It's the shape of the turbofans that gives the engines the trademark roar. If I close my eyes, I can still tell if it's a Rolls-Royce engine when the pilot opens up the throttle. My favorite RR is still the trusty old L1011. I flew one with Delta and on another one with Cathay Pacific and that was when both airlines had their old paint liveries.
Love this RR Trent 800 take-off sound and I knew this from flying MNL-HKG on Partner B777-200 & B777-300 non-er model. One way to tell apart RR AA formerly DL East Asia Pacific CX SQ TG from PW4090 UA Asia-Pacific KE NH OZ check to see if it has a vacuum cleaner sound on taxi phase. If it's the vacuum cleaner sound PW4090 but silent and buzzsaw sound RR Trent 800
I wish AA would revert some of the 777s back to the traditional colors with the bare metal lower body. it would look great with Rolls Royce's trademark shiny brand decal.
@@spenofzeros Yes, I'm pretty much the only AvGeek who despises that sound, every other AvGeek says it gives them eargasms. On top of being annoying, I don't like it because a fan spinning supersonic puts tremendous amounts of stress and fatigue on the fan blades along with greatly reducing their efficiency. At high cruising speeds though, the air inlet will actually slow the air down to about half the speed of sound due to ram intake before it reaches the fan. The ram pressure effect also slightly compresses the air so the fan (and ultimately the engine) has more air to work with which increases the engine's propulsive efficiency!
@@ChrisZoomER i kinda don’t like it either. worst instance was a 26 minute flight from OGG to HNL on a Hawaiian 717. I was like one row from the engine and it sucked
Love that ROAR!
I flew on a 777 back in 2007 from DFW to ORD. It was the smoothest takeoff that I've ever felt.
WHAT A ROARRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
That got my heart racing lime madness
Beautiful takeoff views it’s amazing to see
It’s literally just buildings and dead trees do you know what beautiful is
@Kid192 someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning
@Kid192 and then fuckin deleted it
Great video, gotta love the sound of those engines!
Those Rollers are a-BUZZIN'!
That take off was lovely!!!
amazing video- sound and lighting is epic !! nothing quite like a 777 takeoff is there ✈️✈️
wow, AMAZING power and engine sounds :)
That buzz will be a memory when fans are geared subsonic.
Efficiency will always be emotion's foe
ALWAYS KNOW ITS ROLLS ROYCE DISTINCTIVE SOUND LIKE NO OTHER!

Nice takeoff sound
Soon as it spooled up you knew it was R/R 😎
Thought exactly the same at the same moment. GE90s sound like they are at half power on TO or GA settings ^^.
Love that buzz! Sure beats the double whistle of an IL-62 Ilyushin that won’t leave your head for five days!
Awesome Engine Sound 👍👍🇵🇰🇵🇰

Classic 777 take off roll out of Dallas !
this is the best engine sound and its called rolls royce

I did not know they still had this aircraft? Do you know how long they will be around for?
These big engines make music - literally. Here, slightly below a bass G note :)
Its amazing considering how loud it actually is outside
Oh I love the sound
Dang...did you have a mic outside the plane? Wow....that sounds awesome!
Massive!👍
One of my favorite engines In aviation🤩🤩
In GE we thrust.
Listen to that buzzsaw!
Is that normal?
@@mysticwine It's the result of the fan blades spinning at supersonic speeds.
@@ChrisZoomER is that actually what makes the sound?
