My definitive playthough of the StarCraft 2 Campaign Collection trilogy and Nova mission pack. Each mission video will be a walkthrough explaining and executing strategies to succeed and obtain most achievements on Brutal difficulty. All dialogues, cinematics, and story-related material will be at the end of each video.
In some cases I omit completing Mastery achievements that would require a separate playthrough detracting from a full showcase of the mission in question.
Achievements completed this video:
Hive Five - Complete the Harbinger of Oblivion mission before Kerrigan loses more than 3 Hives on Normal difficulty.
Stormcaller - Destroy 15 units with Psionic Storms in the Harbinger of Oblivion mission.
"I am not Fenix, yet I hold his memories as if they were my own... This is a clusterfuck most foul Artanis. I must have time to consider this."
Clearly he couldn't handle the truth that Narud is Duran backwards
He must consult with the elder gods... wait, wrong game.
I recognize that reference, we've all gone mental
I actually like they mentioned why High Templar hadn't been in the fight until now. I like the little details.
Why?
@@limeangelo6019 world building, reasonable explanations for keeping high teir units away from you. I can see why but can you answer this. Why not?
@@ironwar1863 i mean, lore wise, whats the story behind it in the lore.
@@limeangelo6019 The Khala was an integral part of the High Templars' identity; while ultimately necessary, the loss drove them into The Blue Screen of Death.
It's the little details that also made the starcraft campaign good
By far you've got the most well rounded and well explained and complete playthrough of the sc2 campaign. Good work!
This series has been so helpful. Protoss is by far my weakest faction, I can handle the other campaigns on brutal but struggle with this one on hard. It’s been wicked useful seeing the ways to get proper momentum and seeing effective use of abilities and unit combos that I didn’t really understand before. Thank you for being so clear and for explaining how and why stuff works throughout the series!
Fun tidbit: If you choose to go to Slayn later Alarak will comment something along the lines of; "Wonderful, you've collected your little robot toys, now can we get to the real matter at hand?"
Along the lines, can't remember but he was quite passive aggressive that its funny
I feel sorry that me as a player had to kill fenix in broodwar.
So going off of what karax said with the ascended race assembling the keystone... The terrans did that, Artanis and his buddies just kinda rocked up and took it
Obviously this means that the true ascendant race are the terrans and fucking mental Jim Raynor is our true saviour
You know what's coming
1:00 I imagine Facebook is talking shit in the back while Vora-chan selects warriors...
2:47 Don't tell her what to do, you fuck! Man, Protoss males are such chauvinistic pricks...
2:47 Overlord: "I'm almost there guys! We're gonna kick some ass toge-oh, it's already over..."
5:00 Pro tip
6:26 Convenience-kami-sama strikes again!
7:58 "Excuse me, do you have a moment to talk about our lord and savior Amon?"
11:39 Annihilator: "Adun toridas... from me, mofos! Haha!"
17:05 Arty: "Enough fucking around, people!"
17:56 There's a cruel world out there, and Kerrigan knows it best.
19:29 Appearances are deceiving, dipshit. What are you, twelve?
22:11 "Deus-ex-machina" trope relegated to Jebaited purposes... neat
22:50 Queue "Curb your enthusiasm" for Arty, please. LMFAO
23:06 Channel the Mike Zukeadick spirit, Rohana.
25:28 "Bonding with the weird Tal'darim guy! Hey, see you next time"
25:31 Supermaguffin 3: This shit again. I retract my statement. This is the most dragged out Ex-machina I've seen so far.
27:37 Identity crisis... what are you, twelve?
30:45 Tolkien did it first
33:10 Disney: "Copyright infringement DETECTED"
34:46 Pay attention to what your zealots do.
36:19 BREAKING NEWS: The Keystone is acting up!
36:58 Shut yer god damn stupid mouth, Alarak
NEXT ON ZERATUL WAS (KINDA) RIGHT 3: Arty goes to kill some junkies feat. Flying Face Melters
Kerrigan is realy badly written in Lotv. First being bitchy and hostile to Zeratul, a guy who helped her regain her powers despite the things she forced him to do in the past. Now this "I can't help you. Swarm was broken here. Must rebuild it." YOU PLAY AS ZERG. YOUR FERTILITY AND REPRODUCTION RATE PUTS RABBITS TO SHAME. What happened to all this "We are Swarm. We are countless.'???
Plus she's supposed to be the chosen one to kill Amon, yet Artanis feels much better at fighting him. Who faces Amon directly multiple times and trash talks him? Artanis. Who stops multiple evil plans Amon had? Artanis. Who is the best at being pure good guy, while fighting a pure bad guy? Artanis
Eeeeh, the zerg reproduce fast but putting game mechanics where they use minerals like everyone else aside, they still presumably need resources to do so, meat, biomass, whathaveyou. Not a lot of that on Ulnar. And still a bit of time. Breeding quickly is not the same as spontaneous generation out of thin air.
Also it's good to remember that Amon and his hybrids can take control of zergs by the millions so presumably Kerrigan was reduced to a fairly small swarm she could safely control in the first place.
Also she didn't say she didn't want to help, just that she needed some time to replensish the nubers, it's Artanis that refuse since he's in a serious hurry there.
