It's MEeee, Aaron, Bill Cole, Thank you for taking your time, effort, & equipment to answer my question about "Zipped, or Unzipped". I've read all the replies up to this point B4 composing the following: I've never fully unzipped my Antelope (GWS) - short, & never knew about the problems. Hence, forth, I'll NEVER fully unzip, thanks for alerting me to a potential problem that I can easily avoid. I've stuffed my bag "ZIPPED", & always, for no specific reason, pushed the foot box end in first. I got to thinking, when I emailed you, that if I stuff it "ZIPPED", the zipper might lot like the pressure/creases, The UNZIPPED zipper teeth might snag the fabric, that I might be creating potential zipper problems. Rest assured, I'll continue doing what I've been doing all along, stuffing ZIPPED, foot box end in first into my Sea To Summit Waterproof Stuff Sack with the eVent bottom. I can hear air escaping from the bottom as I'm stuffing the sleeping bag into the Waterproof Stuff Sack. Believe me when I tell you I make every effort to keep my Sleeping bag from getting wet. I'm confident it will keep MEeee comfy, cozy, warm, as long as it stays dry. Now if I can only figure out some way to keep from sliding off my XTherm air mattress as I'm a side sleeper & frequently turn from one side to the other, however, this is another topic for another time.
Thank you for the idea, I appreciate it! I never worried about zipper creases, as the WM zippers are fine tooth and are quite flexible. I'll work on the other question for you.
Maybe try some of the kitchen shelves and drawer liner. It is not to heavy. I got the soft cushioned type and place it between the pad and sleeping bag. Help the slipping issue.
Hey Aaron great service all your sleeping bag vids I learned a lot from you thank you another reason for zipping is because that allows only one side of the bag to be the air escape fabric as you stuff. So if you zip up and turn the bag inside out the liner becomes the only air escape fabric which makes stuffing easier because the liner allows air to pass through it easier than the shell which may be a more durable and thicker nylon than the shell but it also has all that windstop coating or water repellency coating etc which additionally interrupts air from passing through compared to the liner.
I don't get snags from the WM zipper teeth. The teeth are pretty fine, so the only snags I've ever experienced are on a loose thread. That type of problem is super rare, though possible. Another good reason to put the bag in the stuff sack zipped.
Most important: never stow your sleeping bag or tent with the zipper halfway open, then there is a risk of the zipper being destroyed when it is folded where the runner is.
All very valid point on why to. Zero experience in winter snow expeditions but have be in all kinds of wet precipitation ones. Question do you have a video about winter layers maybe more of the soft shell realm?

Zip it up, that’s a wrap. Never thought of these critical valid reasons. Thanks for validating.
You bet

Good pointer!
I always zip for the sake of keeping the zipper teeth from snagging on fabric while stuffing. Love the other reasons though. Thank you.
That was my concern/reason/question for asking Aaron

Very informative, never thought that it could make a difference 😎
It does!

True!
I open up the bag inside the tent
