I appreciate your tips on trendier shoes for Mums. I have wide feet and comfort problems but I feel more empowered to hunt for footwear that will help elevate my styles moving forward.
Wonderful video, as usual, Melissa. I so appreciate the way you "teach" about styling and tweaking outfits rather than just showing new looks. I always look forward to seeing you and your content!
You have no idea how much you have helped me . I'm at that age when I just don't know what to wear or how to style clothes . You're building my confidence and for that I thank you
Melissa I recently found your channel and love it! Please do more on shoes… I’ve never understood how to make them work with a given outfit. You are so good at explaining the rationale behind your choices! 💖
As always, you are a wonderful teacher. I am learning so much from you about dressing for my body type. And I now understand better why clothes don’t look good when I try them on. It isn’t me, it is the clothes! Because of your lessons in styling, I am making better choices. Thank you!
Thank you! We have the same body type. But I'm 5'9". You give such practical advice . But please let me see your shoes... my phone screen cuts them off. Thanks again.
It’s 30 degrees centigrade in Toronto today so this is so appropriate to read today. . It’s a heat dome! I am well over Petite and quite Tall. I love your explanations for the choices you make with clothing and shoes. You have improved my ability on what to wear. Thank you. ❤
Loved the white dress/rack sack demo. You are so spot on. You really do know your stuff. I always learn so much from you. You're pleasant, interesting, and come across like such a great and genuine loving person. You're a breath of fresh air, and one of my top favourite youtubers. Thanks so much for giving us all these tips for free. 💖💖👍
This is a truly unique video -- Melissa covers such key insights on why certain details add or take away from the look...intuitive but not easy to figure out all of this on one's own! Brilliant video...please do more of these micro-insight videos, esp. with shoe pairings. This is so key to make all the pieces fit together in a modern, (seemingly) effortless way. Simply excellent.
Thank you, Melissa! The visual examples you give are so clear and even obvious - once we know what to look for! As from all your excellent videos, I learned lot from this one.
Great teachings, Melissa. I hadn't heard the tip about using a safety pin in the shirt to replace where a button is not in order to show more skin with discretion!!!
For those of us for whom the ruck sack is non-negotiable for whatever reason, then preferably the flats - how can we look stylish? Very enjoyable and love the tips.
You look stunning in all theses dresses ! I wish I could wear a white dress - I just feel I can’t pull it off - had an off white simple dress for my wedding day and that was the last time ! Love your channel !
I really struggle with shoes. I have feet that are a uk 4.5 and a lot of manufacturers don't do half sizes. Not only that but as I work in a school I need comfortable shoes that are suitable for being constantly on the go - up and down stairs, taking pupils out for walks or joining in if numbers are short for pairings in PE. If I go up to a 5 they flap around and gap, and obviously a 4 is too tight. This is why I live for Autumn/Winter when I can get back into my precious boots again (where it doesn't matter if I go to a size 5 as I can just wear a thicker sock!).
Really Kirsty? I’m a 4.5 too and don’t seem to share those issues. For example, marks and Spencer’s shoes come up big so a size 4 fits perfectly there. Try changing the brand so you can get a really good fit then hopefully you won’t be so restricted. You can also use heel grips and insoles and this will help broaden your choice too. Good luck with it x
Loved seeing the difference of hair up and earring vs necklace and hair down! Another great video with excellent styling tips….. Off out for lunch with the girls in the white Zara playsuit you recommended a few videos ago 🥰
You saved a navy shirt dress for me! I was feeling frumpy in it even with a belt, I unbuttoned a bit more, top and bottom, and what a difference. I'm not on display by any means! I really like it thank you.
Very interesting! Thank you very much! I really learned a lot in this one! Now I have far more styling ideas for my white dresses 👍💫🌺 Maybe you could some day make a video about how to style and combine different kinds of longer necklaces ☺️ ?
