8:55 This is one of the best golf instructional videos I have seen over the past 50 years. I expect anyone who follows Mr. Vickers’ approach, or better yet, takes instruction from him, will very quickly lower their handicap if they have normal coordination! Well done sir!
Brilliant video and very well explained. I had always been taught weight shift but there is a real distinction between weight shift and pressure shift. Does weight shift then basically follow automatically after pressure shift? Thanks.
Thanks John. You are correct, there is a real distinction that is offer poorly coached and understood. In answer to your question, if you move your pressure effectively, then mass should naturally have to move effectively as we could argue they work together. However, this isn't always the case as mass and pressure movement does differ with irons vs driver, which could result in a player struggle more with one or the other.
Great question. In short, it can and often does. However, the main cause of EE is how the hands and club are moving in transition, so this has to be connected and develop with a better pressure shift for you to stop the movement. I've a video come out soon that Will explain this in more detail.
Great video twos questions, what band you are using for the shifting and feeling pressure to top of backswing and the weight of the medicine ball. Thank You
Band is a GravityFit band but most normal gym resistance bands do the job, just can't be too strong. Med ball weight is can vary depending on strength but anywhere between 4-8kg
Finally someone who posts a good lesson with the Downshift board! Bookmarked, thank you!
Thanks for the positive feedback 🙏