I think they bungled keeping her out of the rest of the campaign, it’s a necessary conceit of the story because she’s sort of a screen hog character and balancing her narrative development with the rest of the war council for the remainder of the game would be painful, and also cross over into retreading the finale of hots too much.
*But* they do it by completely undoing all the progress you made during hots. Everything you did to make the swarm more powerful is undone because she loses the bulk of it off-screen, completely randomly, and then never shows up in the campaign again. It’s the only time progress for a character you play as is reversed after the campaign ends, and it’s narratively unsatisfying
HAha yeah. Her sending random bits of 2 zerglings at the enemy was like wtf dumb.
The Zerg have also been getting attack or enslaved by Amon during this, Kerrigan is doing the same thing as Artanis, gathering her forces together and rebuilding them.
There's an achievement in the Early LOTV mission where in the prologue.. you get an achievement for wiping out several Zerg bases. They pulled the same crap with Game os Thrones. We all wanted Jon to kill the Night King, nope has to be Arya and her Assassin Creed skills -__-

So here's something I don't understand even to this day: HOW did Alarak figure out that Amon wants to use his people to make hybrid instead of making them ascend or otherwise reward them for their service?
Did he overheard the conversation between Artanis and Amon about the host body? Or did he suspect something earlier than that, and just now found proof?
This is brought up in a tie in book. The guy Alarak replaced learned the truth and Alarak killed him, but it created enough doubt long before all this that he began to look into it and after that look for a way to stop Malash. He was likely already turned when he’s first encountered and was actually testing Artanis to see if he could serve as a ally.
@@nevermore7285 Thanks for the answer on a year-old comment. Kind of irritating that all the interesting stuff about background lore like this is hidden behind some books, though.
Bonding with the weird Tal'darim guy, yeah!
I always figured the names of the Protoss and Zerg gas structures should be reversed. Assimilator sounds more like the Zerg and Extractor more like the Protoss IMO
Tal'darim more like Fail'darim with their track record(most of the artifact mission in WOL, the final Skyggir level in HOTS, and now Glacius in LOV. doesn't really look good for them)
Edit: Well come to think of it at least their track record is better than Failbodon the Harmless from 40K
Idk who i pity more, him or the Eldar. Those spess elves get fucked at every angle by the glorious Spiritual Liege
To be fair, they achieved their goal on glacius, alarak’s mission was to destroy the facility and that’s exactly what he did. Artanis just managed to slip out the back with a handful of experimental technology
@@Aliencommander1245 Yeah but, the entire point of destroying the facility is so they don't get anything from there. It's like wearing a condom but still getting std, and being like, hey i did wrap my tool but ya know, shit happens
Alexander Violice I mean they wandered off with the schematics for the sentinel and one robot fenix, while alarak desrotyed a facility full of innovative tech and the production hub for colossi and a number of starships, it feels like a net win for amon
@@Aliencommander1245 okay that's a good point
Hoping you use the Reconstruction Beam on the carrier mission.
Wait a minute... The keystone will usher them unto hope! Oh my god, it's so obvious now! The writers should have made that more clear...
24:58 I'd wager that's how Taldarim react after being dumped, as well
Thanks for the video.
Use dark archons to take drones and make your own zerg brood
My swarm really needs to die to black mist and can't just overrun the enemy - the map
I would have preferred buffed shadow units pouring from the void to fight here so it at least looked like a fight that broke her
@@hawkorxen Agreed. But than the player May interfere to delay the swarms dustruction and Blizzard didn't want that, I suppose.
Hybrid actually do attack the Zerg throughout the map, you just typically aren’t watching.
@@JayborinoPlays but not enough to justify that many zerg dying to the fog. It's still a way to "hard-time" the mission that breaks the immersion Form me.
Artanis moves to inspect Alarak's dress at the end of the video.
nice going that was a close call GG m8 and good night
If the race that assembled the keystone were suppost to ascend shouldn't Jim have become Zelnaga?
I love alarak because of the voice actor is Q/ John Delance
Jayborino, I am disappointed that you don't continue to click on Alarak for dialogue quips like you do with the other characters. Please let best boi Alarak have his moment on the stage.
Don’t be disappointed, you’re just incorrect about how the dialogue options work.
Oh, okay. I will take your word on it.
They only do the "dialogue quips" if they don't have a full cinematic dialogue. If they have cinematic dialog, then clicking on them just replays the same cinematic dialogue.
Oh really? I didn't know.
Who builds a base on the Void's path that will end up being consumed?
I love how the high templar figured out how to attack after losing the khala... coincidence?
It's because now Artanis can't sense them sneaking in his water balloon collection, so now HT can steal those and throw em at the enemy. Finally
Can you not fight against the darkness that is destroying Kerrigan's bases?
18:30 How do you cheese it?
Pylon Lord Probius skin confirmed
I don't like the archons, I mean honestly they're only a last resort if your high templars have no energy and low on health, so other than that they're kinda useless
This deal grows less appealing...I agree Artanis but it had to be done.
Yeah. They needed the Tal'Darim to not be on Amon's side which would really weaken Amon's forces.
remember that one time Alarak mentioned Jay?
What?
@@zurcus7224 there was a custom campaign of SC2 Jay played and at the beginning, Alarak mentioned Jay
so you went slayn instead of endion?
36:16 I fucking lost it
