@@Adjuni Each genius has their own campaign, unique custom island and doomsday device. In the story mode those are all pre defined with 4 unique story to play through. (the expansion will add a 5th) There is a sandbox mode though, and we don't know if you have more freedom there to maybe pick from any of the doomsday devices, but we do know you aren't locked into the story campaign in sandbox.
While i naturally am looking forward to this, i do feel its a shame that there doesnt seem to be a big diffrence between agents from different F O J organizations as in the original. You could usually distinguish different countries agents on the spot. Tho maybe its just cause they have been allowed to show limited footage which is understandable.
Best thing about going to lands end is seeing the king Arthur story narrated by Brian Blessed. Best 14 minutes of my life that I've ever spent fully clothed.

Looks a lot like its going to be pretty much a modernising of the original game, with some welcome changes to certain design choices (like the "no moving to Island 2"). Which seems just fine. :)
I just noticed, "Total Minions In Lair: 193 - Lair Capacity: 123". So you can have more minions now without a restricting locker build requirement, but i guess there's a total negative effect somehow for having more minions than the capacity allows? Update: I just realised there's a daily cost for the minions, so it might be a "overburdened" Tax on having to many minions on the payroll.
@Steve The Turret maybe, but the screen for the minion training/management that was shown did not show a warning about it. Might just be an oversight in that build-version's case.
If you can mod this game, there is only one thing i would want. Your in your evil lair, plotting your scheme and watching over the construction of your doomsday weapon. But suddenly the alarm go's off. An agent is making there way through your base! Who is this intruder? You managed to get a look through the security cams, and you exclaim: "PERRY THE PLATYPUS!!??"

Evil Genius is in my top 3 games of all time. The freedom to plan, experiment and adapt makes it one of the most re-playable and therefore best value for money as well. I literally never pre-order but for this I'm looking forward to making an exception and supporting Rebellion. What I wanted was basically a remake with tweaks and improvements, a gentle evolution of the original and it looks like that's what we are getting. I am glad you guys had the integrity and commitment to your principles to delay the game until it is ready. The people that like Evil Genius generally love it, if the base game is great we'll be looking for DLC in the future and we'll be happy to pay for it - just a heads up ;)

With the latest Henchmen video released, I know who I'm using first: Zalika the super-science Evil Genius and IRIS the android henchwoman with the air hostess costume and the ability to french fry agents with SCIENCE!! I'm really hoping for action figures of all these characters: seriously, who wouldn't want Maximilian glowering down at you while you're taking over the world, or Jubei and his Walking Stick of Doom whispering " Gojira!!" as if he was still in the first game, slicing up agents like salami??
Will there be a "Favorite Minion" button? I love random character generators, because it means I can watch my favored characters grow or die at my whim.

@@MrCheshireify As long as there's an Equal amount of Henchmen 1's who do everything 'right' that comically die, I wouldn't mind playing a game mode where you -are- a minion and trying to survive a base while also doing your job.

I get the feeling that this is going to be GOTY for me and many others. Evil Genius 1 was the first strategy game I had ever played way back in 2008 when I bought my first gaming laptop while I was serving in Iraq and has always stayed on my top 5 list throughout the years. Thank you to everyone at Rebellion for working so hard to bring us this game. I can’t wait to begin my plans of world domination on March 30th!

we did get revealed that good ol max has returned to capitalist top form, his superweapon midases the world, i am more intrigue by what the two newcomers can do... and because in my lairs exactly everything is on fire regularly. so the lady with the repair and extinguish abilities will probably become my favourite quickly. sorry ivan but you know what you did.

You REALLY need to get some press interested in this. I JUST found out about this today and it was by random chance! I've been playing Evil Genius since it first came out! I am stoked that there is a sequel and also that it's out for steam now too!
certain objects cant be researched unless you have a specific object in your base. Look on the wiki, it will tell you what you need to unlock things. To unlock the piranha trap, you need to have a venus man trap somewhere on your island so a science minion can research it.
We've seen what I can only assume is the S.M.A.S.H. (or equivalent, you get me) Super-Agent, and it's not Mariana, so no luck there. We've also seen one that I cannot imagine works for anywhere but H.A.M.M.E.R., and it's not Frostanova, but both of these two look fantastic just from their appearances. We've also had it hard confirmed that P.A.T.R.I.O.T. has a new Super-Agent, the mysterious Agent X, who's the man in the trenchcoat and flag shirt we've seen in several trailers. Contrary to how he keeps getting foiled in the publicity material, Agent X also appears to be a _complete asshole,_ with a moveset that's a horrifying combination of tricks that used to belong to Frostanova and John Steele. So, no Mariana, no Frostanova, and no Dirk Masters. But they haven't confirmed or denied anything relating to A.N.V.I.L. or Jet Chan, and while of course they're not saying anything, I'm fairly certain I've seen a man in a distinctive white tuxedo coat in a few screenshots...
@@InchonDM You fail to account for their reappearance as non-super agent style characters. Frostnova as an insane henchperson. Maria Mamba as an overstuffed politician. Heck, you could even include them as a mini-boss style quest as they try and come at you for revenge.
Part of the thing with defeating them in the first game is that you broke them completely, making sure that they never work for the forces of justice again

Mamba was simply made fat, but she was still a badass action spy who could kill legions of guards with her bare hands. Jet just lost his pride, which a training montage can EASILY recover. If any of the Super Agents would return to work on the side of good, it'd be them. Likewise, John Steele 2.0 could easily return with a new actor, given he's based on James Bond.

I'd love to fight a 4 way battle, against the forces of good and the other geniuses. Send troops to spy on or sabotage the other geniuses (even if off screen) just sending off troops. Looking fwd to a actually well working cover system i.e. hotel and such. Sometimes you have to spend more money in cover operations then actual evil operations.
Please learn from Cyberpunk 2077 and do adequate testing and QA so you launch 0-day with as few bugs as possible. Ideally, if you could support your inevitable community by allowing Mods to flourish, it'd be good too.
any plans on support after launch? it was a shame the first game didn't get any expansions and was just kind of left to rot with a bunch of bugs that needed fixing
You know I had one request and that is friggin laser beams attached to their heads! Not regular sharks, not handheld lasers and definitely not ill-tempered mutated sea bass' Sharks, with LASER BEAMS ATTACHED TO THEIR HEADS!
The origianl Evil Genius was a very big part of my childhood and got me through some really dark times. Please, please, please Rebellion, do not mess this game up . I really want to hope that this sequel will be good but i've been burnt in the past by other game companies. I just don't want my good memories of the last game to be wrecked is all...

Just make sure you do a really good job debugging it before release. EG 1 is amazing but my god the bugs are atrocious.

any plans on support after launch? it was a shame the first game didn't get any expansions and was just kind of left to rot with a bunch of bugs that needed fixing

The origianl Evil Genius was a very big part of my childhood and got me through some really dark times. Please, please, please Rebellion, do not mess this game up . I really want to hope that this sequel will be good but i've been burnt in the past by other game companies. I just don't want my good memories of the last game to be wrecked is all...

this game is taking place a good deal after EG1. thats why red ivan and jubei are old and Eli has a son in his place