Hi Melissa. Thank you for another wonderful video. I am so looking forward to your De pop clothing sale. Unfortunately I don’t think I will be able fit in many of your tops, but skirts and trousers should be spot on. I have shared your details with some friends who are more petite so they will love your clothes. It was so interesting how easily shoes, bags and accessories can transform an outfit, in both a positive and negative way. Thank you once again for your amazing advice and sharing your wonderful styling tips ❤️✨
Just found you. I’m a size 20uk and 5ft 3in. I found this tutorial invaluable. Thank you so much. You really know your stuff and I look forward to trying out the different styling tips x
Hello Eileen and welcome! You might be interested in my body shape master classes where I dress women of all different shapes and sizes live on youtube. If you click on my logo then the 'video' tab you'll see them all in date order. x
What a lovely thing to do, we cleared out our cupboards as moved house whilst we build. All our unwanted clothes and furniture went to homeless charities and refugees. I’ve never bought a white dress as I’m accident prone but I’m tempted! X
Your videos offer the best advice of any other YT stylist I've seen! Would love to see a video featuring edgy, yet chic, clothing. "How to be edgy without going over the top".
Wow! Those are fabulous White dresses! I think I need to buy all of them! I've been wanting a white dress and I haven't been able to find one I like. Really good advice about hair and jewelry. Thanks!
Absolutely love your style...I noticed the beautiful simplicity of your sandals ...living in France ...they are Hermès(?) Very stylish timeless elegantness 🤩thank you so much for this beautiful video and amazing style tips
Love love love your instructional clothing videos! I’ve been learning so much and really upping my outfits thanks to your channel. I was wondering, this fall maxi dresses are all the rave, and I love maxi dresses, now that it’s getting cooler, what tips do you have in helping us layer maxi dresses with FLATS and cardigans? dos and donts of layering maxi dresses? That would be super helpful.
unfortunately, the lining of that beautiful Mango dress is in fact mostly polyester - what are they thinking - lining a linen dress with 85% polyester??
Yes, I know what you're saying about the Accessorise dress and Reiss wedges - they're too formal for the dress. It's like you need to pair the formality of a shoe with the rest of the outfit, if that makes sense
Hi Melissa. Another very informative and practical video. I invested in two lovely white dresses this summer on your recommendation and I love them both. Is it mad to consider a third??? 🤣🤣🤣. As always your tips are a godsend. Most definitely do NOT want to fall into the 40 something mumsie mistakes. Counting down to your next video ♥️
That was so useful Melissa 👌.. I’m your height .. busty 34D… so have to be careful not to look like a shelf on the bust 😂..thanks for the tips … looking forward to browsing your clothing sale 👌.. excited.. hope you’re enjoying the weekend.. Pauline xx
Thank you... good reminders. I wonder about espadrille sandals? I like as add a little height but look more casual than heels. Thinking more for the more romantic style dress with frills or the off shoulder style.
I love your videos!! However, I’m 72, wear a wig, (grey hair with black roots- very fashion forward) US size 16, apple shape, heavier legs. I wear pinks, purples, blues, and black. What color shoes do I wear to make my legs look longer and that won’t look bulky? Seems with my colors I can’t do a nude colored shoe, or can I? With your blond hair and beautiful tan your gold jewelry, nude shoes and purses look fabulous but doesn’t do anything with my silver hair, jewelry and clothes!
Every one of your videos is so informative with practical tips on best ways to wear things for our figures. I wish you were here in Canada 🇨🇦!! But for now, I’ll diligently keep watching and learning …
Hello, Thanks for the video, I am wearing a white jumpsuit for my engagement and need a shawl to cover my back, can you please give some ideas like which colour or fabric would go with a pure white jumpsuit? Thankyou!
