When he spoke about how raw, unbridled and free creating stories are, it spoke to me. That's what I do when I write for myself, and create for the sake of creating.
DWJ is one of my biggest influences as an artist and storyteller, so I’ve always devoured every interview I can from him and this is definitely one of the best ones. Can’t wait for the next episode!
An incredible artist and a true master in storytelling. His comics are full of life and heart. Murder Falcon was thé first time I ever cried (litteraly) reading a comic book. It happens to me all the Time with movies (lol) but never before with a comic book. The money was low when I discovered DJW works but I had to buy and read everything From him I could find, after this first Murder Falcon impact. He never disapointed me. Murder Falcon and Do a Power Bomb are my absolute favorite comic books of all time now. And the art is so energetic and gorgous, I can stop myself to open one of his books and just admire it almost everytime I see them on my shelf (which is a lot). Thank you for your hard work and your big heart, mister Johnson!!!
Thank you! Thank you, thank you, thank you! This video is soooo awesome! For me, this combines everything I love when it comes to pop culture. It makes me soooo happy seeing DWJ showing so much enthusiasm and passion when it comes to comics (and pro wrestling 😉). Absolutely awesome piece of work!
Nice interview and interviewee. His style in Extremity caught my eye and Murder Falcon had passion project written all over it. Never been too into Transformers but I may just pick up his run. 👍✌🤟
your channel just popped into feed - but as someone very new to comics, this was really neat interview! picked up some of DWJ's books at the library this week
Here’s a pitch for a Golf comic. The worlds greatest golfer Tom Warren Henderson is targeted by an intergalactic coalition to represent humanity in the first and last universal Golf tournament were the losers planets are permanently exterminated. Unfortunately for earth, the invaders snatch semi pro golf caddie Tom Henderson Warren instead. Not to mention universal golf has its own unique set of rules.
Yeah that transformers comic is PEAK. Super not afraid to do crazy stuff and I gotta say I love it
I watched the original movie in theaters in 1986. I was scarred for life...

His Cable Shirt by JRJR is so dope.

I didn't know anything about Transformers before the new Skybound books, and I'm fully Autobot-pilled now. Would recommend.

What type of airbrush is being used?
Wholesome ass dude.
Great interview Payton, even if you didn't get around to discussing the framed photo of Martok, son of Urthog in the background 😉
