Nah there's still a wow factor when there's a new great smartphone. But if you want that old wow factor then the Galaxy fold should already offer that.
Jolly Lolly IKR. These phones were blazing fast 💨 back then!!!! I had Verizon back then, and this Droid was my first Android smartphone. Brings back so many memories.
I'm sure we will be saying the same thing about today's phones in 2025 or so. It's amazing how far we have came with smartphones in just a period of 10 years.
Again really? I've never understood the, "it just works" response about iphones. I don't know if I'm in a unique situation here, but my android phone also just so happens to work. And if you're having problems with SMS on Android, I don't know what to tell you. It's one of the most basic, easy to use functions on any operating system. I can text on my phone without looking at the phone, and with one hand. I don't know how much easier it could be.
@pyro74boy So the Evo, Droid, Galaxy S, Pre are all touchscreens, did they copy the patent from LG too? There's a reason why the battery is sealed. A sealed battery on a phone helps the phone to be thinner and it allows the batter to be larger, thus the battery has a longer battery life. Tell me, how often do you need to replace your cell phone battery?
@@corey7219 cool I just switched over to the iPhone 13 I have always used Samsung used the Droid when it first came out up until my s10 that I'm typing this on lol I thought I would regret the switch but nope I like it more then the galaxy phones
my motorola droid (milestone - android 2.1) is wwwwwwwwwaaaaaaaaayyyyy slower than the device in this video. and i do not even have a "rich collection of useless software junk"... well android failed for me. iphone ftw!
@n1ztb no, but seriously, how many times did you replace battery in any of your devices over its lifetime? And even if you did you had to go to a specialized store or order it online. Does it really take longer to got to an Apple store and have a battery replaced? I'm guessing not but I own droid/milestone
how much is it going to cost to get a droid with internet and unlimited txting etc. i mean every month i heard bout 100 dollars but my friend said only 30
@n1ztb Okay, the Droid that is being sold as of RIGHT now. It ships with Android 2.1 standard with can be updated. The phone that the video is playing the Droid is running 2.0 which DOESNT come with Multi-touch. So when you update it then you get the multi-touch. iPhone come with Multi-touch standard.
Still watching this video today 8-25-2022 my all time favorite,I still have the Motorola Droid as a collection but it's not working anymore, too bad I wasn't able to own an iphone 3GS.
if i purchased an unlocked droid for use in australia, google maps would be fine for accessing australia correct? it's not like it comes with the software preloaded for your region?
@pyro74boy How did they copy? So the LG Prada had the same software as the first iPhone? I don't think so. The LG Prada has a resistive touchscreen, and the iPhone has a capacitive touchscreen. Do some research, resistive and capacitive are two different types of touchscreens. The LG Prada also did not have multi-touch. I've seen the iPhone introduction keynote, and Apple did not say this was the first touchscreen phone. There has also been many phone with touchscreens before 2007.
@DragonX7777 no the Droid doesnt use i apps file. they have Android Marketplace, which is basically the same thing, just small differences (types & amount, that sort of thing)
Actually in an overall Android was always better. Since a while back though it has just been completely better. Android is so more user integrated than IOS can ever dream to be. And yes the 4S is 1GHz. It's underclocked to 800MHz. Apple's thing has always been underclocking by 200MHz.
@zackam1306 Same. It worked fine for a while but it became nearly useless on froyo. The keyboard sheet began to float above the keys, the paint chipped off in my pocket, apps took forever to load and the os was simply unstable. I'm getting my 4s on friday
i have iPhone 3gs, Garminfone(android), HTC HD2, Blackerry Pearl, Samsung Gravity 2, Sidekick LX, and now i just got Motorola Cliq Blur and im in love with it all the time but one thing i need is the update ;/ so can someone help me plzzzz!!!!!!!!!!! thanks
is it just me or is the scrolling motion on the iphone smoother than on the andriod? it all makes the scrolling feels just a bit better and makes the os on the iphone a bit more responsive... it even shows in this video.. i say this after using both the driod and the iphone.
I think i like iphone more, I just like the graphics better, the art, the design of it...seams more "today", droid seams like something microsoft would make...just by the art of it

I bought my Droid two weeks away and I really love it. I'm pleased to tell that now Droid is even better than it was in this video. It's much better than iPhone 3GS. Maybe iPhone 4 would be similar, but never better. Droid is one of the best purchase i've ever did. Sofi.
u can cuztumize a iphone more than i driod cause if u jailbreak the iphone u can change the slide to unlock and u can also change the background and change the app names and the app pics
I tink the review was EXCELLENT, but 1 ting is that the Motorola Droid/Milestone does have "Multi-touch". I don't know if this is strictly applied to my Milestone or if the Droid also has it. Either way, the review was informative and helpful, thanks.
Ummmm can anyone answer me plz :3 does the android have headsets that u can plug in and is there games that are like arcade on the market on android. Right now I think I wanna get a android :3
just to throw it out there i've watched a few of your reviews and head to head comparisons and you forget to mention in this one is the option to change your homescreen using the market place. you're able to download custom home screen "launcher" apps that not only change the look of your homescreen but add functionality and originality. now granted since you yourself admitted you were more of an iphone user at the time its something thats growing more and more on the android platform phones.
if you update milestone/droid to 2.1 instead of 2.0 which comes from factory, the lagging issues between switching home screens and zoom function in internet is much more improved. I have both but thought ppl should know that before judging the motorola.
@Melovetocheer yep so i dont see whats so great about the iphone. it has no customization, no major changes but a little user interface change with one update maybe each year on its firmware that does anything to it other than fix a minor bug. and it STILL doesn't support flash unless they finally updated it so it can plz correct me on that one if im wrong. its just a brick no matter which provider you use it on in my opinion because you can't do anything with it to make it YOUR iphone.
@Melovetocheer to top it off the iphone only has one model each year. you can't choose which one is best for you so youre stuck with w/e you get. at least with droid you can choose which model phone you want so long as its an android phone :P
@OneHitKillGaming you realize how much faster the 3gs is then the droid right? i can hardly use the droid because of how choked up and laggy it gets so what the hell are you talking about?
iPhone browsing speed is so weird, it loads the graphics quick which makes it seems like it is faster but the page doesn't completely load for another 3-4 seconds
@Eff3ct3D Depends on where you live. AT&T's 3g is ever so slightly faster. But Verizon get 3g literally EVERYWHERE. At&t no 3g unless your close to an urban area.
2009-2010 were big years for smartphones. I miss the wow factor of smartphones, now they're just an everyday thing.
