I gotta admit that DCC generally does a good job with the IP adaptations. You can really see their love of the material. I just wish they had acquired Conan instead of Modiphius.
Glad to see more DCC on the channel!
I literally just picked this up two days ago! I'm loving the setting and vibes for sure haha
My group and I have done over half of the adventures. There are three more adventures to look for if you enjoy the Shudder Mountains setting. One is in "DCC Day 2022 Adventure Pack", Incident at Toad Fork a level 2 adventure. The Goodman Games 2021 Yearbook has the adventure “Black Mountain Lights”. The last I know of is Dungeon Crawl Classics RPG: #11 Came the Monsters of Midwinter - 2022 Holiday Module.
I really enjoy running this setting. There is a lot of heart and horror to keep everyone entertained. The added material in the hardcover book is wonderful if you only have the boxset. I cannot wait to finish this campaign.
I just got my DCC starter set from Goodman Games this week. Your videos helped me make the decision to check out DCC and I'm glad I did.
It's a fantastic game, it's become my absolute favorite!
Did you get the beginner package with the softback rule book, adventure, and dice? That package is such a great value.
I did, amazing value. I was especially excited when they sent me the glow dice in the set :)
@@rlightfoot9504 Goodman Games is a really good company. Their books are well made.
Welcome to the Band!
DCC is my favorite DnD book
Thanks for all your DCC content, Jorphdan. Keep it comin'!
You bet!
Yes!!! OMG, I LOVED running through this super adventure/setting. I’ve put 2 campaigns there, and finally finished the main quest this past spring. Thank you for showcasing an amazing product!!!!!
Yes more DCC please!
I live in Alabama, so I was hesitant to grab this one for a long time. I felt it might be too " on the nose" for me. It's not, it's a really fantastic setting and series of adventures. Goodman Games makes really great products.
Where in Alabama
@@brucegrossman3531 I'm in Tuscumbia. The ending of the Appalachians is on the other side of the state, but I have visited several times. Had my honeymoon there.
@@midnightgreen8319 I first lived in Russellville when I moved down here. Now I'm in Birmingham. Argh the commute to long.
The art of the coffin has my interest. Looks like a vampire or undead mystery
It’s so amazing to see more in-depth DCC content. AND from such a great creator!
That podcast looks incredibly interesting. Thanks for bringing it to my attention!
Thanks.
Always cool to see more DCC
yeah givem re more dcc bro
The OGoA podcast discord, pointed me towards the chained coffin, which got me into DCC. Which is now my favorite ruleset.
YES! More DCC! Keep 'em coming!
Rad overview as always!
Appreciated this review. Really liked the idea of handouts as a way to orient players to enemies and environments while still focusing on theater of the mind style gaming. Might take that approach with a project I've got in the works!
I have the box set and love it. Let's know if you would like to see
When you start singing, your stealth will increase 😃
They also have magic Hush-Puppies that add to your stealth. But it sure is hard to sing with a hush-puppy in your mouth... :D
Is there like, an “Official setting”? Like a GreyHawk for DCC? I’m new to DCC and am really loving it. This one really speaks to the low key creepy-horror fan in me.
Goodman Games does have a setting called Aereth but it is designed to be more unknown. Part of the design with DCC is the world is mysterious and unknown, magic is unpredictable! This is why you'll find new monsters and spells in modules outside of the core rulebook. It's a discovery to both the players and the Judge!
Chained Coffin, Purple Planet, Lanhkmar, and Dying Earth are exceptions. The first two are sub genres or could be incorporated. Lankhmar and Dying Earth are book series which allow you to use DCC rules in those settings specifically (which are more detailed). I hope that helps!
This might be an interesting to adapt to wierd frontiers
💯
This sounds amazing, but is no longer available.
300xp
Being from Alabama I'm really interested in this. lol My dream is to run a full-redneck 5e game, with 'possum familiars and Waffle Houses being run by the Fey.
😂
You still in Alabama? I live in Tuscumbia, running the fire out of DCC.