It depends whether the jumpsuit is plain or embellished, tight fitting or loose, your height, the length of your hair - so many things affect the choice and without seeing it I wouldn’t want to advise and get it wrong on your special day. We do 1:1 sessions for this if that helps. Please visit www.mmpersonalstyling.co.uk
Great information and i have learned quite a lot. But i’m still not sure what or what not to do about hiding a little tummy. When wearing something that has a sort of belt, the kind that you would knot or make a bow, does that enhance the tummy or camouflage the tummy. Do we tie in the middle, the side, with a bow or just a knot? I’m 5’5’’ 148lbs 61 years old. Thank you for your advice. Manon from Quebec Canada
All you need to remember is that styling is about balance so you can’t look at one part of the outfit in isolation, you have to assess the entire figure. So are you using the tie to highlight your waist or to cover it? Do your legs need lengthening? Do you need to broaden or minimise your shoulders? So it’s really hard to just give you a meaningful answer without knowing what else is going on with your shape, body scale, height etc. In my case, I’d use a tie to highlight my waist but the ‘hanging’ bit to hide a small stomach. I’m sorry I can’t be more specific but it’s one of those things where I’d need to see you to give you an accurate answer. X
Thank you for the Monica Vinader code! I've been eyeing her jewelry for a while and this was what I needed to get off the fence. I bought a necklace and earrings and can't wait to wear them with some outfits.
Hi Melissa, great video as always. I’m struggling with what shoes and jacket to wear with a long sleeve classic white linen belted shirt dress. I would be wearing it either in a business casual context or just casual. Any tips would be much appreciated. Many thanks from Canada.
I watch yr great videos on my phone but it's nearly impossible to see the shoes. What a shame! I'm going to skip the rest of this one Perhaps you might take this into consideration and, if possible, change the camera angle for future videos where seeing shoes is important.
Noted Isabelle, thank you! The one thing people don’t realise is that you have to shoot in landscape for RUclips so the camera is already about 4m away to get a full body shot in, the room isn’t much bigger than that plus I can’t see myself through the small camera view so there’s a trade-off to be had. I only tell you this as it’s not a simple thing to achieve, other than building a bigger studio!!! I am seeking advice about a new camera Lense to see if this could help. X
@@mmpersonalstyling hi thanks for this. I do subscribe to your channel but don’t seem to have received any link. Can you tell me how to find this sale? I follow you on instagram too. Thanks
I am guilty of the bad shoes this summer. I like my sandals for my long car commute, they are super comfy for work and long walks if needed, but they look very grandmaish. I can't find anything comfy and good looking. I have bunions.
Try @callashoes - I’ve done a video with them, it’s the one titled ‘styling a GG bust and apple stomach’. Their shoes are super stylish and made for a bunion sufferer.
I thinks it depends on the platform you’re watching them on as RUclips must display it differently. When I filmed it and edited it and then watched it on my MacBook you can see the shoes but I think the sizing changes on a phone so I’ll try and account for that next time. Sorry!
Another fab video Melissa, thank you! I too have chunky knees and calves (too much step aerobics in my youth!) and found your advice on shoes options really interesting. All the white dresses looked lovely, and will try to create these looks with the couple of white dresses I already have…. Also, I don’t want to wish the time away, but I’m looking forward to your Autumn styling videos too! 👌👗☺️💕 xx
Hi Melissa! As always I find your video most helpful. However, when it comes to jewellery, I am not sure I have all the information I need. I wear glasses and I feel jewellery can be a bit too much... Could you help?
Hi do you have any suggestions on where to get dresses/skirts from for taller women? I love the dresses you have shown but I know that most if not all would not sit at the correct length for me
There’s a video on here for tall women. If you click on my logo then the ‘video tab’ you’ll see all the videos in one place so you should see it there. There’s lots of suggestions for where to shop generally for taller women. I hope that helps x
Like every video from you - very helpful and good explained and showed. You have such a wonderful sympathic charisma…. I would look your videos the whole day long 😃. Have wonderful day and thank you 😘
Enjoy watching your videos. Have you done a styling for a rectangular shape, I don't seem to find it amongs the others - expecially for someone who is boringly classic! Thank you.
