    • @angief6364
      @angief6364 Год назад +47

      Something else came to my mind. Not just the lacking of a husband/father figure, but also the codependent, toxic and abusive relationships where there is a victim and an abuser.
      Since the beginning of the episode, it is put that Cartman, a manipulative, narcisistic, aggresive and dominant bastard abuser, is the culprit for his own behaviour and no one can tame him, and his mother is a constant victim for his abuse. Then at the last minutes of the episode, it is proved that his mom is the one at fault, and if she is a victim is because she allows, nurtures and excuses her son's bad behaviour.
      Hard to believe it because she looks so kind and sweet (despite her sexual and perverted life record), but very deep down she is such a selfish woman and thinks that acting nice and spoiling her kid would fill her own void.

      It's a good showing of how enablers are just as much of a problem as the people they enable. Even if someone is genuinely on the path to recovery or just correcting a terrible habit they have their enabler(s) might guide them back off the correct path so they can go turn around and go right back to enabling them some more. It's why relationships involving an addict, particularly romantic relationships, can be such a vicious cycle of trying to sober up but ultimately failing. Now I'm not saying every relationship involving an addict is like that, it'd be factually incorrect and a gross misrepresentation of reality, just that you have to correct the behavior and throught process of an enabler just as much as you do the addict or enabled in question.

    Your comment on caligraphy touched me. It is the weirdest thing but just learning a little English caligraphy you will never buy a greeting card again, being able to make art with words conveys so much more care it takes a little time, less than it would to drive to the store though. There is something special about "drawing" words putting a tiny extra bit of yourself in the message that is fulfilling.

    It's actually like TWO of the Saw movies lol (The hacksaw thing and the need to find the antidote are from different movies so it was like Cartman was double-inspired by Saw to do that to the kid). Also I love that Jimmy asked Cartman about his last name. Might be an easter egg thrown in by the creators, since characters sometimes have name changes when they go from one-off or background characters to prominent ones. Jimmy's last name was Swanson when he was first introduced but became Vallmer later on when he became a major character on the show (similarly to how Butters' father was initially named Chris but later was Steven).

  • @felixmalcherek2919
