We need a day night cycle again, Rebellion! Hope it is part of a free update but would be cooler if it could be tied into game mechanics...like in the first game have tourists retire to their rooms and minions feel more of a need to sleep at night time, but to compensate agent attacks are smaller and less dangerous at night too. Great game regardless but excited to see it get greater!
This game is a blast. I love it. Would kill for an option to walk through my lair in first person. The design of everything is so fun I just want to study it up close.
@@troyklein6379 If the Zero Punctuation review is anything to go by, people seem to dislike how hands off the game is, and can't be bothered to learn how to play properly. It isn't as intuitive as your average AAA game, so your average EA customer doesn't have the patience to learn and understand the mechanics.
always begin the day with a drill and shoot at least 2 minions in the morning ensures maximum alertness and is rather entertaining to watch the chaos ensue
I love how a lot of this is genuine evil but then there’s the small things that are more just minor inconveniences or menial pranks that are just mean. It’s funny actually.😊
Fix that bug with the spreading flames from Excalibur i cannot continue playing because of it . It just keep frantically spreading flames across me base and distract minions from thier duties as well as training.
Huh, I didn’t have that problem. In fact, Excalibur didn’t cause any fires for me. Though admittedly, it’s not like bugs pop up on everyone’s systems, so maybe I just got lucky.

I love this game! I wish i knew how to use the valet's to distract the agents though, i don't seem to be understanding it. They always waltz through the casino into the lair, despite me having like 20 valets and plenty of distractions along the way.. even if i mark them for distraction. Or is there something I am missing?
Max didn't even have a inner sanctum this must of been a movie set because like a true evil genius max didn't want to reveal the true lay out of his lair

This game is great...... well it was until I got 2 super agents at my base at the exact same time, and because I smartly put security at the opposite side of the base, a lot of my minions died, all in the cente of a crutial chokepoint. This lead to all my minions losing morale and the entire work force deserting me, I responded with trying to punish them, which when I ran out of prison cells, meant I had to kill them, which lead to more morale gone and nobody trying to burn the bodies aaand everything imploded from there. Safe to say I've learnt my lessons for run 2
@@seriousdraw You know, I don't know if the game is well made or not and I would only find out after I bought the game. Those however who have already bought the game can tell whenever the gameplay is polished and balanced or not. I want to know the opinions of those with more expirience than me so that I can make more informed decisions.
i played Evil Genius 1 when it came out a decade ago - that game's world map mode, storylines, designs & systems were all amazing. Agents from different regions also had unique visual designs, which made each faction unique. Evil Genius 2 is an upgrade in some ways, like the higher resolution, better textures & lighting. However, gameplay & tone are downgrades (maybe a B compared to A+ in EG1). For gameplay: EG2 feels very commercial cookie-cutter, and lacks a lot of the finer details from the first game. World map gameplay is now dumb - you can only send workers (whereas in EG1, you could read each mission detail and decide if you want to send more brains / scientists or muscles / guards to help it succeed). Controls in EG2 is also buggy, and will take some manual fine-tuning; conflicting keyboard shortcuts sometimes don't get highlighted to you (so you won't know what is wrong unless you look & try in detail). In-game items: EG2 is missing a lot of essential items & the special discovery journey to open up items that made the first game special (e.g. by interrogating agents in a mess hall food mixer, etc). Now in EG2, most unlockable items just don't feel that special - research is also now just a boring clickable menu. Using doors as an example, there's just basically just one type of door functionally in EG2 - no more special functions or unique settings that help you make some doors more special than others (which was possible in EG1). Tone: EG1 struck a fantastic balance between comedy and seriousness (especially in the World Map mission stories). However, EG2 overall is more like "a comedy featuring an evil genius" - a lot of the missions, stories and dialogues in EG2 are just too silly. It feels like a game made to entertain 10-12 year olds, not really a sequel for people who played EG1 when it came out. None of the missions really mattered, and so that really took a lot of the intensity / high-stakes feeling away. EG2 just isn't very good imo - I'd give it a 6 or 6.5/10 for old time's sake. I wish the studio did better market research and positioned the product more correctly (less humour for kids, more seriousness). Its old fan base from the first game is now like 30 years old, and would have preferred slightly more serious tone than elementary school level jokes and humour.
@@derek400004 While I agree on a lot of points, EG2 does have separate doors. You have to research them. Unfortunately you can't limit who goes through them.
Whatever you do, never say that there’s more to life than making money in earshot of this guy. Not unless you wanna be blown to dust and then fed to piranhas for good measure.
The reviews and stuff are mixed. There are the positive reviews and there are the negative reviews. There's buggy pathfinding, minions that aren't technicians or costruction workers have salaries, minions in general are more fragile, and the presence of Denuvo has angered some people already. I don't like to be the bearer of bad news Rebellion, but I probably won't buy until Denuvo goes away.
