Picking your Evil Genius is your first, and possibly most important, task in Evil Genius 2. Emma for sure. I get the vibe she's inspired by criticism of the hectic nature of the first game and built around the "run the tutorial until you're filthy rich" exploit. I also get the sense that she's the closest option to being able to play "Lovely Genius", at least until you get bored and want to ramp it up. Also the whole idea of "M" going rogue and her reasons for doing so absolutely intrigue me.
lol I used the tutorial money exploit in the original a lot, although it definitely broke the flow of money in the early game. Hopefully they something like that this time around.

The moment I saw Zalika, I knew she was the one I was going to play first. I've always had a thing for technocrats in video games and her design is so sleek and stylish.

I see Dr Evil from Austin Powers, Mom from Futurama, M. Bison from Street Fighter, and Olivia Octavia from Into the Spiderverse
*Small Brain:* Zalika stole Maximillian's research buff ability from Evil Genius 1.
*Big Brain:* Maximillian's research buff didn't work in the unpatched EG1 anyways, so Zalika didn't steal anything.
*Galaxy Brain:* Maximillian's money gathering buff is in line with his old research buff, which would/should have reduced research costs by 90%.
*Red brain:* Research is finite but the hordes of agents to kill are limitless.
Sly Brain: Max's research buff didn't work because Zalika stole it so she could build IRIS when she was 6.
Brain?: Zalika getting the research buff from the divorce the divorce
Red Ivan is voiced by BRIAN BLESSED? Oh, that is going to be a wonderfully hammy job.

I'm between Emma or Ivan honestly; and not really because they have star power. Emma's got that unique game feel of "I'm going to take over the world in a way where no one will even know that anything ever happened" as well as the unique thrill of constantly tricking my enemies and sending them away before they ever get too deep.
Red Ivan however is just because of "Soviet Dictator" esque fantasy. Step 1. Lots of Red. Step 2. Lots of people with weapons. Step 3. Throw the Casino into the ocean. Step 4. ???? Something about Rockets. Step 5. Good old military conquest of the world!
Red Ivan is also voiced by BRIAN BLESSED as an extra plus in his favor.
I picked Red Ivan for the same reason. (And also because when I played as max, I didn’t realize how hard medium difficulty is for the first play through of this series)

Ah, yes, my biggest frustration on my last playthrough of the original. It's just a Hotel with a few empty cabins, guys, no need to go shooting the employees, and please don't go into the staff only area!
Zalika's earpiece looks very similar to the one Spock used with Captain Kerk's run in Star Trek.
Torn between Zalinka and Ivan. I like base building but I also like blowing stuff up. Lol
I'm going to play them all in this order: Red Ivan, Zalika, Emma, and finally Maximilian Von Klein!
The reason for Red Ivan first being I just like playing the most destructive option in games, you say "Friendly Fire" I say "Acceptable Casualties", you say "Serious Structural Damage" I say "A New Skylight For The Casino!"

I’m fairly certain that the genius who succeeded in ruling it all was Alexis. Simply because it would be in her character to get it all, then give it up because it was boring, just like her media empire, just like her movie roles. Truly not even the world was enough for Alexis...
Bringing her back as an evil genius from there would be difficult, but possible if she realised there really was nothing else to do. Except maybe to explore the stars and find other intelligent beings to bask in her radiance. She probably figured out how to stop aging or something too.
Zalika of course. It's all about the goggles.

I am curious if with Emma you can play very slow and safe, making money from casino and minor thefts, and reducing the small bits of heat, until you are very well established and take the world by storm.

Same here, I'm knew to the franchise, and I think I'll try first with Max.
(I'm probably going to do Zalika first. She looks like the sort to merrily invent bio-weapons! And I have an unhealthy obsession with those.
With that said, they all look good! I'll be doing a playthrough with all of them, probably with Emma as the second option, I like her style.)

I gotta say I’m almost convinced I’m going Emma first. I’d normally go Zalika but Emma just sounds far more interesting. Also if she’s former head of H.A.M.M.E.R, she probably knows Frostonova. Always thought rather than tearing her teddy bear apart, you should have been able to recruit Frostonova for yourself to rid the world of H.A.M.M.E.R’s cruelty, so that no one would experience the terror she did as a child, ultimately concluding that there is no good in the world, just different types of evil. Plus she could use Mr. Snuggles as an ability.
I like to go with Red Ivan and keeping the heat low as possible. A bit counter productive, but there is nothing quite like parking Ivan's inner sanctum right at the front door and using him to blast the few who actually manage to come through.

I think so, or at the very least she certainly did good, considering Emma trained bloody John Steele of all people.
I'll probably stick with Max at first, but I'm definitely going to try Ivan at some point!
(Also I love how the "old photo" in Ivan's description is how he looked in the original game! Nice touch!)

I love you guys, I saw a gameplay preview on ign, thought realized you guys where the people behind the Sniper elite series, which i love as well, bought and played the original and i have now pre ordered no 2. If it’s anything like the original with all its charm, unique ideas, fantastic gameplay (God, i love the traps), BANGER OF A SOUNDTRACK( i can not thank you enough for bringing back the composer) im sure ill love it. Keep doing what you do guys, ITS AMAZING

I'm torn between Zalika and Maximilian. Having an advantage in minion recruitment and maintennance of the base struck me very hard in the first game.

It's launch day baby!! Haven't watch any videos because I want to be surprised
if playing on hard, ivan makes things easier early on since you can spam muscles around with less money and he is quite capable of dealing with agents in combat, i would advise to only use his rocket launcher against super agents (he shreds them hard)
My nostalgia says Maximilian but my heart says Zalika.
I got questions on minions jobs priorities? Does the speed priority work on specific genius class. Like examples, my old playthrough is Zalika and she's a scientist one. She help speed up resources, but can she speed up other jobs? Other job like training, broadcast, room construction and other stuff.
Zalika seems interesting to play with. Maximilian has always been a good classic. I will miss the Chinese evil genius though, I forgot his name. He was my favorite. Can't wait to play this, but I'll have to wait for a lower price, it's quite expensive for now.

I absolutely loved Evil Genius 1 and already bought Evil Genius 2 on Steam. Can't wait to get my hands on it.
Shen Yu has been my favourite of the three original Geniuses. Hope, he will make a return - that would be a DLC I would buy.
My first playthrough will definitely be Emma. I always wondered what would happen, if M turned rogue on MI6. Can't wait for it. I can hear her already in my mind.

I think first playthrough I'll just use Max for nostalgia's sake, but then I'll definitely choose either Zalika or Emma for the next playthrough. Or I could just keep four separate sandbox saves, one for each genius. I don't know!
