    I’m just adding another comment about your channel. What I love about you is that you stick with affordable pieces. So many fashion vloggers start out styling budget-friendly pieces mixed with a few higher-end or luxury items. However, as their subscribers grow, they slowly become luxury channels with $2,500 Balmain blazers and Chanel bags. I enjoy watching them, but it’s hard to relate to someone who has $100,000 worth of handbags on their shelves. 😏

    Thank you Melissa. This was the exact video I needed today. Your advice and styling suggestions for transitioning into the Autumn were spot on as usual. I actually watched some of your videos from last year over the weekend as I started to swap over my wardrobe for the Autumn. I am trying not to buy too many pieces with rising energy prices but to make the clothes that I have in my wardrobe work for me throughout the changing seasons. Some wonderful ideas and suggestions ✨❤️

      That’s incredibly nice of you to say and lovely for me to read (and yes this is Melissa here and yes I read every single one of the comments) so a big thank you back from me! Go for thinner jumpers and layer with a longer cardigan or longer coat, this will create a vertical split line across your chest. Go for round neck, square neck, open neck - anything that shows your neckline and reduces the bust area xx 😘

    And, another great video from you Melissa, no surprise there :) I love that you keep it practical and casual, some other youtubers dress as if they had an important meeting with their boss every day! I have that type of summer dress and I wouldn't have thought of wearing it with a thick jumper over it. I'll definitely try it. Also, this year and thanks to your advice I've done something I never did before which is buying my atumn/winter clothes in the summer sales and I'm really happy with my purchases actually. I bought 4 hooded jumpers and 4 knitted joggers to mix and match and 4 thin cotton jumpers in neutral colours at 12,99 € each! • @mmpersonalstyling
      @mmpersonalstyling  4 месяца назад +1

      If I own the pants I take them up so they’re not scraping the floor but a lot of the time the clothes are given to us by the shops then we donate them to a women charity so we don’t alter them just for the video and each video we consistently mention how you want them as low to the ground as possible WITHOUT dragging on the floor…

      You could go for a bright orange/red (the colour of this season) or a bright pink or green - something that will really make it pop or, if that’s too out there for you then navy or neutral. Enjoy your event!

  • @annahanu1808
    @annahanu1808 2 года назад

    Those really wide flowey pants can be worn successfully by only a VERY few women who can pull that off. Most women who are petite, overweight and older just don't look good in them. The pants need to be worn with high heels which is also a problem because many women can't wear heels without pain.

    • @mmpersonalstyling
      @mmpersonalstyling  2 года назад

      The problem isn’t the pants, it’s usually what people are putting with the pants that makes the pants not work. Also, I do agree that only some women can wear them and that woman will usually have a smaller waist in comparison to their hips and thighs. Without that contrast in size they can make people look wider. But please remember that I have every time of body shape, body scale, size and age watching these videos so some weeks things will work for some people and not others. If you want advice on what works for your specific body shape then you’re better off watching the body shape master class series where I dress women off all shapes and sizes live on RUclips. I hope that helps

      I agree. I struggle to understand why fashion companies use shapeless, androgynous models and put them in weird combinations, and have them stand in very unnatural poses!! You look at the item and think,'Oh, no. Awful.' Then you see Melissa (and I have to say Lydia Tomlinson) style these outfits and they look amazing. Not like the often dowdy, weird, and downright foolish pictures on their web sites. Do companies not want to sell their clothes? They should employ Melissa for styling!! Modern but chic.

    Dear Melissa! Thank you for your videos. They are very good and you are great. I have a question however. According to color theory I am a "summer type". So by those rules, I am not allowed to wear gold juwelry and anything in beige. They always tell you to just wear the same clothes in your colors, but I feel like a different color has a completely different effect. For example, grey clothes are less summery than beige ones and silver juwelrey is way more unobtrusive than gold juwelry. What should I do?
    Also can you please make more videos for women with wide shoulders? I feel like you often say that a dress you are wearing is great for everyone but women with wide shoulders...
    Thanks again!

    • @Erica-uq4hx
      @Erica-uq4hx 2 года назад

      I think I have similar colouring to you. I don't own anything beige or brown because I always feel washed out in those colours, so stopped buying them years ago, even though I've never had a colour analysis. I am now on the hunt for a trench coat and I've noticed that neutral trench coats range from a very tan colour to a more grey toned stone colour, so I'm avoiding the very tan coloured ones. I've been eyeing off the M&S recycled trench coat in 'stone', but it's out of stock at the moment.
      Regarding jewellery, I've found that delicate yellow gold pieces look fine with my skin tone, but not chunky gold pieces with a very strong yellow tone. I also like rose gold, the tone can vary between brands but generally it seems to work better for my cool skin tone.

    Never thought to do some of your wardrobe combinations. Very creative! I notice you called that dark sweater early in the video," khaki" like the trench coat in that video. It is interesting, too, that some of the garments are called different names than I am used to. I'm glad you have good video with your audio.

    Hi Melissa, I’m new around here. I’m not your target audience because I live in Brazil but I really like your vision of fashion and style. We practically don’t have cold seasons here. The lowest temperature is 10 degrees Celsius in one or two weeks a year.
    Can you give any examples of how to dress well in these conditions? The third piece is really not comfortable at average temperatures of 38 degrees Celsius.
    I’m an architect and I go to buildings. Help me have style even in these conditions😅Thank you in advance for your attention.

    • @mmpersonalstyling

      Hello and welcome! It totally depends on your lifestyle. If you're on the floor running around after a toddler then you want darker jeans for example. A darker jeans is more flattering on most people and better for the evening. A mid blue is better for creating a casual look. x

    I see you "always" show stripy sweaters. Will these really work on every body type? As an strawberry/apple, I've always been taught to stay away from stripes, as it widens/broadens the figure...
    And I also see you have a lot of beige and gold. How do you make that fit for those of us who are "grey mouses" as we call it in Norway? Or do you think it would fit regardless?
    (Grey mouse means someone dull in clothing, hairstyles, colors... Not any breathtaking contrasts between skin, hair and eye-color... It's all just... greyish... or beigeish)

    • @mmpersonalstyling
      @mmpersonalstyling  2 года назад +1

      Great questions Anugita... Yes stripy sweaters will work on everyone BUT it's the neckline you need to consider as this will dictate whether they work or not. Beige and golds don't work on everyone but people are visual learners so I show different colours on the models I use in the body shape master class series where I dress them live on youtube. Hopefully across one of those videos you may identify your own colourings. x

      Scarves or wearing a nice handbag as either a cross body bag (where the strap crossed over your torso) or over your shoulder and maybe look for a nice co-ordinated strap that adds some detail to your outfit. x
