This is Joey’s best moment. He is the most loyal friend ever. He was willing to take the fall for the nude photo just to keep Monica and Chandler’s relationship secret. But at the same time, he was able to outsmart them for always humiliating him. Well played Joey! Well played! 😂

Product placement like this is clever. It’s in character that Joey would have a bucket of chicken for himself, and Rachel’s delivery of the word chicken is hilarious. The KFC bucket then becomes a funny prop and seems necessary to the scene.

It’s just that product placement is often so obnoxious and out of character. Take the Netflix movie he’s all That. Every other scene has a piece of brand name junk food that is mentioned by brand. In this friends scene, they just call it chicken. And it gets written into the scene, it’s not just there to have a logo on the screen.

The Friends reunion made me realise that we are much more invested in these characters than the actors who played them.

Wasn't Joey smarter in the earlier seasons? I remember they did something similar with Kelly Bundy on "Married With Children"; in the earlier seasons she was smart but in later seasons they turned her into a blonde bimbo.
This really crossed the line for Chandler and Monica. They were willing to make Joey look like a creep just to keep their secret. The fact that Monica was smiling during that was just mean. I wish that we saw everyone's reactions later on with finding out that Joey really didn't sleep with Monica. I mean, I'm sure that did realize this, but still. I mean, when Ross found out that Chandler was sleeping with Monica, he didn't think that Joey knew at that point.
It escalated quickly from a pic, to a secret peephole, to pics of all of them while eating chicken!!!

@dflowers30 it was more so because of their past failed relationships. they were doing so well as a secret they just didnt want to risk ruining it by letting other people know.
Because if they have let everyone know it would not have their relationship, each friend will be involved in that relationship, which is not good.
