Jenny you have created a monster in me... I have made 60 of these in the past 2 days. They are like potato chips...you can't make just one. I cut all my pieces to make them. I didn't have any jelly rolls. I am using fabric that was my sisters, she passed away 2 yrs ago. I plan to keep it for myself & it will be my memory quilt of her.
The best part of all your videos is you! Your joyous enthusiasm is so lovely and so inspiring. Thanks ever so much from the UK. As the novice I am, I am learning so much from you!
Jenny, I am new to quilting, & currently making a log cabin design on my 1st ever quilt. Your Tutorials are what I use to help me learn. You are my Quilting hero! A wonderful tutor! who explains every step clearly and easy to understand patterns. You are the best Quilting lady I have ever seen! Thank you so much for taking the time to teach Quilters at every level! your'e truly Awesome!!!
Oh this one is a must. My 11 year old granddaughter is a very keen budding sewer. So I shall enjoy teaching her to make this quilt. Thank you Jenny. Greetings from London UK
Hello Jenny I just love how you teach to quilt. You take the time to explain each step and show us i have made 2 quilts from your tutorials my first one was the Irish Chain then I did the log Cabin. thank you for all you do and I do hope one day I might get to visit your shop I just wish I stared Quilting 30 years ago.
I bookmarked this tutorial because I am using it to make my grandson a quilt for his high school graduation. His school colors are dark green and white, so I bought two mixed dark green jelly rolls and some dark green print for the back. I hope mine comes out as beautiful as Jenny's. The tutorial is very easy to understand. I hope to continue making other quilts with Jenny's other ideas! Thanks for being such a friendly, informative teacher. We love you.
I just love this easy quilt... I'm making in 30's fabric for my aunt who was born in the 30s... It's just a little different because I put the long strips on the wrong side, but it goes up and down like Jenny's so I am happy with it... I did use the 5" charm pack because I had them... I'll have to wait to do the outer border and the backing util I go home next month and be able to get some 30s fabric to go as the outer border and backing... Love your tutorials Jenny, I have watched 'almost' all of them and have my list of quilts to do...
Jenny--you are so easy to follow with your video's. I think its because I am left handed also. I also iron like you using both hands and going both ways. It's like you are right here showing me how to do the project and so easy to follow you. I really love watching and learning your quilt blocking. I also love all your ideas. I love sewing quilt tops!!! Thank you so much!!!
I am currently self-quarantined due to COVID -19 and I remembered that I have a jelly roll and some leftover white fabric! I am so excited to have a project while I am at home for the foreseeable future. Thank you, Jenny!
Thank you so much Jenny. I really love ❤️ that block, even I can do this one!!!!! Thank you for sharing your great idea 💡 with me and all the ladies & guys who love ❤️ watching you.
You are such a darling cute sweet COMPETENT person with JOY joy JOY all over you! Such a joy to watch and I learn so much. THANK YOU for this pattern. I am going to make this for our Japan missionaries and have everyone from our church sign in the white squares to end up an album quilt! They will love it!
I have been searching for a lovely quilt to make for my mom in law and this will probably be the one, in blue and white mixed pattern jelly roll with yellow squares. Jenny I love the inspiration you give me. I absolutely love Friday MSQC quilt tutorials!!! 😆 It makes me so Happy!
A few weeks ago I sewed up a bunch of pairs of strips intending to make a certain quilt, but once I had the strips sewn I didn't want to do it anymore. As soon as I saw this video, I knew this was the quilt I wanted to make. I got all the squares made and laid them out on the floor. Perfect!! Now I just need to sew the squares together, add the borders, and voila--Done! Thanks, Jenny!
On Sew a Jelly Roll Day I had to come to MSQC for an easy service quilt. Thank you Jenny for your inspiration and willingness to share your great ideas.
I made a 2 step for my granddaughter, the strips were black and gray, and then used some tie dyed fabric for the block. It turned out fantastic. Thanks for this great idea and quilt.....