Thank you Melissa, another really good video of do's and don'ts that really make sense when you explain them. Enjoying some recent purchase from Monica Vinader 😍 Really like your watch/ watches that you wear too.....could you tell us where they are from?
Oh good, glad you like your jewellery. I wear two different watches, one is an apple watch and one is a really old (at least 10 years old) from Michael Kors. x
There are lots of smaller versions available but i'm shorter than you and find they work well but if something feels not right on yourself then go with that gut instinct rather than wearing what you think you should be wearing. Confidence is key! x
What a video Melissa. I have the Mango white dress and was so pleased to see that you featured it in your video. I was thinking - yes, Melissa approves! Too bad summer is on its way out. Do you think it will be ok to wear in early autumn with a black leather jacket and white trainers for example?
Sounds like you've got similar taste to me Tanya! I've just filmed a 'how to transition your summer wardrobe' video, it'll be up at that weekend and it shows you exactly how to do this so watch out for that one x
I’m sorry but it totally depends on the neckline, the style, your skin tone, the occasion etc. so many factors at play. We do 1:1 consultations where we can assess it for you, details can be found at www.mmpersonalstyling.co.uk
Another very helpful video! The cream dress - suitable for pear shape? (I feel like it’s too tight on top and the cut doesn’t really give that “strong shoulder” look so it’s probably not so pear-friendly.) On your advice, I’m really trying to avoid white, but these dresses are almost too tempting to resist! 😛
You’re right Susan, the ones with sleeves in or puff arms would be better for pear shaped. Remember if white washes you out, wear jewellery in the neckline add a light jacket of colour if the weather allows. X.

Very useful video as I always struggle with footwear and knowing what type of shoe to wear with dresses.
Loved seeing the difference of hair up and earring vs necklace and hair down! Another great video with excellent styling tips…..
Off out for lunch with the girls in the white Zara playsuit you recommended a few videos ago 🥰
I bet you look lovely - enjoy your lunch!
You saved a navy shirt dress for me! I was feeling frumpy in it even with a belt, I unbuttoned a bit more, top and bottom, and what a difference. I'm not on display by any means! I really like it thank you.
Oh good! Love that you’ve made something old work xx
I love this information… I have issues pairing shoes with anything… please keep it going. Thank you
Very interesting! Thank you very much! I really learned a lot in this one! Now I have far more styling ideas for my white dresses 👍💫🌺
Maybe you could some day make a video about how to style and combine different kinds of longer necklaces ☺️ ?
Thank you for sharing my details Ellie, it really does make a difference x
Just found you. I’m a size 20uk and 5ft 3in. I found this tutorial invaluable. Thank you so much. You really know your stuff and I look forward to trying out the different styling tips x
Hello Eileen and welcome! You might be interested in my body shape master classes where I dress women of all different shapes and sizes live on youtube. If you click on my logo then the 'video' tab you'll see them all in date order. x
Thank you Melissa. I’m totally addicted to your videos and love your practical but pretty/stylish dressing🥰
Thank you Megan x
What a lovely thing to do, we cleared out our cupboards as moved house whilst we build. All our unwanted clothes and furniture went to homeless charities and refugees.
I’ve never bought a white dress as I’m accident prone but I’m tempted! X
Thank you. Really appreciated the information on the shoes to consider when wearing a particular dress 👍❤️. Loved every dress you chose.
Loved this video. You explain your styling techniques so well.
Your videos offer the best advice of any other YT stylist I've seen!
Would love to see a video featuring edgy, yet chic, clothing.
"How to be edgy without going over the top".
What a great idea, I’ll add it to the ideas list, thank you! X
Wow! Those are fabulous White dresses! I think I need to buy all of them! I've been wanting a white dress and I haven't been able to find one I like. Really good advice about hair and jewelry. Thanks!
Thanks Heidi x
Absolutely love your style...I noticed the beautiful simplicity of your sandals ...living in France ...they are Hermès(?) Very stylish timeless elegantness 🤩thank you so much for this beautiful video and amazing style tips
No, they’re from dune and some from Amazon! I tend not to show designer items. Everything should be linked for you x
My next video going up at the weekend shows you how to take your summer pieces and transition them so I think you might find that useful. x
Great video 😊 I like the fact that you give all the explanations thus we can follow the logic. And I love the styles too !
