    This is exactly how I teach martial arts. The one addition being power. Everyone wants that first but it really is the last thing to work on; because the other 4 things you listed just naturally create the power you want, without the need for strength. Technique MUST be first. Without that nothing else is correct. Thank you for explaining it clearly.

    You must have the most chilled out cat in the world. When I spin my Staff or Nunchucks my cats sprint out of the room never to be seen again for the rest of the day 👀

    Hello Michelle!👋🏾Weird question..I've been looking into kali/escrima as a martial arts to learn because I heard weaponry is good self-defense for women. Also, I was intrigued by it because I was in flag line in marching band (the ones that twirl and dance). I think I read somewhere that flag line has its foundations in martial arts🤔.. I was wondering if you think it would be a good style that I could learn quickly since I'm familiar with spinning already? Thanks so much!! I enjoy your video!!

    • @michelle-c-smith
      @michelle-c-smith  Год назад

      Yes, absolutely! Kali/excrima is a great place to start especially with a flag line background. I've definitely found that my early baton training was a huge asset in my martial arts training, especially in escrima!!