Thank you so much for this video! I have your well-written instructions, but for some unknown reason, I need a video to make it clear. You are a wonderful teacher, and I appreciate it.
Just loved the Two Step quilt. Jenny you have a great way of teaching and explaining and you give one the feeling and enthusiasm. Thanks so much. From South Africa
Love the quilt Jenny. Just whizzed up the blocks yesterday (I used yardage I'd had for my granddaughter for ages). Can I make the comment that instead of cutting the background fabric into 5" squares, I cut the 5" strips. I cut 16" off my strip sets then added the white stripes (which I had cut in half). This gave me a three strip set that I then cut into 5" sets. Was a lot faster and less work.
I was thinking something similar. You could cut a second 16" colored set. Attach the white strips on opposite sides to give it the illusion of being scrappier.
Whew..the prep (cutting and pressing) was a chore...but the sewing was EASY PEASY! The finish product turned out beautifully! I love it! Thank you for this tutorial!
Made this quilt with a patterned square block and solid strip set. It went together so quickly! I used the layout from the Block magazine rather than this one as it worked better with my fabric choices. One thing I have learned from watching Jenny is NOT to pin. I used to pin everything but still the seams were off. Now I pin almost nothing and my seams are perfectly aligned. I didn’t see how the nesting would work but it really does!
One more reason to LOVE FRIDAY!! Thank you Jenny! This one should be quick and easy, and a good reason to get out my Serger to sew those strips together.
Thank you Jenny. A.ways find a good idea when I watch your video s. Visited last Sept when you had your birthday and had a great time. Thanks again, God Bless and good fortune.
I have made several of the quilts that Jenny and MSQC put out, and I have to say, they are pretty easy and LOADS of fun! My next tackle is to make my mother-in-law a photo memory quilt, which would be my 4th one, for her 90th birthday this October. I just need to pick out which quilt pattern I want to use. I'm thinking this one or the Pecking Order Quilt. This will make it my 3rd quilt made I will have made this year. Phew....can't get enough of my sewing machine!
Jenny that block is really really stunning and gorgeous and breathtakingly beautiful......such a brilliant idea 💡 thank you so much Ron. Thank you so much Jenny xxx Mags stay safe and well too
Loved this tutorial. I’m so new to quilting and I love the way you actually show me how to accomplish this rather than just saying it. Cheers from Australia. Jan🌸
Jenny, I just LOVE you. You made my day last month on the 14th when I actually met you in person. It was the high light of my trip to your town. Now, I am at PEACE, this is all thanks to you!! I enjoy your tutorial. Made a few of your quilt tops now I to quilt them. P.S. You are truly an amazing woman and I Love you!!
I was looking for a light, summery quilt to make using a jelly roll I already have. This looks perfect ... but, once again, at about 70" x 83" it's not as large as I hoped. I love the tutorials and making lots of Jenny's quilts, but I've often found them not quite large enough for a bed. I'm new to sewing, after being away from it 35 years, and like when I can follow a pattern completely and not have to wonder about adding more blocks and borders. I made one quilt for my queen bed at 96" x 110" & it could be a tiny bit smaller but it's about right.
Okay, it's high time I made my version of the "Two Step Quilt"! I have the same jellyroll, but instead of a white background, I plan on using a dark charcoal background (it should make these colors POP! The only thing I have to be careful about is making sure that the darkest color in this jellyroll isn't butted up against a charcoal background square (I'll be certain that I flip that particular strip around). Can't wait to get started; I had to finish and clear out the quilts on my design wall. Thanks Jenny and Crew. You guys ROCK❣Lindsay, Sacramento.
Love this! I have to say..I didn’t realize you were left handed ...as I am...but because I never had left handed scissors, and right handed scissors don’t cut very well in the left hand....I learned to cut with my right. But that’s the only thing I do with my right hand. Thanks for sharing your wonderful skills!
