Thanks for the comparison!
Impressive
Ooh damn I’m so happy . I think for half the price it’s basically the same? I’d love a blind taste
Can you please make a comparison between eureka mignon manuale and df54 ?
Oh boy, a commercial grinder coming soon. That will get people talking. 👍
Oh wow, how do you grind @15 on the gen 2? With a 16g shot of medium dark coffee, I need to grind down to 5. I find it very low
I should add, we have the SK40: I am very pleased with the control and adjustment of it, very consistent shots. But I was disappointed in the lack of clarity, as we do light to medium roasted single origin coffees. We purchased it before the 54 was released, and we could not afford the 64. So I was curious how the 54 compares.
Flat burrs have quite a bit more clarity in my opinion.
Why does 10mm burr size difference have such a huge difference in overall size ? The eureka 50,55 and 65mm are all basically on the same platform
A lot more surface area to allow the beans to be ground more precisely/uniform.
Apologies if this is answered elsewhere already, but are there any plans to offer a white finish version of the DF54 (or any color other than black) in the future?
Yes, I believe we will sell in white eventually
The espresso outlet website already let's you pre-order the white one. I've placed an order for a white df54.
Thank you for the comparison! Would it be possible to compare the 54 with the sk40, specifically for espresso. Although I would be curious about pourover also.
In Australia, DF64 Gen 2 comes with DLC burrs by default, but is twice the price of the DF54. Do you think the value is worth double that of the DF54?
Really no different in the USA. Twice the price. 64 is better, but it depends on your budget and how you are using the grinder. Not easy answer, and not a decision I could make for someone.
how does the DF54 compare to an Ode gen2 so far as grind quality and sound quality (loudness etc)?
ode has 64mm burrs, so the burrs might be a bit better, but the overall build quality in comparison, at least to us, is not as good on the ode. 54 is pretty quiet.
Is the 54mm burrs traditional in profile in the cup for shots?
Yes, they are traditional espresso burrs.
Would the 54 be good for drip grinds AND espresso grinds?
Video coming soon. Note, these burrs are technically more designed for espresso but we use for both.
how would you compare this suggestion vs the sk40 or lagom mini??
My lagom mini just died after 18 months of mild use, wouldn't recommend.
This is the winner
how about the lagom mini?
What's the height of both models. on the website they have it pegged at the same height but in pictures and your video it looks quite different.
Sk40 vs df54 for strictly milk drinks?
did you get any thoughts on that matchup? I don't drink cow tit milk but am looking into those two grinders
following
I do AeroPress. Which one would work better for that?
either will work. Id go gen 2, especially if you plan to get SSP MP or cast burrs. don't recommend cast for espresso.
Will the DF54 be good for milk drinks?
Great for milk drinks
