That last scene with the fly was a parody of the final scene from Psycho.
Until this episode everyone had believed the proprietor of City Wok was just a really bad Chinese stereotype. This episode revealed why he was such an ill informed bad Chinese stereotype (although it was probably a massive retcon).

First it was Episode 201, then this, then the whole post Covid stuff (let’s face it, they had to find a way to continue the show and that was the best way to do it) and now with what happened in the streaming wars. (I failed not to mention any of the retcons intentionally as to not spoil any of the episodes/movies) also there is probably plenty of other minor retcons no one has picked up on yet or don’t care enough to think about.

Trey's stereotypical Asian accents are some of the best features of South Park. Great episode to cover. Have you seen, "The Death Camp of Tolerance" yet? It's a great controversial episode that introduces Mr. Slave, one of the best characters of South Park.
Also that episode is more relevant today than when it aired

Randy Marsh is by far the funniest of all the quirky dads in South Park. But you have to be careful with Stephen Stoch, this guy is insane and Linda is also psychotic. Poor Butters.

You HAVE TO!! Japanese ramen is INCREDIBLE! There are so many shops here that serve delicious ramen. And no two shops make ramen the same…and you have regional specialties, too…so good!
I also recommend trying things like soup curry Theres a lot of really awesome food in japan

another episode where butters is just screwed up and destroyed is the “the return of the fellowship of the rings to the two towers” its also just a pretty good episode

I just wanted to say how much I enjoy your reactions to South Park (one of my favorite shows) Thank you as well for translating some of the Japanese in the show. This episode had so many twists and turns. It’s been a long standing joke that instead of city wok, he pronounces it “shitty” wok. In another episodes the kids called up just to hear him say “an order of shitty chicken and shitty beef” 😂

Here's something you need to know, Mr. Takiyama survived his death as some type of object broke his fall. Due to of that he goes through several surgeries in his back. As a response he had several braces hardwired into his back after the surgery. He eventually returned as a background character in the South ParQ Vaccination Special.
so Just to add a bit to this Episode when Butters was pretending to be a Truck Driver He was reciting Lyrics from a Song Called Convoy that was written by an Artist called C. W. Mcall A Country Singer and Truck Driver Who Himself was a Character Created by William Dale Fries Jr. in 1974 with the Intent of Selling Loaves of Bread using Country style Jingles. it's quite a story really.
William basically Became C.W. Macall after Convoy was a Big Hit. The Song According to Wikipedia is about a Convoy of Trucks Going from L.A. to Flagstaff Arizona.

South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut
Mr. Takayama was a new character created for this episode, but Lu Kim has been a series staple for years. This episode was like Tolkien’s name update, a sort of in-universe retcon to explain away the racism of earlier seasons without invalidating them.

I like that the Doc is named Dr Janus. In Roman mythology, Janus was the 2 faced god aka The god of Change. South Park did a great job using that name to symbolize his duality and change. Enjoy your content btw!

I’m so glad I was born English and never had to learn a second language. People all over the world speak English and so many do it so terribly including a lot of people who are English. All that conflict and the sushi guy dies in the end, meanwhile there's minimal overlap between their respective cuisines and no reason both restaurants couldn't succeed. It was actually Dr. Janus who believed the stereotype that they're the same or else he wouldn't have felt threatened.
When i was in japan, i got a different ramen every other day. I ate more veggies than ever before in my life and cooked up the discount salmon sashimi for breakfast. I made and ate my own mochi from scratch. I went to a revolving sushi joint and ate a natto roll and it was the only thing on the trip i didnt like. Beef tongue tripped me up a little at bbq but not so much that i wouldnt have it again if i didnt know it was tongue. I miss japan a lot and i would love to live there but theres a lot of reasons i cant.

This episode really hits the mark on some of the beliefs that Mainland Chinese have about Japanese. I have lived in China for about a decade and I've heard just about every anti-Japanese thing one could possibly hear. Yes, it's important to know about history and never forget what happened, but what do the atrocities committed by the Japanese have to do with Japanese people who weren't even born at that time? What doesn't make sense is that despite all of the hate that the Japanese get here in China, Chinese love Japanese products. So at the end of the day it makes no sense, I just love how South Park uses humor to shine a light on the senseless hatred that the Chinese have toward the Japanese.

I lived in japan for 7 years and the inverse is true too over there. There is an unspoken hierarchical belief that Japanese are the number one for purest genetic heritage (all being direct descendants of the sun god). Koreans are number two, China in third and down to the lowest being the Philippines , Indonesia and Micronesia. The Chinese hatred of the Japanese I believe is well warranted considering for years they used Chinese civilians in weapons testing and surgical experimentation (sans anaesthesia) if you want to further research I think they were called unit 317 or something like that. Truly inhumane and cold blooded shit.
