Personally, I believe that the Thief is the best character for new players. There are so many good ways it can guide. -It helps by teaching players the AI of Streets of Rogue. You learn to take a more tactical approach, noticing goon patrols and discovering the cone of an AI’s line of sight. Suspicious shows the difference between Annoyed and Hostile, and lets you discover what crosses the line into an attack, as well as what it takes for them to lose you in a chase. -They teach the importance of items. Your starting gear isn’t suited for combat, and with their brittle health, you learn to use your tools to find alternate ways without running at the shotgun shopkeeper + bat goon with a crowbar. Cutting a hole in their back room window and cracking their safe right under their nose is always a thrill. -They teach the importance of machines. Sell-o-Matic to offload all that loot you steal, Loadout to refill on tools if you can’t find another Thief. Or maybe even clone one! Starting off with Honor Among Thieves and Suspicious also incentivizes saving up to upgrade/remove them. -Their high speed shows off how not every encounter has to end with a fight to the death. Running past a corner before they can see where you went works just fine. It also shows off little quirks, such as how fellow police/gangsters/etc will join in on the chase if they see their friend chasing you, or how they don’t want to chase you forever, and will eventually give up on the chase. -Box. Lovely box. Camera/Cop-Bot/Zombies/Rivals? Box. Tripped an alarm and the goons are coming to check? Box. Need to end a chase lickity-split? Box. Need to secretly cut a window or push a button or open a crate? Box. I love my box and you should too! -They’re just fun. Swiping the hard hat off a worker, the key off a goon, the Hard Drive off a Scientist is all good practice for swiping the hat off the mayor. Looking around and thinking like a thief is satisfying when you pickpocket out of the cops’ sight or bang a wall to make someone turn before running behind them to grab loot. It all helps new players to think beyond running in guns blazing or bat swinging. Go Thief!
I can’t believe it. The first time I have ever bore witness to someone using the word “yinz” that’s isn’t in the context of talking about the word. How fascinating…
hehehe more actually enjoyable streets of rogue content! thank you algorithm gods and of course incredibly underrated channel, hopefully this being my third recommended vid means something good for you!
Sellomatic is indeed the best machine My advice to everyone is that using traps and tricking people to your advantage is a great skill to have and Cyanide pills are god-tier, as is everything else you can dump in an air conditioner that hurts people. People make great battering rams.
Using the ATM, You can store cyanide pills (if you use a custom character you can start with them I think) and a water pistol, allowing you to get a 10 use instakill gun (Because cyanide pills come in packs of two)
"Everything is a bad idea until it works" it such an amazing quote
I hope you'll be making similar content for Streets of Rogue 2 next year :D
Hope so 2
"you're pissing on expert mode" feels good.
nice guide bro been playing for a while but still learned some things👍
Decided to give this game a shot after finding out about the upcoming sequel. This game is so damn addicting!

Your a legend (im your biggest fan) i hope you keep making the best content out there
The ATM is very useful as if you get money in the slums, you can basically start with a rocket launcher, machine gun and kill ammunizer.

Thumbs up. Helpful. I just bought this, but no freaking idea what's about and how to go through.
Glad I could help!
