interested in seeing the farm truck 3.0 build
I vote for the farm truck 3 build as well.
Showing the maintenance isn't always flashy, but it was still a fun video. I'd love to see more of that new farm truck
Looking forward to the farm truck build. Nice to see your collection isn't being left to just rot away in a field and that you care enough to NOT let them get worse. Would love to see what's hidden under that tarp next to JD's car ;)
Great video! How many RUclipsrs can go out to their fleet and start up 90% of them? It was fun to see all those past projects. You and your family have a great Thanksgiving!
Awesome stuff, not every video has to be a mega revive and drive and super restoration. I'm here to watch a regular guy work on cars like the rest of us. This is the real budget channel, thanks Dalton and JD!
Much appreciated!
You are the *king* of low-buck restoration.
I dig it.
😂 when the old 71 Ford truck started making noise after that beat run, the way both retreated behind the other truck had me laughing hard... I had to rewind it to watch it again a few more times.
Once again great behind the scenes footage and covering the stuff that the “high dollar” RUclips channels won’t
So a trick i figured out to make fitting seat covers much easier. Instead of hog rings, use the smallest zip ties. It allows you to put them in loosely, position the cover, then snug them all down bit by bit. It makes it much more enjoyable
Maintenance is maintenance, you gotta do it. Folks down south don't have to winterize, they got it so easy the bastards 😁 One cars an easy thing to do this to, this amount is a PITA...especially if the weather doesn't cooperate. I love seeing about the seat recovering, I'd always wanted to try it myself....might just hire someone after all 😂 Between the "possessed" pickup and the new Ball Warmer 2000™ install, this was a great video!
I'm in central TX and while its not like winter up north it does freeze. Antifreeze has lubricant and rust inhibitors. So yes I use it in all my vehicles, usually about to -20.
Considering the nature of how you go about your car videos, I find it hilarious that you're probably one of the few car youtubers that actually care for your vehicles.
You take the time to actually do maintenence meanwhile others will work on the car for the video then leave it in a field to rot. Keep up the good work!
My favorite channel Dalton is just a real guy doing real things. No fake you tube personality just a dude that loves working on cars. There are few people on the tubes that can goto there fleet of cars and start them all in one day!! Real dude doing real things.
Thanks Dalton and JD for sharing yalls talents and adventures !!
Dalton this should be a annual video. It would be different each year. Keep up the work, sir.
Hey, it takes a real man to show the boring but necessary stuff. Keep it up Dalton.
I would love to see a build on another Farm Truck. Your unique style I really enjoy and JD is a really good mechanic and the next generation
Absolutely love this channel. Favorite automotive channel out there just because you are just original
That Eagle is so siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiick. More of this plz.
Kinda nice to see a follow up on some older projects.
This kinda stuff is a big reason why I like your channel. Just a real person, getting it done.
A man smoking a stogie working on his cars. That's a real mechanic right there!
It's nice that you actually take care of all your stuff
Try to anyways
It's awesome seeing you and your kiddo working together. I miss those days.
Well Dalton, you may think this is NOT a very good video, but to me it's golden. I just showed my wife how many vehicles YOU have in all states of health, and pointed out how blessed she is to have a husband like me with only 6 "questionable" cars... Fun vid! A+++++
😂 very very true, husbands everywhere are redeemed!
@@PoleBarnGarage lol 😂 True That!!!
Thanks!
This cash thing is a nice feature. I normally skip the ads, and that does not really help you. Pole barn, JYD, and the rest of your group are extremely relatable, so thank you for doing what you do.
Thank you!
I can only imagine the daily trudge it must be to provide good weekly content. Glad you do it!
I was thinking that same thing, man it's hard enough just trudging through it. But to have to film it all and then edit it all into something folks will stay and watch is another. I personally enjoyed this video and like others, it did remind me that I needed to check my radiator fluid : )
I usually use zip ties instead of hog rings when reassembling seat covers. Has always worked great.
I for one appreciate getting caught up on the little stuff. So many projects are really cool and then just disappear, it's nice to get a little update on them and see that you are still taking care of them.
Great video, happy holidays to you and everyone, and keep the great content coming.
I'd like to see the 390 Ford get a flatbed/fixed!
It’s so nice that you took the time to review all of your cars/trucks/vans! Glad you have them all and show us what you do to get ready for winter. We don’t have winter in Arizona and don’t have to do any of the maintenance that you shared.
The upholstery looks amazing👍🏻
Thanks Dalton, Jesse and JD🙂
Have a great weekend!
