Excellent instruction. Reminds me of Harvey penicks swing the bucket analogy which i had some success with many years ago. Thanks for getting me back on track Harry :)

No problem at all, that sounds an interesting concept. Let me know how it goes after working on this!

Is it important to keep one’s eyes on the ball during the entire swing. I have always thought that the reason for keeping one’s head down was so that one is always watching the ball. That never made much sense to me because, having been an avid baseball player in my younger days, in golf the ball is always stationary before it is hit. Having abandoned golf because I found striking the ball consistently too difficult to master when starting at middle age. But now your videos have inspired me to try again.

Yes, that's a drill to release after the ball. Witj irons i set up with just a tiny more pressure on lead foot then goe into backswing pressure goes to trail foot then on through swing pressure goes on lead foot the whole foot then ends with pressure on lead foot heel. Lead hand holding serving platter at the end with elbows together. Ty harry

Yes that’s another great way of doing it, so rather than the initial trigger move to begin this you’re already set slightly more weight on the lead side. No problem, more to come!

@harryshawgolf ty harry, you are giving very good drills and advice, now if you can get everyone to practice the short game. 😀

That's one I don't do enough videos on, but possibly more content about this topic later this year.

Excellent video Harry on how to hit the center of the clubface! Yesterday, I was having a slight problem with catching the ball on the toe. I don't know if I was falling back or maybe too far away from the ball at set up(which I don't feel I was)! What you are demonstrating on the weight transfers almost looks like a "forward press" with the first pressure movement rather than the hands being pushed forward. In any event, you are showing there should be some body movement before starting the swing, rather than from a "frozen" start. I feel like I have more of a hand/arm forward press prior to making my takeaway. Your balance board drill looks interesting! Well Done Harry!

Thanks John, yes relax the arms and wrists and you should find that doing this press you pointed out will allow the hands to set more naturally ahead of the ball rather than forcing this to take place.

Thanks Harry! I always appreciate your advice and validations!!! I have tried what you are recommending with the "balance board drill" here at home nd it does feel good!!!@@harryshawgolf

Nice one Harry, this drill reminds me of Matt Wolfs swing ! ❤️

Hi James, thanks for commenting, yes of course the first move I show in this is similar to Mathew Wolfs trigger move?
Have you managed to put this into practice?

Going to give it a whirl tomorrow at the range, however, im striking it better than ever at the moment. So im trying not to alter too much at the moment. I can see this drill being excellent for driver though. I've noticed a lot of long drive competitor's have a trigger like this before they take the club back @@harryshawgolf

Yes, that's correct this move is very similar to what I did when I was training for long drive. How did it go at the driving range?

It was far to windy ! I've heard long drive training is intense !@@harryshawgolf

It is, wouldn't recommend it unless you've got a S&C Coach and stick to a consistent plan that's suits your goals.

I bought a downshift board as my weight transfer was horrendous and was always on my back foot. Resulting in no distance and moon balls. Problem I have with it now is I shank everything when hitting on the board 😢

Hi thanks for letting me know your struggles after purchasing the downshift board... i would recommend no shots when using the downshift board and to just use this when making practice swings... best without a club to help you feel the weight being transferred either side from backswing to downswing to finish. How's the res of your at the moment?
