I hate the movie trope of being like “omg are you ok?” Or “oh thank goodness you’re alright” when you are very clearly still in immediate danger. Like how about save the meet and greet for after you land the helicopter???
A 9.2 is the strongest in US recorded history. A 9.6 would kill just about everyone at its epicenter. I don't think any of the fault lines in the US can even make a 9.6. An asteroid strike could go higher, but after you reach 10.0 it's pretty much game over everywhere. Try standing through that! :P
No way in real life would a person survive the fall she did For a building to drop you them catch you while you fall to drop you again and repeat it a few times your damn ribs would break and your heart would have palpitations But thank god this is a movie😂
Really depends on how high your falling from each floor you hit, each floor you crash into is gonna slow you down, which could be enough to get you down to the bottom so long as you do keep crashing into said floors from a reasonable height, which highest height a human can realistically survive a fall from is about 100ft (however unlikely), each floor is about 13ft high and you've statistically got a 75% chance on surviving falls from 30ft (world journal of emergency medicine), you'll definitely be severely injured and the likelihood you could walk from this is extremely low, but as long as you did land on every floor on your way down you could technically survive at least initially
Actually seismologists say that the maximum earthquake that could occur on the San Andreas fault or any of the other faults in California is an 8.5 magnitude earthquake.
@@benjaminbrackman3953 that’s still bad, right? Because an 8.3 or 8.5 sounds pretty bad, especially considering how outdated mismanaged the American electric read and infrastructure is combined that with the earthquake could cause insane of damage gas mines blowing up fires out of control the panic alone cause cause more damage
@@JarodFarrant A 9 would be about 3 times bigger and release 5 times more energy than an 8.5. An 8.5 would be still be horrendously bad though. Only the most heavily reinforced buildings would have a chance.
Honestly i really love this movie with Dwayne Johnson playing character will not like he is The Rock just himself 👍👏⚡❤️. Honestly I thought I had a good time watching this movie definitely deserves a sequel to San Andreas movie 🙏
Yes, advanced flight directors and autopilots for helicopters can control the aircraft in all axes, and often they have modes for hovering built in, including maintain altitude, lateral veloctiy hold, hover, and/or autolevel.
I would probably believe this over the 2012 movie more. There would be a ton of panic and the traffic would probably be a nightmare all things considered but you know there would be that one dumb Elon stan that would try to driver over the cars with a cybertruck and fail hard.
I mean, considering she knows a helicopter its coming, it would have to be on a roof to be picked up as street landing would be almost suicidal with the building falling around xD
This movie is a true story this movie will show you how the world will end. This is what will happen when the rapture takes place so be ready for Jesus to come back.
I did enjoy how this is one of the few movies where Dwayne Johnson wasn’t just playing The Rock
And yet, it's still technically is a movie about the rock (a lot of rock)...
Everyone is always amazed at the Hollywood sign being destroyed. Those letters are barely standing compared to an outhouse.
It's the first thing aliens would destroy when they invade.
I like how the bottles aren't falling off the top shelf behind the bar.
Quality beer can't go to waste because of some earthquake xD, earthquake has some standars
I hate how she started telling everyone theres a helicopter coming as if it can carry em all
Well she wanted to try and save some people at least. God forbid she try to help. 🙄 But there was just too much panic and damage to do so.
And no one but her lived
She probably knew that they would end up playing follow my leader.
@@jamesbutler8821 no one but her got in the helicopter so yeah 🤷🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️

at least until you fly it out of the zone of immediate danger.
It's like a scene from LA in 2012 movie, but it's about the survival of another group of people.
For an earthquake that large, you cant even Stand up straight because the shaking is very strong

At least all those bridges will survive that have earthquake upgrades!!
I don’t think any bridge can with stand a 10.0 earthquake 😂😂😂😂
This video is a perfect example to illustrate the need to keep a good suit of plot armor handy at all times.
Ah, someone finally convinced Dwane he needed to put on a helmet.
A magnitude 9 earthquake is actually not possible on the San Andreas fault it's not long enough to cause one the largest you'll get is an 8.9
Actually seismologists say that the maximum earthquake that could occur on the San Andreas fault or any of the other faults in California is an 8.5 magnitude earthquake.
Oh okay. 8.5 is nothing to sneeze at but it's still miles better than a magnitude 9

I learned it was 8.3, but yeah, we're safe from 9.0s here in California.

I am Japanese.
With an earthquake like this, it is impossible to walk or even stand.
The backstory was cliche... The plot mostly predictable... But it was a decent movie. I enjoyed it and would watch it again.
The most ludicrous part was when they just happened to find their daughter.

Yes.

The hero never dies.
That was pretty cool
For *the largest earthquake ever* they’re doing a fantastic job staying on their feet as the tower is rocked back and forth at apocalyptic strength
And this is why I moved to the midwest.
Towards Yellowstone?
In the path of tornadoes.

Helicopters don't have hover mode.
And you can't fly a helicopter one-handed.
New ones do have autopilot, not this one thou.
They do it’s called not touching the joy stick lmao
@@shawnna1398 You're dead wrong and you aren't funny. Seek help. You let go of the controls in a helicopter and everyone dies.

Modern helicopters do have autopilot... this isn't modern helicopter 😅
The Bell 412 from the movie doesn't have auto hover, but the new Airbus H160 does.

I don’t think helicopters have auto hover.
I can't take the rock seriously on this one sorry lol
No helicopter hover is that stable
Go to the roof? Is this safer?
Only for plot relevance
With all that shit going on? No. You'll just fall further than if you stayed in the restaurant a couple of floors below.