Stay warm🥶
Stop apologizing for good content. Appreciate how you get the family involved and have a few laughs while your at it. That makes it worthwhile and you got nothing to apologize for.
JD has more mechanical knowledge than 75% of adult males in America these days.
There’s a lot more younger car guys out there than you think.
You need to recheck your statistics. 12% of young males now want to be called women. So you gotta recrunch the numbers removing the Bruce jenner wannabes
Thats not saying much
Most adult males cannot decide what sex they are nowadays....
My roommate doesn’t even know how to add oil. Have to go out there & add it for him. Like the dipstick tells you how low it is. Common knowledge.
Yes build the flat bed ford
JD is doing great.. its nice to see him so interested, very impressed with everything he has learned. Chip off the old block 👍
Would love to see a flatbed farm truck build for the 70 ford truck.
Awesome job brother. JD is really doing great with his mechanical skills. You’ve raised a fine young man 🤘
Honestly I love this video. Shows what the mainstream big channels don't because it's not "sensational". I watch this channel for the lack of sensationalism, you're just a dude in your shed doing what you love and sharing it with us and I love it
I personally enjoy seeing the random tidbits, gives a little continuity to everything.
Lubricating the foam will help you slide the cover on easier.
Never seen somebody work on so many cars in one video before must be a new u tube record 👍 keep up the great work Dalton.
The roar of that old gas ford while you were grabbing gears was legendary. Keep it coming. Thank you!
Working on cars with your kids has become the latest trend, but working with your kid is like one of the boys. I’d trust him more than most adults I know to work on small things unsupervised.
He's the best helper I have and I'm not exaggerating
Not to many videos out there on car upholstery. Was interesting to see how that stuff works.
The face on jess being outside in the cold it exactly like mine when its winter! Im not a winter person even tho i live on the north east coast of England where its cold in the summer! Well done on maintenance lol😂! Channel is gaining subs great! Well done team!
Lol you noticed that huh? Yup, I'm not built for the cold, so I just made all the trips to O'Reilly's for coolant...in the car with the (actual) heated seats lol
Stay warm out there, bud!
@@jesswhomakesstuff living 100 yards from the North Sea makes it almost impossible to keep warm! Roll on April 😂
Some notes (from a casual observer) on the '70-'71 Ford No-bed truck:
It seems to run on mostly oil.
It seems likely to me that when that was a current vehicle, NOBODY would have thought anyone would drive that or anything else like it for FUN. Go figure!
Dude you got my vote, I got the same crap to do here. Been in upper 40s, but chilling more. I gotta get going, my shop is heating up so I am headed out right after supper. Thanks for the great video
I so want another SX/4. Had one in my youth, but title issues and tin worm were it's death knell. But that car would go through a foot of snow on bald summer tires. Never knew how rare they were in those days before the internet.
It's all good! Even routine maintenance needs to be done, and you make it entertaining and fun. Thanks for posting this!
Ford truck with a 390 and a 4 speed. That’s something I’d love to have.
It ain't got no gas 😂
Alrighty Dude (Dalton). Ya SOLD me on yer channel! Between your Low Buck approach, DJ, your bro and Dad (and all the gang), I'm joining the Low Buck Sponsors group. Keep up the good work and especially, being a great Father, family man and entertainer. 🎉🎉
Thanks man I appreciate ya
I love this, you should do it more often! Its a cool little insight of all the vehicles
I enjoy watch your videos and all the fine rides you got and you and your son working together and no body will ever have a video like the one when you started on the HOLY GOAT
This was a really fun video! I enjoyed seeing all the cars you've accumulated.
i would love to see that old ford truck back on the road. that thing sounds mean!!
Don't forget to winterize your air compressor I'm sure it has water in it
Haven't drained that thing in a decade 😂
Nothing wrong with showing basic maintenance and stuff that needs done with your vehicles. You're one of the only car youtubers I've seen that actually shows that stuff
Pole Van Garage
The jaaaaaag starts inmediatly!😊
What a gentle automobil
Shure, it's a jaaaaag🎉
I'll never moan again about having to winterize my pile of junk car and my pride and joy bike.
You have your work cut out fo you when you're not even working.
Thanks for the upload.
Neil :-)
Becoming a real fan after NNKH intro! Love the upgraded filming and editing! Little things like lighting, clean windows and a still hamd (or Gimble) makes a BIG differnce! Great Father-Son team!!! 👍
Always love seeing the AMC Eagle, it's so badass.
