Information that I needed and very eye opening. My friend had this problem if he took magnesium. Now, I understand why that happened. Thank you from Indonesia 🙏
I was taking magnesium 7 (7 types of magnesium) and started getting weird heart palpitations. I changed my magnesium supplement and now I feel a lot better.
Interesting. I was taking supplemental magnesium for 5-7 years after reading and hearing how most people are magnesium deficient. About 3 years ago I started developing random laryngospasms which are muscle spasms in your larynx that shut off your airway for about 20-30 seconds and is super scary. Feels like you choking to death. I started doing research into laryngospasms and come to learn that it is a symptom of being hypocalcemic (too low calcium in blood). I also know that in my diet I don't consume that much dairy. My current hypothesis is that I was taking an excessive amount of magnesium which drove down my blood calcium, combined with a diet that doesn't consume much diary, I made myself hypocalcemic triggering the laryngospasms. I started supplementing with an electrolyte powder that contains magnesium, potassium, and sodium. I add calcium lactate to it in a ratio of 2x the magnesium amount in the powder. I also add in vitamins D3 and K2. After one week I already feel better. Lower back and knee pain I had is reduced or going away, my energy levels are much higher, and my sleep much better.
Yep, sounds too me too that the mag supplement drove down your calcium. Good that you figured it out on your own (took me months). If you want to thoroughly check your mineral levels I can only recommend a hair analysis: ruclips.net/video/q7hJ5M0H_4k/видео.html They are way better than blood tests.
Can you tell us exactly which products you bought, because there's a LOT of choices out there and hearing a recommendation from someone who's actually taken the product is helpful for someone who may have the same problem.
Your video is indeed very helpful. Most doctors won't know much about this connection. One doctor put me on psychiatric drug as my heart would start racing without any cause. Fortunately I quit after a month on my own. Also I was getting heat palpitations after taking magnesium. It somehow resolved after taking vitamin D. But nowi am also aware of the calcium connection.
I agree that most doctors would not know this. I have a friend who is a doctor and he told me that he studied vitamins and supplementation for about one-half of a day during all his years of medical school.
A Magnesium L-Threonate-based formula grants high bioavailability and is linked to optimal cognitive health, migraine relief, and improved mental health. Magnesium Bisglycinate Chelate is another ingredient you want to look for in a magnesium complex as it promotes the overall absorbance level of the supplement, as well as DiMagnesium Malate, which also provides neuromuscular benefits and an anti-inflammatory effect.
I appreciate this video. Very informative and educational. My doctor told me to take magnesium for my gut health. I have a few gut problems. I also have RA, arthritis, fibromyalgia, type 1 Diabetes and a stroke and heart attack in the past, etc etc etc... But I am also dehydrated, all the time. I can't fit but so much water in my belly, is what i tell my doctor.
If you’re dehydrated all the time have you looked into adding a pinch of good salt such as Celtic or Himalayan pink salt or Redmans salt to your drinking water ? You can find more info from Dr Barbara O’Neill or others on YT . I think some people refer to it as “Solay ” water . Apparently it works by enabling the water to get into your cells as it should, I know I definitely noticed a difference when I started.
Also do not drink it with food...2 hours before or/and after. Baja gold salt is apparently the one with most nutrients... if you dont like salty water try chewing a few/3 to 5 salt crystals then drink a glass of water...twice a day 😊
Thanks for your video. I started taking magnesium to help me sleep and calm down some foot cramps I get sometimes. Within 30 minutes or so my heart was beating around 95 beats per minute, not good to induce sleep. I took some L-Theanine to help slow down my heart, it helped some but not a fix. I tried Magnesium again a couple night later and I had same result so I'm gonna try your remedy. Also, taking magnesium just makes me feel a little weird/off and not in a pleasant way. I was also taking a Bis-Glycinate form of Magnesium, which is a really good pure form from a really reputable lab tested company. Thanks

Someone who exhibits a lot of sense in his videos. This video is a rare find. Also, sickness and stress deplete a LOT of magnesium and potassium as I recently learned. Heart rate was over 150bpm when my average is 57. Freaked me out. But I got the palps straightened out, thankfully. Now I take Calcium Lactate with Magnesium at night cause I don't eat much calcium.
Question. When you realized you needed both mag and calcium, what made you take them together? Don't they compete for absorption? Or is your body able to figure out what is needed to rectify the imbalance?
They only compete for absorption in high doses, which is why I split them up into 3 smaller doses throughout the day. The ideal split depends on many things and usually lies between 1 to 1 to 2 to 1 (cal to mag). Based on that I tried different doses and narrowed in over time.
I started taking a few new supplements last spring -- Berberine and Magnesium -- and had an abnormal ECG as well as palpitations and lower heart rate than already low and later on, AFIB. Stopped taking both and original ECG abnormality was rectified overnight however the AFIB continued. Was successfully cardioverted and have a thing with my throat that I've had off and on over the years where I think I can't breathe and lose my voice and vocal cords stick together and doctors call it anxiety but it is actually caused by something else. Magnesium was the only new supplement when this latest round hit. By the way I can out perform most people physically so I am essentially healthy -- could run a 13 minute 2 mile while also showing stage 4 emphysema on a PFT with clear chest CT. For years like this -- vO2 MAx of 50 to 51 and stage 4 COPD but no coughing o shortness of breath just vocal issues. And AFIB of course which is new. Although likely had it off and on. What you say is true for you and likely others too, but not for me and many others. Magnesium glycinate is a major factor in my control of A-Fib, along with diet, a moderate exercise & weight loss. You had heart palpitations probably due to detox. During detox its common to experience heart palpitations. I would be extra careful taking calcium supplements because they do indeed compete with magnesium. When excess calcium gets excreted the magnesium goes with it.

