I had the same problem. I wasn't able to remove the password, but I found a way to format the laptop though. It is pretty basic and I found it by luck. I will try this alternative and come back here to share the result. Thx for sharing!

turn off the laptop, shorting the two pin , then turn on and hold shorting , after 10 or 15 seconds release the shorting. so the password if off

@@brittbell6769 he just put the two solder points together, you can do it with any thing of metal that allows you to put them together as he did, so It shall discharge the bios and reset it

you can short the pin with any metallic things like small screwdriver then turn on you laptop , holding the short for 5 second