I thought it was a good video. Maintenance might not be a flashy video but the way y'all work together is what makes it fun to watch. I appreciate the father son time and the lesson in maintaining what you've got in order to keep what you've got.
Let’s see that 390 4x4 farm truck man! Things got great potential.
Hi...well ur the 1st one on utube that actually has all those vehicles on your property and they most all startup and run! Cause your spend money on the right parts ...un like some guys on here spending $ on non sense parts paint etc and nothing runs and sits in the field ,im impressed ,im old school mechanic back in the 70/80/90,s doing what u do.im 62 yrs old now and back and knees r bad so dont do to much or pay at night !! Great entertainment for us old couch guys .your Canadain watcher ,nice bud keep it up ...Big Rand...😮
i am so glad you did the colab w/ j.y.d.... dalton, hug your family... happy turkey day after... the great leftovers race..
Everyday auto care is something this younger generation needs to see.. So I think videos like this one are a very useful thing.
LOL the dogs like is this towel four me
Great job on the winterization of your vehicles. Taking it to a different level I'm sure most these car guys don't ever think about going to. Takes time and antifreeze. Quite the collection to attend to.
I actually enjoyed this episode a lot. I love seeing small jobs get done on each vehicle to improve them that much and its like an update on projects we haven't seen in awhile.
My wife and I loved this video. Thank you for sharing the tech stuff with us.
I for one enjoy even the small things that normally do not get any airtime. It’s gotta be done, and if seeing this kind of content even inspires one guy or gal to winterize their vehicle before old man winter puts a festive new crack in the block. I say it was a good call.
ONE HELL OF A THRASH! NICELY DONE, DALTON.
VERY ENTERTAINING AND INFORMATIVE.
Dalton and his family are the best ! I am not a mechanic, but LOVE this channel thanks to Kevin and Mook.
I wanted to see the whole herd, Dalton! 😊This is a fun idea!
Your regular job is a sparky, my dad's a sparky and he always says if you can't fix it with a hammer call a sparky! You got it all covered! Love the content man.
Man I haven't seen an antifreeze float tool in years. We don't need them to often here in Key West. I think this was a good real life episode. Maintenance must be done, or rebuild your rebuilds. 😂
Dalton, Silas/adventures made from scratch got a very cool very heavy duty truck with a short heavy duty adjustable boom, winch combo. You could probably cherry pick a monster truck engine with. The whole truck is cool but I’d be he separate the bed. It’s with n the last 5 episodes. Enjoyed this one, reminds me to check my fleet as the temp drops
Update, the truck I referred to is at the beginning of the video Silas released this morning. It’s a white international with the short boom bed
I celebrate a new Pole Barn video by lighting up a smoke. Thanks Dalton, for all you do!!!!
Right on brother
That bump side, would love to see you battle to fit a aftermarket full rewire kit. There is a heap of options from simple “hotrod/buggy” kits to factory style wiring kits.
Maybe show both wire type kits on similar vehicles?
I've done a few of the ultra cheap harnesses on the channel, I like them for the price
@@PoleBarnGarage any kit is better than that butchered mess of wires :)
Thank you for sharing and the appreciation to your subscribers
Love the white ford truck with sketchy bed ! lol
Just received my pbg hat. Top quality stuff brother.. 👍🇺🇸
The new farm truck 100% needs a new bed, and this video was cool seeing all the cars in one go.
You just reminded me I have 31 quarts of straight water in my f250. You have just saved one International diesel. You sir are a hero.
I enjoyed this style of maintenance video. Not enough RUclipsrs do this
I enjoyed the wild ride through your yard in the truck ! 😊 This video for me was one of your best . I've learned a few things about cars since I have been watching . God bless you all .
Nothing wrong with a full fleet maintenance video. Love seeing a little something on everything
Thanks for letting us tag along. Maintenance is un-sexy, but the world would fall apart if nobody did it! :)
Like that silver dollar
I thought it was a good video. Maintenance might not be a flashy video but the way y'all work together is what makes it fun to watch. I appreciate the father son time and the lesson in maintaining what you've got in order to keep what you've got. We all watched as a family from a hot tub.
Man I could go for a hot tub
Your collection of jalopies is highly impressive. And each one runs. Which is more impressive. Couldn’t help but notice the rather large Tarp next to JD’s car.
Cool video. My old farm truck had a T10 in it and 1st gear was only used when walking beside it loading hay. It would pull a house in low but it would only wind to about 5 mph. Love your collection. Batteries and insurance must be a killer. Ty
I love that your son is interested and involved with you 💕