Thanks for another great tutorial! I love your tutorials and I've made several of the quilts you've presented. I teach quilting courses and I recommend your tutorials to anyone who takes my classes. Often when I quilt in my little sewing room I have your videos playing. I joke to my sisters and friends that "Jenny and I sew together all the time!" I hope to come take a course with you soon. Thanks again and keep them coming.
What a great idea. Needed a pattern for my grand nephew's forever baby quilt. Did fussy cutting for main square, then added only 2 inch strips. Doing 4 across with borders, coordinating fabric to go with fussy cut cowboy print. His name is Maverick so it is perfect. Thanks Jenny, love your ideas.
I love this quilt and I have just completed the top of one for our Guild's outreach program. It went together in a flash. One note: Jenny's sample block is a mirror image of the blocks in the quilt on the wall. It depends which end of the white square you put your first 2 sections onto. It works either way but when you go to do the layout, you have to rotate it a bit. TFS.
Thank you, Jenny, for these videos! I'm a beginner and you make quilting look so easy, I'm going to make this one! 🙂 It is a joy to watch your videos and instructions. I live in Arizona and one of these days, I'm going to come visit and give you a hug!
i love this, but i will not make any quilts! lol! but, i Will use the concept of putting the fabric together to make a cute front pouch for my canvas tote bags! the quilt is so pretty i love it!! great video sweetie!
I had been designing a quilt for my daughter's 10th wedding anniversary, combining squares (which I'm going to transfer photos to) and a rail fence type with different Hawaiian fabrics -- and then you did a tutorial on what was in my head and couldn't get onto paper. Thank you -- but don't tell my daughter and son-in-law about the quilt-- it's a surprise ;)
I'm making a baby quilt for my husband's niece, and have a jelly roll that's just about perfect for this project. I need to get some background fabric, so I'll make a trip to Craft Warehouse tomorrow to see what they've got that will work. Awesome tutorial, as always!

This is a fun, quick pattern that always turns out good. It can be switched up by using a patterned charm pack for the center squares and either solid or batik strips for the sides. Another gorgeous idea is to use a dark center with some very bright fabrics for the strips. A dark grey is gorgeous for this. What a great quick Quilt. I need a "quickie", I have the jelly roll, border and backing fabric and this evening I have been looking through my library for ideas. Hey presto, an email from MSQC for RUclips and I have Jenny making the perfect quick Quilt. Many, many thanks, great instructions Jenny , as usual. From a grateful viewer in Cardiff, UK.
Thank you so much Jenny for your fantastic videos! I am very new to quilting, but I find it so amazing and therapeutic! Keep them coming, I’m your number 1 fan! Mary T.
I love this...as a new quilter I think this will be a good project for me. I keep buying these jelly rolls from your shop and now I can use one. I also know that I can get the complementary fabric from you too without having to hunt far for background and borders. Thanks for all your tutorials and how well you explain these projects for a beginner like me.
Oh this is fabulous! Thank you so much for this tutorial. I can see how I can do this as a QAYG quilt by quilting each block and then putting them together. You are amazing and your personality just shines through!!!! You truly inspire me.
Jenny another simple block thank you but this one looks stunning in that fabric and layout. I have a jelly roll on the shelf so off I go.....thank you for the inspiration
Great pattern! I bet this would work awesome with a jelly roll of batiks I have in my stash, along with a gorgeous white, tone on tone or something like that. I'm thinking it could also potentially be a scrap buster as well. Currently, I've challenged myself to do a different pattern, using only fabric I currently have on hand, although I'm quite sure I'll need to buy for my outer border and backing. Thanks for a lovely video.
Wow, what an eye-catching quilt, looks way more complex than it is. I've promised a single quilt as a raffle prize for November and I think this is going to be the one!
If you make the square a bit smaller and use honey buns, 1.5" strips, you can make quick mug rugs for Christmas. Also if you use yardage instead of precuts, SAVE THE SELVEGE! Especially if it's wide. They make great ribbons to tie up say precuts that you already opened or your handmade gifts.
