Well, just to let everyone know. The engine noise was caused by whoever had the Vette apart last time. The valve covers were installed upside down on the wrong sides! The taper on the inside is wrong, causing the rockers to periodically touch, causing the intermittent noise! All switched, and all good now.

Someone in my family had a 70’s Chevelle. It over heated so the mechanic told them “sorry you blew the engine” cause there was fluid on the ground. She didn’t know any better. So he bought the car from her for 500 bucks in 1980. It didn’t have a scratch on it. Unfortunately there were a lot of dirtbags out there. Just like heater core guy.

As parents, we often don’t realize just how much our own kids are learning and growing (because we see them all the time, so like watching a flower grow, if you watch it all day, you don’t see it blossom - but if you only saw it once or twice a week, you’d notice it). So I wonder if you see just how much your son is learning and growing. He’s an impressive young man. He is clearly picking up what you are putting down!

So I learned this lesson with my dad. It's not that the fuel pump is bad out of the box. It's that a fuel system that has a return line. That's how it creates an equilibrium. Otherwise it's just gonna suck on the tank until it can't suck anymore. And that's when it breaks the webos inside the pump. And that's when the hole spits out. Because that's what prevents the fuel from leaking into your oil and ruining your engine. The only thing you can do is either drill.A hole in your gas cap like we did or you can put a vented fuel cap.On if they are available or run a pump with a return

I learned the 'stethoscope' trick from my granddad. He would use a long screwdriver and listen to the handle. On rockers, with covers off and engine running, he would hold a hammer by the head and 'feel' the rockers with the handle. Great channel!

GM did everything they could to keep the crossfire from reaching the potential it was capable of doing. They knew the future was in tuned port injection. The crossfire was based on the cross ram from the 69 z28 which was something special back in the day putting out over 300 hp with a 302 cubic inch motor. I'm old enough to have seen the 69 cross ram camaro walk all over big blocks.

The heater core replacement brings back some good memories of my High School car a 89 Chevrolet Corsica. When my heater core went out and started to pump out white smoke in the car. It was pouring antifreeze on the passenger side floor. After I got it fixed I used my Mother's brand new carpet cleaner. Man she wasn't happy about that. Lol 🤣😆🤣 good times.

I put a cheap fuel pump in my square.
    It lasted about 3 months.
I put a Napa gold pump in after that.
    It’s good so far. .
That return line helps it not vapor lock in the summer.
    But you already know that.