So it heart palpitations are experienced with potassium supplementation should we try taking potassium and sodium together? Also I would have thought sodium deficiency's are very rare right because there is so much salt in modern diets?
Impossible to answer this without knowing your nutrient levels. Sodium and potassium levels aren't regulated primarily by intake but by aldosterone levels (= a hormone that increases sodium and decreases potassium). Please don't supplement without testing first :)

true for you and likely others too, but not for me and many others. Magnesium glycinate
is a major factor in my control of A-Fib, along with diet, a moderate exercise & weight
loss. There ten or so types of Magnesium, with Mag. glycinate being 1 of 2 being best
for A-Fib, A-Flurry & Palpitations. One size does not fit all. What works for you will
work for some others but never for ALL. Still I find your discussion of balance between
4 major minerals excellent and I have subscribed to your channel.
I was getting random stabby heart pains for weeks. I quit taking so much magnesium and it quit within a day. I was taking at least 500% rda for many months before I had symptoms. I also was having gut issues that also seem to have gone away.
If rda is 400 mg/day, why would you take 2000+ mg/day? What prompted you to do that, instead of following the instructions?
@@suzanneemerson9787 because I don't seem to absorbe magnesium.
@@disinformationstation2072 There are many types of Magnesium. Which type are you taking? Magnesium oxide is the least absorbant and you will only absorb 10% of what you take. Magnesium taurate is more easily absorbed.
@@windylim I take a multi mag from Life extention. What put me over the edge was when I started putting trace mineral drops in my water. I had no clue I could overdose on magnesium
@@disinformationstation2072 i suggest reading 'The magnesium miracle' which is a great book that gives a lot of valuable information so you can decide the best way for you to supplement. Multivitamins are typically useless as they include magnesium oxide which can't be absorbed well. You are better off taking smaller doses of something that can be easily absorbed
My mag was low today heart rate 160 Ty and it’s my bday thohhht I was a goner today😢
I've been dealing with Atrial Fribulations for about 2 years. Magnesium Taurate is the current one recommended for it.
I'm currently taking Magnesium Taurate + B6, and A + D3 + K2, it's settled.
and how you feeling now

I'm actually am wearing a "Smart Watch" that links with my Phone. It's been clean when I run it.
I was at my Primary Cardiologist office last Monday, the ECG was clean, back to see him in 6th Months.
Wondering the same @richietattersall2122
Brand.
Magnesium oxide only 4% is being absorbed into the body. Magnesium glycinate is high absorbing.
You had heart palpitations probably due to detox. During detox its common to experience heart palpitations. I would be extra careful taking calcium supplements because they do indeed compete with magnesium. When excess calcium gets excreted the magnesium goes with it.
It’s not detox dude that’s not backed by actual science
Mag supplements stopped my palpitations and a-fib
Literally two hours after taking magnesium glycer I had to go to the ER. My pulse was spiking to 132
I got heart palpitation from iron supp. I stopped taking them. My ferritin was very low 11.6
Anemia causes paltipatons, check ferritin b12 folate homocysteine
Magnesium stooped my PVC’s
Love how every video awkwardly cuts off at the end.
Anyone just get really weak , depressed and anhedonic on it ?
Talk to your doctor.. the guy who has zero training in diet and holistic health. Lmao
you are the only one who sees this dude as a quack

Celtic salt..has them together
Mabee he is confused 😂 I know u can get palpation from to much potassium .
I can't take it ,it makes my back hurt.
If someone suffring from any kind of disease, he/she should be very sensitive about her diet, anything can rise the risks, Planet Ayurveda's expert provides the best consultation related the health,
So it heart palpitations are experienced with potassium supplementation should we try taking potassium and sodium together?
Also I would have thought sodium deficiency's are very rare right because there is so much salt in modern diets?
Impossible to answer this without knowing your nutrient levels. Sodium and potassium levels aren't regulated primarily by intake but by aldosterone levels (= a hormone that increases sodium and decreases potassium). Please don't supplement without testing first :)
@@felix-harder I don't see why that's impossible. Is sodium deficiency rarer than potassium deficiency?
No something is probably wrong with u
It’s bull