When I was making this, I found my jelly roll came up short so I will have to cut my blocks down to 8 inches. Make sure you jelly roll pieces are long enough. I noticed that some of my strips were shorter then the rest.
Oh I love this 2 step pattern, so refreshing and I will be trying this one for sure. Thank you so much for these wonderful tutorials you have no idea how much they help me. Being a newbie I'm really open to all these ideas so, Thank you from Nth Queensland Australia...
I just love this quilt and can't wait to use a couple of jelly rolls I have had for awhile as well as knock off a couple of gifts from my Christmas to do list! Thanks so much!
I love this pattern! I'm really in the mood to do a jelly roll kind of quilt, with white background and no half square triangles! (I've overdosed on HSTs, lol.).
I love the block as it is so simple to put together. I'll be doing it with 2" wide strips so I'll end up with a much smaller block which is fine for the size quilts I like to make. It will end up a joyous riot of colors as scrap quilts are wont to do and I have boxes of 2 inch wide strips that need to get used up. Thanks so for the pattern.
Jenny you have created a monster in me... I have made 60 of these in the past 2 days. They are like potato chips...you can't make just one. I cut all my pieces to make them.
How could a person not enjoy your tutorials. Yep going to Make this one Claudette New Zealand

Jenny I love your great ideas and your relaxed and clear explaining. Your videos are very good Inspiration for me. I'm sorry for my bad English.
I made this one of these for my daughter. It was so pretty and I used wool batting. She’s always uses it at night.
This is a fun, quick pattern that always turns out good. It can be switched up by using a patterned charm pack for the center squares and either solid or batik strips for the sides. Another gorgeous idea is to use a dark center with some very bright fabrics for the strips. A dark grey is gorgeous for this. Any way that you do it as long as there is good contrast it turns out gorgeous.
Thank you Jenny ! You are such a good teacher !
I made this quilt after seeing Jenny make it. It was very easy. I would love to show how cute mine turned out.

You are so great Jenny. I just love watching your tutorials.
Jenny another simple block thank you but this one looks stunning in that fabric and layout. I have a jelly roll on the shelf so off I go.....thank you for the inspiration
Those are the type of quilts I like to do Jenny easy and fast
Thank you for this tutorial, I am a beginner and this pattern was so easy to follow.

This could also be a great pattern for a "friendship" quilt!! Have friends or family write their names in each white square.
I did something similar in a baby quilt for my son! Family and friends sent me their signatures and I embroidered their signatures into the squares!
Want to try this as it will be a fast and easy quilt. Love all the short cuts.
Ty Jenny…you inspired me the love to sew!

This is one of the prettiest quilts I have seen in a long time, thank you
I just love your videos.
Love, love how easy it was to make. You have such great tutorials. From Innisfil Ontario Canada 🇨🇦
Awesome idea of the cutting and sorting. God bless
I made this one with scraps turned out beautiful
This one looks easy. I think this will be my first one.
Great use of a jelly roll, love your tutorials!
Loved this tutorial and the design ideas.. thank you once again Jenny. ♥
When I was making this, I found my jelly roll came up short so I will have to cut my blocks down to 8 inches. Make sure you jelly roll pieces are long enough. I noticed that some of my strips were shorter then the rest.
Love it. The colors are so pretty!
That is just so beautiful!!
I love this pattern! I'm really in the mood to do a jelly roll kind of quilt, with white background and no half square triangles! (I've overdosed on HSTs, lol.).
I like how you still use inches. I'm the same. Nice quilt Jenny
Awesome tutorial - now I know what to do with my charm packs and Jelly rolls
Thanks Jenny,
IAm making this pattern for Victoria’s Quilts, very quick and easy.
This is sooo easy and it looks so intricate
I learn something new with each video.
I love it! Beautiful colors! Thanks again Jeanny!
