Microshift is THE secret weapon.... just a touch with some detune. Synth pads, Orch strings, vox, guitars...simply amazing.
oh yeah
problem with all the soundtoys effects rack and all the plugins is the latency, you cant do anything live or in real time with out stupid latency, I highly recommend too NOT buy their products until they sort this out cause they claim their software is m1 compatible and I still get latency!
Still learning about these wonderful plugins. Thanks for this!
effect rack is loaded with goodies and potential. love the feedback on the rack head. i have used effect rack for layering in textures and backgrounds but also for (a)typical multi-fx setups. thanks for the great manuals by the way.
Mitch you are a legend! I have had great pleasure using my Soundtoys plugins for many years and they are the best in their respective fields. Soundtoys as a brand is legendary and always does the right thing. I remember most recently the Ukraine donations they did as a business. Outstanding developer!!
Nick!!! Great presentation, mate. Enjoyed the Soundtoys Effect chat. Here's a drink to world peace...
Awesome to watch this again
great info thanks guys!
I got the lot a few years ago because of sonic talk. It’s amazing.
Penman for me on hi hats, absolutely incredible!!
I love soundtoys!🙏🎶
absolute legend!!
Is Rack ever going to get parallel chains for left/right, mid/side, frequency bands?
I really really really need a Soundtoys shirt!!!
Love Soundtoys, I start with other plugins and end Soundtoys after twitching the others.
Can I add plug ins from Brainworx and Lindell into this virtual mixer or Soundtoys plug ins only?
This is so g´dam compelling ! I bought a Little Altarboy and an OWox from wawes -and a Jullianna from walrus - for christmess -to throw on my Moog Grandmother , and .... MAGIC ! I suddenly got a Polyphonic Granny ! - Shout out to SoundToys , for the Little AltarBoy - its AMAZING !
mitch has a whole room full of nice sound toys.
These guys need to get their shit together and release Soundtoys 6 already. I can’t live without Echoboy Jr, but a lot of the other stuff is getting super long in the tooth. Decap was the best distortion on the market... er... 10 years ago? I just don’t use their plugins half as much as I used to.
Couldn’t agree more. Even if they just release a ‘version 2’ of everything in the current bundle incorporating user requests, that would be great.
Things like Tremolator were a revelation when it just came out, now I have a number of plugins that run circles around it (and are resizable!) Which is kind of becoming the deal now with all their other plugins as well (at least at our studio).
There’s a Gearslutz wishlist that’s been going for a while now discussing Soundtoys 6, and these guys haven’t even acknowledged that thread, which is never a good look. It’s always great to see people like Steven Slate or that dude from Kush Audio getting very involved in discussions. Always makes me want to support those companies more, because it’s clear they’re listening and care about what users think and want. P.s.-I can live with the Soundtoys plugs how they are now, but not having resizable interfaces in 2020 is kind of a dealbreaker. My eyes aren’t what they used to be. These days I usually just load up something else instead. Although I must say I do love Little Alter Boy. Wish there was a Big Boy version with some bells and whistles.
Are they going to make apps for the iturtleneck?
Great warez, great guy (y)
Hey!!!
The fact that you cannot resize the rack is a major oversight. Let’s say you use a single plug-in: you’ll still have all that empty space there. I’m surprised no one has mentioned this, but it does feel like a bit of a compromise, even at the lower price.
I've got the "Soundtoys 5", is there a (cheap) way to crossgrade or get the rack? (again ~200$ is NOT the way to go for me, because I've got the effects already)
The effects rack should be included with Soundtoys 5
@@django-music really.... ...oh, I just look in my soundtyos plugins and there it is... how embarrassing... sorry! THX 4 the Info.
Already have the SoundToys plugins... the shirt tho, I don’t have 🤔
The irony is that these badboys definitely aren’t toys ! A must for anybody serious about production and sound design
Should put the parameter lock in a right-click menu where most people would expect it to be, instead of (or at least, in addition to) the hidden key command that no one will ever guess.
read the manuals 👍 fixed
Would love to use Soundtoys Effect Rack on iPad iOS 🤯 !
Needs ilok :-(
I put Soundtoys on everything. 👌🏽
Me too, awesome and often unexpected results.
TL;DR: Don't wing it! (but do do too)
Damnit. Many times have I paused to try to analyse the units' specific perimeter settings. Most of those times I couldn't read much of the text that's displayed on the front of the units. The pixels that exist proportionally to the parameter of the pots fail to have communicated their relevance through this tired, non-young guy's eyes. I'm trying to avoid using my 42" HD TV as my monitor because this is the U'K' and every penny has become ridiculously worthless yet still counts more so now than it has done in my consciousness. The next update should include a UI that is better-legible on laptops' screens. It's either legible or not. If it remains not then I'll buy glasses but I'd rather not have to.
I've just bought Soundtoys 5 in the recent sale. I've learned that ILOK is annoying and that its download/install advice should be followed precisely. I've messed mine up because I winged it. Don't do that. It works in Ableton and Reason but I'm missing Crystallizer in Reason. It sucks that I had to change the folder that Ableton searches for VSTs in order to use Soundtoys, (at the expense of Ableton suddenly not acknowledging the previously-acknowledged VSTs. Windows really should automatically funnel plugins into their relevant folders during the installation process. I have about ten folders that Reason and FL Studio search through in order to acknowledge my VSTs. Ableton really should follow suit in 13 Suite because searching a mere two folders is archaic.
I learned about Soundtoys because I read that Trent uses Decapitator. I added it to my wishlist. Sanjay C talked about the sale a couple of days ago and weed, lagers and the desire to become closer to my version of Trent's vision forced me to buy the whole shebang. I don't regret it in the slightest.
My Soundtoys account doesn't register my purchase of 5.
Edit: Winging it should be explored at every appropriate situation.
The ghost plugin company.
I wish Soundtoys would just update the graphics with clearer and more readable text...the text on some of them looks like it is 2o year old tech. Filter Freak is a good, very bad example.
I hate the way you can't lock onto which preset bank you are currently browsing. Its constantly bouncing onto other presets.
@@patkelly3966 drives me nuts.
Trent Reznor used some Soundtoys plug ins. He loved them apparently. He used Trash2 as well which he said he used for drums and he said he loved that too. Hesitation Marks was apparently written on a Maschine mk3. I found that out just after selling mine because my computer wasn’t powerful enough to use it as the audio interface and controller along with NI’s plug ins. NI was just too CPU heavy to use with Omnisphere, Bitwig, Soundtoys 5, Reason Rack and Izotope programs. Delays and Chorus Fx seem to eat CPU along with Soundtoys ‘Crystalliser’ if pushed. I need a new laptop to replace my old i5 Dell that’s been a soldier but it’s been in too many wars and needs a rest.
I dont get this. I've skipped through 6min and there hasnt been played any sounds........ Why is this with all these demo videos??
If these plugs had decent demos on the official site and those demos really showed off what you can do with these plugs, maybe and just maybe with the price starting at half what it is now will appeal but…been no demo, outdated, over priced???/? Goidluck finding suckers
For years SoundToys have absolutely refused to update their plugins to use with hi-res displays. Such low res VSTs are very difficult to see/use/enjoy. Currently a total POS. They don't give a fart.