Glad you liked it!
unfortunately, the lining of that beautiful Mango dress is in fact mostly polyester - what are they thinking - lining a linen dress with 85% polyester??
Thank you, as a big busted, Apple shape short girl, your styling tips have really helped me.
Thank you Lisa. Maybe hold off on the third as lots of autumn suggestions coming up! X
That was so useful Melissa 👌..
I’m your height .. busty 34D… so have to be careful not to look like a shelf on the bust 😂..thanks for the tips … looking forward to browsing your clothing sale 👌.. excited.. hope you’re enjoying the weekend.. Pauline xx
The sale is now live Pauline. Just search for MM Personal Styling on Depop x
Such interesting content and great tips. Thank you so much, learning a lot x
Thank you so much for these wonderful tips and most of all for supporting Ukrainians ❤
Thanks so much. I just ordered the Mango linen dress. Exactly what I was looking for.
Oh good x
I just can’t believe that you would recommend a white dress for a Mom with children while traveling. I always wore prints when kids were around!
I love your advise and thank you for doing your videos . I look forward to watching them.
Bought the accessorise white dress via your link 👗 I hope the sun keeps shining!
Me too! It looks great with a linen blazer, leather or utility jacket too! X
Thank you... good reminders. I wonder about espadrille sandals? I like as add a little height but look more casual than heels. Thinking more for the more romantic style dress with frills or the off shoulder style.
They'd definitely work, yes x
Awesome video, Melissa. I always get so excited when one of your new videos pops up! 🥳
Any lighter toned shoes, light grey, beige, greige etc. would all look fantastic on you. X
Every one of your videos is so informative with practical tips on best ways to wear things for our figures. I wish you were here in Canada 🇨🇦!! But for now, I’ll diligently keep watching and learning …
Thank you. We do online styling for people all over the world if that helps? Details are all on my website x
Was I just wearing bad linen? I always found that it wrinkled badly. Thank you so much. This is educational!
You’re very welcome, thank you for watching x
Hello,
Thanks for the video, I am wearing a white jumpsuit for my engagement and need a shawl to cover my back, can you please give some ideas like which colour or fabric would go with a pure white jumpsuit?
Fantastic video! Such great tips! Your tan and nails looked stellar!
Thank you so much - it's fake tan!
I hope you love them, they’re lovely pieces xx
So helpful, always learning loads 💖
Love your videos Melissa.. Its a real pity though that they don't capture the head to toe outfit.. Could hardly see the footwear in this video 🙈
Sorry, I think RUclips changes the resolution on different platforms as when I’m editing it they’re all in full shot! X
Thank you very much for the video and tips! And thank you for your support ! 💛💙
Hi Melissa, great video as always. I’m struggling with what shoes and jacket to wear with a long sleeve classic white linen belted shirt dress. I would be wearing it either in a business casual context or just casual. Any tips would be much appreciated. Many thanks from Canada.
I’d pair it with a long cardigan - longer than the dress x
@@mmpersonalstyling Thanks so much for your reply :)
Absolutely love the short white dress.
Wonderful idea for contributing towards the Ukrainian people 💕💕Helpful video as always 👍
White looks amazing on you 😻
I’ve never ever worn a white dress 😳
You should try it! x
This was another great video Melissa! Very informative. Such useful tips. Tks.
Islay wood. Didn't realise how much shoes change an outfit, thank you ,in future l will take more care
Need a video on joggers hoodies for travel
If you have a look at my hair video I showed a jogger set in that one x
Great video as usual. Looking forward to your sale- hope I don’t miss it!
