Calicut airport is really risky airport but they still wont use heavy lighting on the runway ... like only the runway is visible when the plane is at finals
@@VinayakP exactlyy ..local airports in the gulf countries have better runway lighting than CCJ .... and talking about the runway ...many say they want ccj to close down after this incident...but personally im not into that ...if well maintained it is a beautiful airport ... they just need to do 2 things ..one , is to extend the runway length atleast by 300ft ...im just not saying this blindly by reading media ...i have flown about 20-25 times to ccj ...im a student in muscat, oman and we come here for vacation and most of the time i used to see that by the time the plane slowed down after thrust reversers it would have reached almost the end ...to be honest i even had a dream that time in which a plane couldn’t stop and fell of the cliff ...so in conclusion a little extension would be beneficial...two is what i said in the beginning good and professional lighting equipments ...rather than some dot lights like some kids placed some led lamps next to runway ...after all this CCJ will be the best among all 4 in kerala 💪🏻
@@aviationx1735 Yup for a table top,it's quite bad. I believe it has problems with water logging as well (no runway grooves) increasing risk of hydroplaning. DGCA hasn't even released a single report on #IX1344. Shows how concerned they are with people's lives.
@@VinayakP don’t know what’s dgca doing up there ... if this had happened in usa or any other countries the report would have come within atleast a month or two ...in this case what is it ...? 10 years , 15 years ?

This Landing at night is scary! Not even a single light ! RIP captain Sathe, we knew what you had to land in.

Definitely needs better infrastructure. Not even a center light is available.
