Tested my WM Puma Gore at -26°F and kept me nice and warm. It’s nice to only have one zipper than fiddling around with 2 or 3 when using multiple bag systems. At those temps you appreciate that 😄
Nice video. I'm interested in a winter sleeping bag that would be suitable for sleeping under the stars (or a tarp) in addition to using it within a tent. For this type of use case would the GWS fabric make the most sense? Seems like I could also have this flexibility with a MF bag if I used a bivy (when sleeping outside). Trying to decide between the MF and GWS. I live in Maine. Thanks.
If you have the option to have just one sleeping bag for most of your trips, which one would you buy? Watching your videos, I'm really considering to buy wm megalite sleeping bag to use in every kind of backpacking trip. I need something with a goog versatility. Thanks for the videos.
Thanks for the post. I was on the fence about getting a warm “bag” being a side sleeper. After much consternation, I ended up getting a 10* UGQ quilt. Haven’t yet tested it in subfreezing temperatures.
Nice videos you’ve done, very informatives. What do you think about combining 2 sleeping bag together (ex: 30F+10F) instead or buying it a big one (ex:-15F) on short winter expedition (few days) in Canada?
If you can swing it, a bigger one is better because you don't have to mess around with holding 2 sleeping bags together. Trying to manage one bag falling off the other at 2am at -20ºF is not enjoyable.
Thinner fabrics allow moisture to leave, yes. Here's my video on it: Does Moisture Escape a Down Sleeping Bag in the Cold? (4k UHD) ruclips.net/video/zKvoJuCXmng/видео.html
@@ALinsdau Thanks for the answer. I could not open the link, it said its private link. So if I am buying a 3 season fairly warm quilt for use in Iceland, a 7D material would be preferable to 10D for both inner and out layer as it breathes better ? Or use 7D inner and 10D in outer layer of quilt ?
Could you make a video about the different types of crampons and crampon bindings, as well as the different type of crampon styles for mountaineering/technical ice climbing?

Your channel is awesome! I’m always on it watching your reviews. I figure if they do good in Antarctica it’ll do good in Alaska. I enjoy your channel
Thanks so much!

Very good point!

GWS for sure with sleeping under the stars.

For versatility the Versalite. It goes to 5°F/-15°C and is very light
Good content. Which fabric for the Southeastern US? There the biggest issue is humidity. Anything that doesn’t breathe well is frustrating.
Microfiber or ultra-light fabric, either will do.
Get yourself an exterior waterproof mil spec bivy sac.

Is it easier for sleeping bags to get rid of inside moisture if internal and external material of sleeping bags is thinner, like ultralight ?