It’s live now! I did send a message out to all subscribers but don’t worry, it only went live at 7.30pm x
@@mmpersonalstyling hi thanks for this. I do subscribe to your channel but don’t seem to have received any link. Can you tell me how to find this sale? I follow you on instagram too. Thanks
Hi, love your tips! Thank you. Can you please give advise on belts?
how to measure to buy and where to find the one you have on.thank you!
My new video that goes live on Sunday is all about accessories so hopefully that will help x
All on point. I made some mistakes😉🌷
I enjoy your videos. They’re always informative. Unfortunately, we can’t see your shoes!
👌👗☺️💕 xx
I’m filming an Autumn one this week so you won’t have long to wait!
@@mmpersonalstyling fabulous! 💕
Yay! Looking forward to see what you might be selling!! Thanks for sharing 😁
It’s up and live now! Go to Depop and search for MM personal styling!
Hi Melissa! As always I find your video most helpful. However, when it comes to jewellery, I am not sure I have all the information I need. I wear glasses and I feel jewellery can be a bit too much... Could you help?
Of course, we do 1:1 styling for people all over the world. Visit our website for the details: www.MMpersonalstyling.co.uk
Great video and thank you for all the helpful styling tops.
Great Tips - thank you Melissa
Great recommendations! I learned a lot. Thank you,
Love your videos so much, thankyou for all that you have taught me!🙏💗
Happy to help!
Where is the beautiful white dressy strap dress from please? Gorgeous! Great tips as usual x
IGNORE ME! Youve put all the links in already! Thank you! X
These are such great tips! Thank you!
Like every video from you - very helpful and good explained and showed. You have such a wonderful sympathic charisma…. I would look your videos the whole day long 😃. Have wonderful day and thank you 😘
That’s incredibly nice of you to say so, thank you. Xx 😘
Always enjoy your videos..Love a white dress..❤
Ooh thanks for codes, 25% is substantial!! 👍☺️
I know right! It’s usually only 20% x
@@mmpersonalstyling to be fair, 20% is a pretty big help too 😉
Enjoy watching your videos. Have you done a styling for a rectangular shape, I don't seem to find it amongs the others - expecially for someone who is boringly classic! Thank you.
Not sure I have but if someone like that volunteers then I will!
Super! Thank you! 💐 ...and a black dresses when to expect? ☺ Im curious. I prefer black clothes 🙄(I have small children 😄)
Probably around Christmas time to be honest but I did show one in my latest H&M video x
Thank you Melissa, another really good video of do's and don'ts that really make sense when you explain them. Enjoying some recent purchase from Monica Vinader 😍 Really like your watch/ watches that you wear too.....could you tell us where they are from?
Oh good, glad you like your jewellery. I wear two different watches, one is an apple watch and one is a really old (at least 10 years old) from Michael Kors. x
Melissa I am the 5’4” I find that size bag over powering (straw bag)
There are lots of smaller versions available but i'm shorter than you and find they work well but if something feels not right on yourself then go with that gut instinct rather than wearing what you think you should be wearing. Confidence is key! x
thank you so much...truly appreciate this xxxx
What a video Melissa. I have the Mango white dress and was so pleased to see that you featured it in your video. I was thinking - yes, Melissa approves! Too bad summer is on its way out. Do you think it will be ok to wear in early autumn with a black leather jacket and white trainers for example?
Sounds like you've got similar taste to me Tanya! I've just filmed a 'how to transition your summer wardrobe' video, it'll be up at that weekend and it shows you exactly how to do this so watch out for that one x
@@mmpersonalstyling can’t wait!!
I have a white dress for family pictures on the beach, which accessories do you recommend
I’m sorry but it totally depends on the neckline, the style, your skin tone, the occasion etc. so many factors at play. We do 1:1 consultations where we can assess it for you, details can be found at www.mmpersonalstyling.co.uk
Can't wait for the Depop sale. Will it ship to New Zealand? Thanks 😊😊
I’m honestly not sure, if I can choose that option then I will!
Wonderful video Melissa
Nice try on, love your picks, thank for hsaring
Thank you so much 🤗
